And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Russia has existed much longer than the U.S has. If you want to talk about Russian attempts to influence it's neighbors we could take it back 500 years or more.

If we're talking purely post WWII there are still well over 100 cases that can be used to demonstrate how Russia has attempted to use it's power to influence geopolitical events. There isn't even a debate about that amongst anyone with even a highschool understanding of history (from either side of either the atlantic or pacific).

Pure ignorance to suggest Russia is some sort of saintly nation that has never tried to assert it's influence on the global stage. It's own efforts to do so have consistently come back to bite it in the ass much the same way the U.S's efforts have.

If this site is about denying ignorance, I have just denied it. Still waiting for the OP to prove history wrong.
I agree with you that Russian history isn't saintly.

But currently the US is the superpower after the fall of the USSR. And really and truly since that fall the US has been the biggest purveyor of violence and aggression. So Putin and Russia could actually state "Russia in its current form is not responsible for anywhere near the level of global manipulation that the US is."

This doesn't excuse anybody else, nor Russia's past. But it is appropriate to hold accountable whoever is doing the worst right now.

And a recent article on Hong Kong that ignores the fact China violated the treaty returning Hong Kong to China with a 2 system one country set up. Universal suffrage is what was agreed to and China welched on it.

Why do you find it necessary to blame everything on the US when it clearly has nothing to do with the US. I noticed you never bothered to point out china and the UK are exchanging words over Hong Kong because of the UK's position.

You wanted sources for claims, well there you go, and two are even from MSM so I thought you would be delighted...

...no way in pleasing you it seems.

And you`re a very quick reader to have read them so fast.

It has nothing to do with pleasing me and everything to do with relevance, which the articles you posted are anything but.

Putin is sounding more and more like a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum because he is not getting his way.

We agree here. But I find Putin's words to ring particularly hollow when he is currently embroiled in a proxy war with the Ukrainians.

Survival against what? Aside from Putin's own made up enemy list no one external has threatened Russia's survival or autonomy.

Only priblem is Putin is fighting windmills he sees Nazis everywhere and trys to play off the evil west is attempting world domination. This works when he controls the Russian media you know i take that back Russian scholars are figuring it out. I Read an article from a Russian professor that was enlightening. So at least thw educated is figuring out Putins game.

His support will disapear in the major cities but hell keep his support in rural areas. Problem is the people with money will start fighting his policies including his anti western pipe dream. Relize Russia today is not soviet Russia people have visited other countries and well aware of external politics. And they know there's ni threat to Russia.

The only question is how far will this nutjob go to keep power because evwn he doeant believe thw stuff he saying. I think the only way to rwmove him is violence i fear alot of people are going to die in the upcomming revolution dont think it will be peaceful and Russian tanks will once again be on red square.
