Apparently, you're unaware that many people interested in UFOs are disinclined to believe that they are extraterrestrial craft piloted by "aliens".

I'm well aware that some people have chosen to look at it this way, and even the best evidence in this field reduces the alien possibility from slim to none, however to discount it as a possibility entirely is just pedantry and is as ignorance of a similar measure to blind belief.

At the end of the day, aliens and UFOs have become a synonymous topic, and it should be expected that if someone believes they have seen a UFO they will automatically make the leap to " aliens".

I didn't discount it as a possibility. The fact that you made that leap proves that you make leaps in logic.

No, it should not be expected that if someone believes they have seen a UFO they will automatically make the leap to "aliens" as much as the media and you push that notion.

There is nothing wrong with an unscientific viewpoint so long as claims unsupported by testable evidence aren't presented as fact.

That's good because one of my favorite things to do is to talk completely out my butt. But only when I am working to undermine a whole forum.

Apart from if you belong to a group that believes....

UFOs are all secret government technology

UFOs are all modern manifestations of demons

UFOs are all manifestations of the human mind triggered by exposure to certain magnetic and electro magnetic fields

UFOs are all related to as yet no fully understood natural causes ala "Earth Lites" that might well include elements of the mind triggering "visions".

UFOs are all simply projections, related to some arcane world wide psy-op that been ongoing for over 70 years

That's five interest groups that have large numbers of adherents, non of which equate UFOs with aliens at all.

And I should like to point out that the majority of these approaches have the potential to greatly enhance human understanding if they turn out to be correct. ET fantasies, however, make it difficult to winnow out the relevant data.

You forgot time travel and inter-dimensional hypotheses.

The problem is that the media promotes the ET crowd because they're the easiest to write about and to ridicule. The other theories require a little effort to explain and, from a media perspective, that's not worth the effort. They prefer the photo of the couple with missing front teeth standing by their trailer pointing to the sky saying, "Granny saw it, too, but she ain't of a mind to jaw about it with you fellers."

Heh...

I can be a little long winded, but some issues resist simplicity far too readily to explain them using shorthand as it were!

As for stars and flags, flags are used to show appreciation for a thread, and stars are used to show appreciation for a post. There is a flag logo, both on the top and bottom left of every page in the thread. Once you click it, it will change from being a white outline to being totally whited out. The star system works in a similar way. At the top of a post, there is a star emblem, a white outline. Clicking it adds a star. Clicking stars which are already filled in green however, does not work

One thing is for sure; IF the Aliens are real they will NEVER universally (for example going on CNN and heralding their coming) reveal themselves to humankind for the simple reason humankind’ consciousness is not ready. Neither (by the way) will any kind of God EVER universally reveal themselves to the lot of humankind with the level of our mentality.

Why? Because to do that would automatically lower such a being or beings in our consciousness based on: familiarity breeds contempt.

The higher beings, until humans are ready, have to remain mysterious and aloof revealing themselves only to a select group, for not only the group’s sake but the sake of how we view them.

Indeed, the maxim: familiarity breeds contempt means that there will be no Aliens or God on CNN, or subject to the mockery of some tabloid journalism or subject to the lower mind of any of the many pedestrian lights of our time like Fox news, MSNBC, CNN, or other sublime journals like the Enquirer.

Is this elitism? you betcha, its “cast not pearls at the feet of swine in spades…

The human mentality is NOT ready for the sublime, only the ridiculous, imo.

well it could be like when they gave us agriculture and animal husbandry. Hopefully they are in a good mood or it is the anniversary of some god somewhere and they feel like throwing us a bone and allow us to get off fossil fuels and tap into free energy. they could limit our reach to stay within this solar system. I'd be cool with that.

Paid posters are all over the internet, most are ex-military or government employees with no other job prospects, and have decided to sell-out mankind for a paycheck. It is not a matter of whether they exist, it is only a matter of who they are.

You seem to have very specific information about this. What is your source?

I knew you would be curious.

Whitley Strieber in his book The Master of the Key.

