The swastika (卐) (Sanskrit: स्वस्तिक) is a symbol that generally takes the form of an equilateral cross, with its four arms bent at 90 degrees. The earliest archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization as well as the Mediterranean Classical Antiquity and paleolithic Europe. Swastikas have been used in various other ancient civilizations around the world including Turkic, India, Iran, Armenia, Nepal, China, Japan, and Europe. However in Korea, this symbol (卐) is only considered as a symbol of Nazi, Hakenkreuz. On the contrary, the symbol with the opposite direction (卍) is used as a symbol of Buddhism.[1] At least in Korea, only the symbol with the anticlockwise arms has the similar meaning of swastika. Notice the different direction. [2] It represents the principle originating the universe, or life (Brahman), with the four swirling arms representing the four directions of the manifest universe (the four faces of Brahma).[3] It remains widely used in Indian religions and Far Eastern religions.
The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" (meaning "good" or "auspicious") combined with "asti" (meaning "being")[citation needed], along with the diminutive suffix "ka." The swastika literally means "well-being." It is a common practice for Hindus to draw Swastika symbols on the doors and entrances to their houses during festivals, which is believed to symbolize an invitation to goddess Lakshmi.[4] The name "sauwastika" is sometimes given to the left-facing arms symbol, which is a mirror image of swastika (卍).[5]
The symbol has a long history in Europe reaching back to antiquity. In modern times, following a brief surge of popularity as a good luck symbol in Western culture, a swastika was adopted as a symbol of the Nazi Party of Germany in 1920, who used the swastika as a symbol of the Aryan race. A right-facing 45° rotated swastika was incorporated into the flag of the Nazi Party, which was made the state flag of Germany during the Nazi era, after Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933. Hence in many western countries the swastika is stigmatized as being associated with Nazism and related concepts like antisemitism, hatred, violence, death, and murder.[6] Notably, the swastika has been outlawed in Germany and other countries if used as a symbol of Nazism in certain instances. Many modern white nationalist and Neo-Nazi groups such as the Russian National Unity use stylized swastikas or similar symbols

There are certainly Chechen mercenaries available for hire, but they also answer to Chechen strongman Ramzan Kadyrov, who is fiercely loyal to Putin. Kadyrov has denied sending anyone to fight in Ukraine, but in an otherwise hard-to-explain twist, he personally negotiated the recent release of two Russian journalists held by pro-Ukraine forces. It is inconceivable that Kadyrov would send fighters to Ukraine without Moscow's approval or, more likely, instructions.
This conflict is following a script more than 20 years old: Russia intervenes in its ex-Soviet neighborhood using “volunteers,” including Chechens, and unmarked Russian military equipment to provide deniability.

It seems separatists in Eastern part are not well armed and coordinated. And despite the general belief, they are not really Russian Special Forces. A dozen SFs which are well armed can create a havoc in a given area and quickly destroy multiple targets and disappear in the thin air.
Separatists need to be armed with Igla anti aircraft type weapons that can make it very very risky for Kiev to send in airplanes and helicopters full of troops and ammunition. The ofcourse are RPGs 7 and 29 grade and anti-material sniper rifles that can take out tanks and APCs.
Russia needs to supply these in earnest and good numbers to the pro-Russia elements and make it an Afghanistan for Kiev. Soon soldiers will refuse to even fight and desert in droves.
Kiev is better of giving independence to the Eastern region and focus on whatever is left of the country they once had. Idiots !!

All the more reason for NATO involvement now.
why is that? Is Ukraine a NATO member?
By the way, I have no doubt that US is doing everything possible in assisting Junta forces apart from sending troops.
Intelligence, cookies...you name it.

if it does do that then are other nations not open to return the same to Russia and support anti Putin forces in Russia?

If NATO gets involved in Ukraine then NATO might not leave Afghanistan for next two decades. Even after 2014 with the end of combat operations, a soldier in Afghanistan will cost $200K a year. In active combat, the annual cost is $2M a year per soldier.
Putin can support rebels by declaring some weapons warehouse was raided and items stolen. A General and 5 other officers got fired as security was breached under his watch. Very intense search for weapons is on............
Then these weapons show up in rebels hand and negate the Kiev's ability to involve air assets with total freedom. RPG7 and higher grade can be make in crude but effective forms in any factory the size of a garage. In Afghanistan you get them cheaply. Ukraine does not have M1-A1 type tanks that can withstand the RPG-7 assault. Old T-72s, T-64s that Ukraine has would be very much hurt in a close range RPG hit.
End of the day, Putin supplied weapons and on paper he still did not.
