The head of NATO, locked in its gravest confrontation with Russia since the Cold War, condemned Putin's visit to Crimea, whose annexation in March has not been recognised by Western powers.
a reply to: dragonridr

Who the bloody Hell is head of NATO to approve if Putin to visit Crimea where 97% of citizens voted to become a part of Russia.

It is NATO nations in the first place who spoiled the peace and normal lives of Ukrainians.........via covert NGO/CIA mechanisms.

Incorrect.

If only 15% had voted in favor, there would have been public protests and loud voices against Crimea joining Russia. All we hear is "happy news" from the locals.

You are again sliding into the dark abyss of NGO/CIA backed propaganda.

Video filmed in Mariupol today. Around the 2:50 mark you can see a civilian firing a handgun in the direction of the National Guard units and blending in with the crowd afterwards:

Evidence disproving the "innocent, unarmed civilians killed by the junta" theory keep piling up...

The mods have already warned about the bickering and to keep on topic.

Personally I used this thread to check updates about the Ukraine yet due to the constant bickering and from the same five people it has become a nuisance. As such I have been going elsewhere to get the news on the Ukraine.

Xcathdra, You need to stop responding to the trolls. Post updates and stop letting them bait you into lengthy responses. As bad as some of the people are you are not helping by entering into a debate with them. You have been around here long enough to know better.

I was scrolling through the list for the hashtag #Ukraine on Twitter and a few Tweets did mention a man carrying a gun and shooting at the Ukrainian army. I don't know how true that is.

@SkyNewsBreak: Update - Reuters: #Ukraine Foreign Ministry says about 20 "terrorists" were killed in fighting in Mariupol

MARIUPOL, Ukraine — Ukrainian security forces wielding rocket-propelled grenades attacked a police station in this city of half a million on Friday, reducing the building to smoldering rubble and killing at least seven people, according to local residents who say they watched the assault.

The attack signaled what appeared to be a major escalation in the interim government’s fight with pro-Russian militants in southeastern Ukraine, and came two days after President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia urged that the separatists delay a referendum scheduled for Sunday and that all sides settle their differences through dialogue.

Hours after the assault, the bodies of two of the dead were still lying in the street, possibly victims of gunfire that the security forces leveled against a crowd of people who broke away from a pro-Russian Victory Day march to lend support to the police inside the station, residents said.

Not with the Russian army there to back up the 15 percent. And we are starting to hear things out of Crimea even there attacking groups who were against annexation such as the Tatars and Ukrainian. still armed Russians on the streets disbanded the police claiming there corupt (didnt want any other armed units other than them).

Nonsense. Dissenters get beaten or killed. Pro-Russian thugs have proven that. And who is going to go out and protest en masse with a bunch of Russian special forces standing around with loaded Kalashnikovs?

I cannot believe how some pro-Kremlin people are trying to depict the crowd in Mariupol today as "peaceful protesters". Yes, they were so "peaceful" the vast majority of them brought firearms and shot at Ukrainian soldiers who quite rightly fired back.