Book: The Master of the Key

He said he spoke with a being, and I believe his story though of course there is no absolute truth, who told him the greatest sin a person could commit was failure to allow mankind to thrive, which is best exemplified today in the secrets that are kept by governments, religions, secret societies around the world. Some of it is ancient knowledge and some of it is recent history (911, Kennedy Assassination).

The truth would help mankind see the deception it lives in, and help them reach their full potential.

He said some have seen the light and opted for life at Leavenworth over the uncertainly as to what might happen to your soul after death if you are committing this sin.

I don't buy into the religious version of sin or religion itself, but I believe in a higher power, and just like laws on earth, ignorance is no excuse.

But hey, some people think a paycheck is more important. I admire their courage.

I was about to ask the same question about 'paranormal studies' forum. I am reading some topics and I clearly see people bashing some interesting posts with some really really stupid arguments.

Another thing I want to point out is that nuclear weapons are not necessarily the strongest weapon in this universe. If you played the game that I recommend, called Star Ocean Till the End of Time(there are A LOT of concepts in this game that you can learn, of course, you'll actually have to read the channellings to see where they got the ideas), you will see that there is a laser weapon that can destroy planets, and then galaxies, and so on(and these weapons can destroy the UFOs' souls). Nukes are actually weak relatively. In fact, even including all the discarded nukes, there are not enough nuclear weapons to destroy Earth. Earth is but an atom in this galaxy, yet to destroy her, you need something much more powerful.

Also, just like the Europeans learned to cooperate, it's possible that the UFOs are waiting for us to cooperate and join them, so that we can fight another galaxy, and then after we're done, the galaxies combine and we finally fight against the: Master of the Simulation(there's a quote in the X-Men where Xavier referred to Magneto as the Master of Magnetism. It's possible that we will be meeting true X-men or mutants, as we explore other galaxies. Hey, if this is a simulation, then pretty much anything is possible).

By the way, to further add to my last post several pages back, this very situation and type of thread has cropped up on this forum before. Many of you probably don't remember them, but Maybe Maybe Not and Doomsdayrex were two of the very best at debunking things and bringing critical thinking to these subjects without the belittling involved. So take a page from their book.

I agree with a number of points mentioned:

1. Misleading thread titles with absolutes
2. Skeptics are helpful
3. Not enough scrutiny by the believers
4. Derailing or on some I'm right crusade is not helpful to the discussion

Now in the 1000's of aliens and ufo threads on ATS there are some threads with amazing evidence. Why aren't those stickied? Thats a more serious question, IMO.

Humans were probably better off before agriculture and animal husbandry. For sure non-human animals were. If there are deities or other superior beings pulling the string, they don't like us. We're either their ant farm or, as John Keel said, we're the Disneyland of the Gods.

You are aware, aren't you, that believing that life, including so-called intelligent life, exists on other planets is not the same as believing that they're doing fly-bys and sticking probes into people here on Earth, right?

Some good notes here for new members like me.

I would like to add that it is election season and the number of paid political trolls is up.
I know this to be a fact as I have turned down three offers from my Facebook activities.
When elections are over maybe it will calm down a bit.

Also with all of the breaking world news that relies on science that is new and unfamiliar internet searches can lead to ATS as the best page with the information searched for. This can lead to a lot of new members on board that do not realize what a wealth of information can be brought forward here by following the rules and building a good wiki of knowledge.

We are privileged here to get to ask questions and interact with the story in a coherent way. That is something news reports and Facebook are not designed for.

If you think aliens or conspiracies do not exist because your belief system or political party says they don't then this is not a web site for you. If you want the scant facts available they are buried in here somewhere and it is up to the participants to flush out the facts. I have had my hopes dashed here with facts. Darn it.

Yes.
Every single light you see in the sky is "not of this world," as you are told within 30 seconds of the start of every UFO documentary, and if it's a picture or video posted here, it's a blurd, it's a drone, and don't forget that chinese lanterns fly faster than jets and make 30 degree angled turns.

Would you care to point out, with specific examples, exactly where I spun anything in that post?
