Ah, I see. So Russia getting involved in their neighbors when a foreign power from thousands of miles away is inciting rebellion is unreasonable. But the us going to all corners of the globe, interfering in elections, overthrowing democracies, assassinating rulers 1000miles away, that's all kosher then? You're full of # xcathedra. And if you really believe in all you're saying, I'd advise cutting back on kool aid.

What you should be looking at is the fact that the USA is not using that superpower status to improve the life's of the American people.

Its doing it for the banks, big oil, MIC and the pharma company's.

I would disagree with that. They do it to control the markets and trade goods. This certainly favors the american people.

And to xcathedra I see no facts other than you stating "I'm right" and giving whitewashed versions of history where the us rides up on a white horse wearing plate mail to solve all the world's woes from a sense of altruism.

Lets put it this way. If the USA ceases to be the hegemon, another power will take its place and enact its ideologies and policies on the world. If it's not the USA, it will be China. If it's not China, it will be Russia. If it's not Russia, it will be another country. You get my drift?

It's not that any one country may be using its powers for nefarious purposes (a subjective term). It's that any hegemonic country would use its powers to benefit itself in a global system.

Last time we had countries fail to fill that hegemon void, hitler used germany to start ww2

Theshrinking middle class ismostly due to domestic policy opposed to foriegn policy
That said standard of living is still pretty good considering the sheer size and range of demographics we are talking about.

a reply to: Cypress yes and the frog is fine in the pot of water not even noticing its starting to boil. At any rate, our foreign policy is just the executive arm of our corporate dictators, who create our domestic policy as well. It's a war of domination and subjugation being waged against the world and our own people, but at home it's largely psyops. And if you are not one of the ruling elite, then I guess that makes you a content victim.

The world is a lot smaller than it once was. We don't need one nation to lead us.

We need one set of laws and rules for international commerce that everyone agrees to for the sake of peace. Economic sanctions need to become illegal.

The use of sanctions further separates and destroys international trust. We can't create a global interdependent system for world commerce if one nation sees itself as superior.

Cooperation not control is what is needed moving forward. Technology has thrown us all into each others back yards. The technology to bring us together as One global society exists, but the tech is used for propaganda with a specific agenda that only serves the 1%.

We don't need a one world government. We need sovereign nations THAT RESPECT OUR BORDERS, and stay out of other nations business.

All nations need to be aligned with one common goal. First to establish correct boundaries to ensure the sovereignty of every nation. Then we need to begin working on a long and slow process of eliminating borders and truly coming together as one.

This time we need to know for certain MAN CANNOT SUBDUE MAN, We will eliminate boundaries as the LIGHT within guides us towards the kingdom of our father. A united people's who look out for community without concern for the self.

Shape it according to is interests of the US people?

Certainly not.

Shaped it to the interests of the Bankers, oil, Pharma and Defence corporations then certainly YES! UK and the EU also dance to that very same tune too!

Anyone not blind will realize what you said is undeniable, but for many Americans like myself the values we once at least pretended to have been openly dumped.
We not believe in preemptive strikes and we torture and imprison without trial, kill our own around the world and at home, hide the bodies of our fallen heros basically spit on everything we told the world was right.

USSR lost big time in Afghanistan, get over it. This defeat started the steady decline of the USSR so that it is the pathetically pitiful small power that is Russia left today compared to the former USSR. Russia is just regional power now, not a mighty super power so it can and will be disregarded or forced to flow with bigger all world encompassing tides such as energy and finances. When Russia muscles Ukraine it is just a reflexive reaction to the global markets to control gas pipelines in that region. The US is the only remaining super power that can influence any region on the planet driving globalism and steering it. The opposition to what should be Russia's dominant back yard in Ukraine is proof of Russia's weakness.

The world is as big as it ever was. The general principals of politics are no different than they have ever been. Good luck trying to eliminate the nationalistic boundaries that exist globally, which btw, is exactly the reason the world is running into the geopolitical issues that exist due to European imperialism during the late 19th and earlier to mid 20th century. You cannot have trade while being selfless. If you own a store and just give away everything in your store, you will not be in business very long. Everything you have stated here is naivety. It is not the way the world works nor will our society ever work.

Another point. you cannot create a single global economy -- without an aristocracy -- without eliminating sovereignty and turning the world into a Marxist utopia. That ideal has already been proven unfeasible, for the same reason that there will always rise a hegemony. Someone will always rise to fill a power void.

Well if you want to label me a victim because I have a good job, can provide very well for my family, own a house, a good truck, my boat, enjoy vacation time with the wife and kids, don't have to worry about putting food on the table nor anything remotely close to the crime rate in other parts of the world, have a clean source of water; then so be it. My standard of living is 10 fold better than what my parents had growing up.

The Russian President added that Washington has been trying to create the world “for their own gains.”

Putin does have a rather delusional obsession with the US.

Don't pretend to be short sighted. Wages are contracting while profit expands. This is your children and grandchildrens future we are talking about. The American "me, now" mentality will let people enjoy their own comfort now rather than fighting for the rights and lifestyle that are being stolen from their babies, and think nothing of it.

Yes its an article on oil prices and a conspiracy between Saudi and the US. I made a thread on it and you guys made a different one because you didn't like the info in mine.

However I will ask again -

Where has the US attacked Russia?

If you are going to try and argue oil prices then I will remind you Russia is, and has been, using its gas supplies to attack Ukraine and Europe.

1) Attacking ally Gaddafi

2) Attacking ally Assad

3) Attacking ally Yanukovych

4) Attacking with media warfare

5) Attacking with economic warfare

If you weren`t so focused on Putin you actual would see what your own government was doing.
