Another Twitter follower more aptly defines the "Putin is dead" rumors by this video.

It doesn't make sense for Putin to not at least issue a statement that he had emergency surgery and will be unable to perform his duties for a period of time.
Who said he had emergency surgery?

If there really is a no fly zone over Putin's home that simple enough as they don't want any news getting out if he is or isn't there.
Is that why there are no fly zones established when Obama is on vacation?

What is really being hit hard by the sanctions is Russian Oil production.
Actually, it's the market price of oil that's the problem, not sanctions.

A cold can last as long as ten days, but it can often be less. Unless there were complications, am just not buying that one.

I don't buy it either.
Only wussies go hide when they get a cold-most folks, even kids have to go to work/school with a cold.

Putin wouldn't let a cold bother him,no way.

It's not his style. Putin goes out of his way to maintain an image of strength and power. As I understand it, he's fairly vain as well (and not above showing off his physique in ridiculous photo ops), so being seen publicly in less-than-peak condition would be a blow to his carefully-cultivated mystique.

I'm all caught up....32 pages in and now I'm thirsty for more info.

It's like reading a book and the last chapter has been torn out.

I need more!

*sighs* I'll be waiting.

Read the first quote again as it clearly states that it doesn't make sense that he wouldn't issue a statement if he was ill.

No-fly zones are to avoid people from snooping or worse. That is the point.

Russian oil execs have been sanctioned.
Russian Oil execs sanctioned. Several wealthy people that run Russian oil industry have been hit by sanctions.

Well, It's already Monday across the pond.

Shouldn't we be hearing something soon?

a reply to: MagesticEsoteric Same here. I think it is time to regroup and find out what is fact at this point. We have opinions, rumors, reports, and what we need now is to correlate all actual information, then move on from there. This is the most I have read in a very long time .

There are a few posts that have done that already. There just isn't much to be confirmed yet.

Lots of coincidences for sure but, mostly speculation.

#1 fact - No actual sighting of Putin in quite some time. That's a biggy for me.

It has been said by the Kremlin that he has been ill.

Yes. That is why the island of Oahu becomes a no-fly zone when Obama is on vacation there.

Russian oil execs have been sanctioned.
I know but falling oil prices have caused real economic problems for Russia.

Which makes it all that much more strange. Disappearing for almost 2 weeks doesn't exactly do much for the appearance of a strong leader either.

It should be mentioned that Coup's in Russia aren't exactly out of the ordinary either.

On the subject of his all important mystique.

The recent murder of his opposition was on the verge of turning that guy into a martyr. All the flowers around the red square and no attention to Putin except suspicion had to be killing his ego.

Nobody is talking about that anymore, the public over there is now slowly only having one thing on their mind, where is Putin.

Hitler had a way of creating an image his people yearned for and didn't tolerate anyone else having their affections either. If Putin is a true dictator, this could all be an act carefully orchestrated by him for selfish reasons alone, the affection of the people is a sign of his power.

The significance of "Monday" is that another meeting was planned for that day.
We will have to wait for daylight hours to see if that happens.

As another member pointed out. The' Ides of March' is the 15th March - TODAY - The day, roman emperor Julius Caesar got assassinated. It could all be just smoke and mirrors.

The most Putin has been missing from the public spotlight in the past 13 years is 2 days. He did that twice.

I'd suggest being missing for 10 days is more than a flu, but people can believe that if they want to.

I am imaging Putin has gone all John MaClean in a Whitehouse Kremlin Down scenario.

I'm trying to imagine our leaders disappearing for weeks. Oh right, they already do here...golfing vacations.

I don't think any official statement has been published by the Kermlin as MSM would run with it. MSM is just as baffled by what is going on as everyone else. Maybe he really did have a stroke. Nobody really knows. It's all really odd though.

The falling oil prices and the subsequent collapse of the Ruble probably didn't make a lot of Putin supporters happy considering their options to protect their wealth are limited due to the sanctions.

Speculation wise, and in my opinion, there is more evidence pointing to a potential coup than anything else.
