Five years is a long time to be cooped up in a hole in the ground with a bunch of people, only to find out there was no need for it...

Did any of them get claustrophobic or pressure you to stick your head out now and then to check if it was safe to come out?

Are you and your friends making plans as to how you will 're-enter' the world? I mean, jobs? homes? integrating the kids back into the school system?

Wait, if he went down there 12/20/2012, that's only two years and a couple of months. He should still have more than 2 1/2 years of supplies left.

You could easily do it anonymously -

Just don't show your face or too much of the landscape around the bunker - you could carry a laptop with the camera side pointing outward and still hear and answer all the questions as you showed everything you'd done...

And look up in the right corner of your computer screen and you should see a white envelope, click on the envelope and a new 'screen' will come up with a box on the left where you will see any PMs you've received, click on the PM and it will open to the right of the screen...

(If I have any of that wrong, someone please correct me - I do it without really thinking anymore, I may have left a step out)

I think it's safe to stop posting on this thread. Don't feed his fire. I think this john guy is a troll no pun intended. You can take pictures of this "bunker" without revealing it's location. I need valid proof before I post anything more on this. Until then john, your a troll.

The family and friends got a bit of cabin fever, but that is how it goes when you are trying to survive the end of the world.
It ended up being a little over 2 years. We were actually discussing about opening the door when we heard the banging and power tools.
As for reentering the world, the kids want to go off and do something. They were always home schooled so education isn't a problem Luckily for me, I took the advice of this forum and put all of my money into gold. I was already pretty wealthy and it was initially a means to keep the tax man off my back.

Seriously. You have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to repay your family for the three years underground by applying your experiences in the real-world.

I live in Arizona. I know two people from the University of Arizona Biosphere 2 project. There are several venture capitalists connected to that project. Each one would be enthusiastic about meeting you, so much so that I can guarantee your trip would be all-expenses paid.

An interview with us here on ATS/NLBS would be a great first step to informing the world about your amazing success. Then, people with serious money would be falling all over themselves to get you up and running in a new venture. You'd be a millionaire several times over.

Wouldn't it be wild if the dude was telling the truth and was in a hole for over two years? I smell reality show, kinda like that bunker smelled with multiple people living in that small space for over 2 years.

I am already a millionaire several times over. I do not need fame or sheeple poking around my land. Besided, weed is legal in a couple of american states and the border is just an unused logging road away. I will be even more rich when I turn all the indoor gardens in to a giant mary jane farm
