Titor's babble is typical of BS junk science, combined with enough Hollywood science fiction to feel like it makes sense.

Any gravity strong enough to bend light, bends ALL LIGHT, not just the light in a laser pointer.

The distortion only occurs outside of the vehicle.

Only light outside of the vehicle should be distorted.

The only light outside of the vehicle in that picture is from the laser, and it is bent/distorted.

Try to consider how wrong that statement is.

Can you explain to us what you think should have happened in that pic? If it is not what you think it should be, then what is it you think should be there?

Sorry, I don't see the error in my explanation.

Perhaps you are misinterpreting what I am describing, or not understanding it.

The affect of distortion is occurring outside of the vehicle. They are inside the vehicle.

What you are suggesting is alike the effect of wind outside of a moving vehicle. You are suggesting that the inside of a closed moving vehicle should be affected by the wind outside. (a simile, of course)

The first problem, is the presence of a local gravity field so large that it bends light, but has not physical effect on surrounding objects -- such as crushing the person in the vehicle, or the vehicle itself. But we don't need to go there.

The next problem is the horrible quality of the photo supposedly from the future. Right now, the cheapest smart phone one can obtain takes photos that are several magnitudes better than the one presented.

But that doesn't address the very simple failure in physics.

If there was a "gravity bubble" so intense it bends light, there are several problems with the photo -- presuming the photo is of an observer witnessing such a phenomenon.

1) The effect on light, in such a situation, is immediate -- not a nice gradual arch.

2) The effect would be on ALL LIGHT (how is that hard to understand?). Meaning everything -- all light from the background, going through such a phenomenon, to the observer.

3) A light source inside such a phenomenon would not appear effected, as the light would be bent in such a way as to look normal to the observer -- because it's passing through the phenomenon to reach the observer.

So, a correct representation of such a phenomenon, according to physics, is a straight laser through the phenomenon, while light (visible objects) behind the phenomenon are distorted.

First of all, the clarity of the picture has no relevance to the effect that I am talking about.

Also, the effect of a gravity bubble under the conditions you describe is just conjecture. I am not aware of dual contained micro singularities being harnessed and being used as Titor explained, to know of the actual effects it would cause.

But that is not the main point of my argument. I am specifically addressing the affect of the apparent exterior gravity well, or magnet field, and the laser light interacting with it. I disagree that all the light in that picture should be distorted.

The observer (photographer) is Titor, and he is inside the vehicle. Titor said that his instructor was giving him a demonstration of the effect in that picture. So it is safe to conclude that they were both inside the vehicle. The point of view in that picture clearly appears from inside to me as well.

That's now how I explained it.

All light passing through the phenomenon WILL appear -- to the observer -- to be distorted, if such a thing were to exist in that setting. That includes objects behind it, because light needs to pass through the supposed phenomenon in order for you to see those objects behind the supposed phenomenon.

Boris --

It's simple: If gravity is bending the light the camera is seeing from the laser, then why isn't it bending the light from the objects we can see behind the laser? The light from the things behind the laser is moving toward the camera through the exact same spot that the allegedly bent laser light is passing.

The simple question is: Why isn't the light from the objects we see behind the laser also bending on the way to the camera?

This. I can't believe this is still going on. The photo is FAKE!

People want to believe "the fantastic" so much, reason is thrown away.

A fake photo used to justify the improbable -- time travel; John Titor.

Fake photos used to justify the improbable -- aliens exclusively hanging around a swiss farmer; Billy Meier.

It's all the same.

Would it be correct, or at least as close to it I can get, to assume that the bending of light you are talking about SkepticOverlord might perhaps be best illustrated, for clarity and a visual to the explanation, by the fisheye filter that can be applied to photos? I'm not positive it represents what you are explaining perfectly, but I think it gives a sense and might lend better understanding ... and hopefully puts this issue to rest.

We might expect the street our 'time machine' was located on to look like this in its surroundings if we were inside the machine looking out and above.

By asking a series of rhetorical questions, anyone could predict what is most likely to happen given a common set of variables. Progressing from the changes that have already happened in technology toward where technology is most likely to go, is just a matter of gauging rates of change and leaning toward convenience.

For example with the rate of digital change happening now, I predict that we won't be using keyboards, mouses and square monitors for much longer; instead we'll use holographic "screens" that appear in the air wherever we direct them to be, and they can be camouflaged so only the director knows where it is and what's on it. All will be operated on voice command.

This is not a vision of the future, it is simply thinking through a series of "if/then" hypothetical statements to determine what is most likely to result from each former hypothetical (while generously applying Occam's razor).

One way that hints John Titor did something like this to reach his conclusions is that, although he was correct on several generalities, he was lousy at determining how long each hypothetical was going to take to cycle to the next. So what we have now on the other end is a string of plausible "hits" but they don't match up wth Titor's original timeline.

Good at plausible hypotheticals; bad at chronology.

My prediction is that there is no nuclear war in 2015 or even 2016. The USA/NATO itself are not ready for it. The conditions are not right.

While USA has taken several steps in the last 10 years, the same has not happened in the European countries.

If Titor predicted a nuclear war in 2015, it is not happening.

The precursors to a great war are still taking shape. The conflicts have started but at a small and seemingly "manageable" form.

The greatest change happening today are robot armies - planes that are controlled remotely, land vehicles that are controlled remotely etc. Ultimately robots in millions will be deployed in the next war.

The soldiers will fight too - and many of them will be assisted by robotic technologies like exo-skeletons. Such technologies will be used by both warring sides.

The assault rifle will no longer be effective in the coming war. The bigger weapons will be the main killer like large calibre rifles, rockets and missiles.

Ultimately nuclear weapons will be used against large cities by both sides.

The predictions are not good but the god-lovers and righteous have nothing to fear.

Many wars have happened on this planet yet society has moved on.

The same will happen with this war too. Too much militarization has happened on this planet led by USA. The war will consume the stores built over several decades and ultimately humanity will restart and peace will prevail for at least 100 years.

The key is to NOT BELIEVE the lies of your governments. Create your own support groups and self-help is the best way forward.

Let's see if this prediction come through.

Likely the Pope knows about the prediction too.
