public safety doesn't trump the constitution.

It sure does, because your "rights" don't trump my safety.

Two nights of riots and looting...why are you ignoring that?

A spokesman are you?

What does what happened last night have to do with our rights today?

Public safety = police have the right to kill you if they fear for there life

Citizen has the right to obey and submit or be killed or punished.

I think you two are on the same page, but you just don't know it.

Question is, who is following the rules?

Don't get us started on Obuma.

Ben Franklin would disagree
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

It's nuts that we live in a "free" country but our journalists are not only being fired upon, arrested, tear gassed, asked to stop reporting, asked to turn off their cameras, and now they have to find a "workaround" to get the news out through the censors....

Unreal.

Anyone with an actual understanding of this situation has grasped that this has gone beyond anything that can be defined as a "Peaceful Protest vs the Police."

There has been geographical blocking of twitter, which is censorship. Members of the media have been fired upon and have been asked to stop reporting on this issue. A crowd of protesters with their arms in the air were fired upon by both rubber bullets and tear gas. A no fly zone has been imposed over the area.

This has now become the citizens and their fundamental freedoms against blatant oppression and obvious tyranny.

Not forgetting anything. I can tell the difference between a peaceful protest and riots. My neighbor breaking the law doesn't make me a criminal. We've got police firing tear gas at people in their own yards and arresting journalists. Are you going to tell me that's acceptable conduct because some other people caused destruction and did some looting the previous night?

You're right. They were up there more than one night in a row, and this is almost funny for the 'it's that time again' nature of it seeming to just poop out within a very short period from engagement. Then again, tactics being used are far more aggressive than what I faced with Occupy. Then again, Occupy was in the heart of St Louis with media buildings literally within eyeball sight in some cases. That probably saved us some of this. The response wasn't nearly this developed either.

Whatever the case on that though, the cops have 24 hours between the evening start of things to plan it out for a better result. This was someone's concept of a BETTER approach from previous nights. Sounds like an accountability issue that someone should demand gets looked into.

They have every right to be there. The freedom to assemble does not have a curfew or times of day when it can be exercised. This is/was the United States of America, We have the freedom to travel anytime of day or night without needing permission.

And they were assembled two nights in a row...which resulted in riots and looting.

It is funny how all of you are conveniently forgetting that.

You keep pushing the looting and rioting thing. Funny, most of the videos I have seen tonight have been peaceful and mixed crowds assembling because of the show of force.

I bet you would have been a laugh during the American Revolution...

What happened the past two nights is what has prompted this police response.

If you deny that, you are just lying to yourself.

Take a look at these pictures.
www.buzzfeed.com...

Look at the pictures of the riots and looting from the previous two nights. Do you see the one with they guy carrying a gun in his waistband?

Why do you think the police shouldn't respond to events like this?
