None of the men appearing in the video seem to fit the profile of the Ukrainian soldier as was seen in the last days, but rather that of the pro-Russian "self-defense" forces:

Later edit: One of the BTR's seems to be flying a Russian airborne flag.

Since there is so much propaganda on both sides, I would propose if you guys can make updates with pics and videos only instead
of bombastic short statements by those who post those things.

Pro-federalization activists in Ukraine’s southeastern city of Donetsk say more than 50 military armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Army have been spotted in the region and are now closing on the city.

And Odessa declared independence

The "Anti-Maidan" in Odessa has announced the People’s Republic of Odessa and urged residents to block traffic in the city. "From today, the Odessa region becomes the People’s Republic of Odessa, where the power belongs to the people living in its territory," a statement on the official website of the "Anti-Maidan" reads. Activists urged city residents to block traffic in Odessa, having pointed 153 places on a special map on Yandex, where people should block traffic. It is planned to block the traffic for all kinds of transport, except ambulances. "At 16:00 tomorrow, Odessa must get blocked! Literally," the appeal reads. "Everybody who has not yet realized that the war had come to our houses should not go to work tomorrow," the activists of the "Anti-Maidan" said.

I think there is one big problem in this thread! I like Asen´s posts, because they seem to be rather neutral most of the time - he just reports the news. But I don´t like posters who are 100% convinced that their opinion is the one and only "right" opinion!

One thing has to be clear: Nobody on this thread knows the truth! What I have learned from my own research, from my contacts in the Ukraine, and from my visits in the Ukraine is that there is so much propaganda right now!! In the beginning most of the propaganda came from the Western politicians and media, but now Russian propaganda has caught up. We can´t be sure of anything that is reported! Be it from the news or from Tweets. It´s good that these news/tweets get reported here, but we shouldn´t take everything as fact!

There are people here who say that everything the Russian side says is wrong, and that only Ukrainian/Western politicians/news outlets say the truth. And there are people on here who say exact the opposite! I think the truth lies somewhere in between. The best thing we could do is listen to the Ukrainians! They know it best, and they are the ones who suffer from this situation the most!

And from my experience even the Ukrainians are everything but unified in their opinion. Many Ukrainians (at least most of the Ukrainians I know) wish that Maidan would have never happened! Maidan made a big mess and split the Ukrainians in two. Now it´s either pro-Russian or against Russian. But they want to be Ukrainians, and everything (ok, not everything) was ok before the "revolution" on Maidan nezalezhnosti. Now Ukrainians in the South and East have to chose either EU or Russia. Many, many Ukrainians don´t want any of the two. They just want to be Ukrainians. And many of them blame the West for starting the problems.

And the thing about the Nazis: It´s a fact that many Ukrainians consider the right sector as fascists. And after reading the "party guidelines" (is this the correct word?) of Svoboda, I must say that they are in about the same political corner as NSDAP was in Nazi-Germany! The big portrait of Stepan Bandera that I saw on Maidan Nezalezhnosti confirms the view of many that there are too many fascist elements within the new government. Another fact is that my friends in Chernigov (north of Kiev), who can speak Ukrainian only with a Russian accent, are afraid to travel to the west of Ukraine! If it´s justified or not, doesn´t matter! It´s a fact that they are afraid of the pravyi sektor!

Another fact is that the people I know who live in Krym, voted for Russia, because they don´t want to live under this "new government" in Kiev. Voting against this government led to them ending up in Russia, but to them this was the lesser evil. And many, many Ukrainians in mainland Ukraine also don´t want to live under this government.

I am at a point now, where I don´t believe anything that is said anywhere without verifying it myself. You can´t trust the Russians, you can´t trust Kiev, you can´t trust the West! Listen to the Ukrainians! To ALL of them! To the pro-EU Ukrainians, to the pro-russian Ukrainians, and to the pro-Ukraine Ukrainians (who are the majority)!

So please, don´t write as if you know everything for a fact - because you don´t! At least in most cases.

In the begining before i knew it stopped dispensing, I tried around 10-15 ATMs. Finally found 1 which gave cash, later another. My friends tell the same for them. Till now the others ATMs are not working. Looks like only specific bank ATMs are dispensing cash, and note, I have a foreign card.
This was on and off for the last 3 months, finally around 20 days back they stopped dispensing permanantly, only these two work now, dont know how long it will last.

Not good then.

Be safe dude. Be safe.

If it goes full on and you have to get out and there's nowhere else to go, there's a bed here in Yorkshire if you can get here. Seriously.

Interesting developments coming out of Ukraine this morning with the news that 6 armoured personnel carriers and their crew have either defected to Russia or are being trapped. Finally it appears Western media are running this news at the top of the hour for the first time in a while. Eastern Ukraine seems it is on the brink of imploding.
