Because he was supposedly a Spanish citizen, and it has been said already...Ukraine does not allow dual citizenship.

Despite the difference in altitude, the aircraft was in airspace that had been deemed safe to fly in by both the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and International Air Transport Association (IATA), according to the airline’s most recent statements on its website and on Twitter.

You do know that there were planes flying in the same airspace at the same time as MH 17?

Virgin Atlantic had a packed Heathrow-bound airliner flying through Ukrainian airspace when MH17 was brought down.

A Singapore Airlines passenger plane was flying just 15 miles away when flight MH17 was shot down.

Other airlines which used the same airspace over Donetsk as the MH17 plane on the same day include Jet Airways, Thai Airways, Pakistan International Airlines, Qatar Airways, Etihad; Emirates, and Austrian Airlines.

And that data was correct.

So in the Ukraine it`s only "officially" not allowed to have dual citizenship, but with all the contradicting laws and easy handing out of them, he could have had been given an Ukrainian passport very easily to work around the law.

That would mean the Ukrainians didn`t lie when they said there were only "Ukrainians" working over there.

Embassies don`t give that kind of information to journalists who are asking, they are not even giving it to the Dutch Parliament at the moment (big uproar over here about it, see here)

And there's not been a shred of evidence to back his claims up. No one else has reported anything on ATC radar, other commercial pilots flying within visual range of MH17 didn't report any unusual aircraft, there were no traffic warnings passed on to anyone, the only radar reports are from Russia and claim to be from a radar unit they said was in standby.

Oh wait, its a coverup so the transcripts that were released so far are fake, right?

Well there's a great argument. They're not showing evidence, therefore the Ukraine did it. And if it was accidental by the separatists as just about everyone says, just what evidence do you think there would be?

I wonder what the Putin apologists would make of this rocket attack, which killed 20 in a crowded market, by the rebels.. I've seen a lot of noise made by the pro-Russians about how they're defending the civilians from attack by the Government, but never see them condemn these types of attack.

Personally I don't blame either side for mortar or Grad attacks. They aren't precise and both sides use the city to hide placement of their own equipment. Nobody in the military attacks buses or market on purpose just for sport.

These people died because of the war that Russia felt necessary after losing influence in Ukraine.

Reports are just propaganda, and the US is behind this as Ukraine is run by their puppet.

Because we all know the US is responsible for all things done in the world.

Well one of our friends on the other side of the fence posted in the UNTV thread I made as well as the thread where they are still trying to argue US mercenaries are in Ukraine they have proof of US mercenary involvement. It shows a guy in uniform asking the reporter to get out of his way in English.

That is the mentality we are dealing with.

The video is 10 mins long and the part they are referring to as evidence is 2 seconds.

Sad, isn't it? I noticed in one thread where someone mentioned mercenaries and they posted a snippet from an article showing that French citizens had gone to fight for both sides, but apparently it's only a problem if they fight for the Ukraine.

Anyway, it's been known for many months that some Europeans with military experience have gone to fight, it's even been reported on the BBC - right here, in fact. Not that really means anything, as you get mercenaries and "freelance" soldiers pitching up in conflict zones the world over.
