My condolences Jane.

My thoughts are with you. Family troubles are always a pain in the ***.

That's why every time I have them, I usually just tell them to do what they want and walk away. Drives them nuts. ( A lot of control freaks in my family)

Oh, wow,you lucky ducks are getting together?
I'm too far to join, I'm afraid, and we are currently saving, so my husband can open his own business.

I used to travel a lot before I got married. A lot of European countries, some in Asia and the Middle East.
I love learning about other countries' cultures.

I hear you.
I'm afraid this is something going around all over the globe. Last night we had 15 Celsius and hard rain, this afternoon we had a very warm and sunny 25 Celsius, the weather has gone mad!

Thanks TDawgRex,

I have all weekend to catch up, and enjoy reading, so that's a plus.

Here ye go RR! (This will save you having to do too much searching through the thread to find the parts!)

After “Valentines and Rainbows”, came...
The Shed A Tale of Everyday Heroes, Of Friendship, Love, Gerbils, Adventure and New Beginnings!
By: Jacygirl Springtime 2014
The Shed, Part 1
Lost and alone, she limped over uneven ground and broken branches...searching for signs of life. Using her dirty sleeve to wipe the tears from her face, she looked towards the clearing. A small wisp of smoke could be seen rising in the distance. With heart pounding, she slowly worked her way towards the tell-tale sign of human existence. "Fire!" she exclaimed. Where there's smoke...there's fire. Where there's fire...there are people. As she moved forward, she patted the little knapsack slung over her bruised shoulder. "We'll be okay soon," she whispered. A furry face popped up and looked at her quizically. "Hush ferret," she smiled. "I'm sure they will help us." Jacy rubbed her gurgling stomach. Lack of food was making her weak, and her lost days in the forest were taking their toll. Relying on the generosity of strangers made her feel vulnerable, but she didn't have a choice now. "Yeah, I bet you're hungry too," she said, while stroking the ferret's face. When she was close enough to focus, Jacy thought she was hallucinating. After days of nothing but trees and wildlife...she was approaching what she feared was perhaps a mirage of sorts. A perfectly manicured property, with house, shed and camper van all painted in various colours. "Soooo pretty," she murmured, looking around with eyes wide. As she got closer she could hear voices, and the aroma of bacon made her empty stomach groan. Sophie's head popped up again. The little ferret sniffed the air and looked towards the house. "I know, bacon!" Jacy exclaimed. "You like bacon, don't you? Maybe they even have bananas!" she laughed. As she stepped onto the damp grass, a pretty lady with long dark hair came out of the rainbow-striped house. "You made it!" she grinned. "Umm...hello? Where am I exactly?" Jacy asked suspiciously. "This is the land of No Time. My name is Jane, and we have been expecting you." Jane put her arm around Jacy and led her towards the kitchen door. "Hey, how are you expecting me, when I'm lost?" Jacy asked. "You're not lost, you're exactly where you're supposed to be." Jane answered. "Now, come in and meet the others."

The Shed Part 2
Entering the kitchen, Jacy could see a group of people sitting around an old oak table. There were steaming plates of food, over-flowing fruit bowls....and a full pot of coffee. "Ohh...I'm in Heaven!" she exclaimed. Jane led her to a chair while a pretty girl with pixie ears placed a plate of food and a mug of coffee in front of her. Jacy murmured, "Thank you" and looked around at all the smiling faces. "How do you know me?" she inquired. "How are you expecting me?" The pixie-girl reached into Jacy's satchel and placed Sophie in front of a bowl of fruit pieces. "I'm Night Star," she said shyly, pushing a banana slice towards the hungry ferret. "Nice to meet you Night Star," Jacy mumbled in between mouthfuls. "Can someone please explain to me what's going on here?" Jane came over and gave her a hug. "You're among friends now," she said. "Kindred souls...kind hearts...and much love." Just as Jacy opened her mouth to respond, she heard the 'thud thud thud' of heavy footsteps. Turning in her chair, she gasped at what she saw. A huge man with long dark hair flung himself into a chair. "Found the rum!" he said, pouring a large quantity into his coffee mug. Jacy peered under the table, unsure of what she had just witnessed. Was he wearing 'bunny slippers'? Seeing her perplexed expression, the large man extended a rather large hand. "I'm TrueBrit, pleased to finally meet you girl!" "Hello sir," Jacy said, placing her hand in his. She leaned across the table and whispered, "Am I dreaming?"

The Shed Part 3
Laughter erupted amongst the crowd. Night Star looked at TrueBrit, Jane and the others, and in a concerned voice said, "Maybe we should tell her about the 'dimensions'?" Jacy stopped eating and stood up abruptly. "Dimensions?" TrueBrit tossed back the contents of his mug, and then looked directly at the now frightened girl. "Dimensions...alternate dimensions...you KNOW this, you just have to remember!" Sitting down again, Jacy shrugged. "All I can remember, is that I was lost." "And now you're found!" smiled a petite blonde girl. "Hi, I'm Tsu...we are sisters in the land of No Time." Jacy sniffed her coffee cup, wondering if it had been spiked. She eyed the big man with the rum bottle. "Sounds like Alice in Wonderland stuff to me." Jane patted her shoulder and refilled her coffee cup. "Maybe Gordi can explain it?" she asked the group. "Och, woman...ye've given me enough jobs this bright mornin'!" a Scottish accent echoed from another room. "Bloody bureau of yours....move it here, move it there..." Tsu jumped up out of her seat, "Never mind Gordi, I'll tell her!" Jacy craned her neck, looking for the man they called Gordi. "Can someone please just tell me what's happening?" Tsu lifted the now sleeping ferret and cradled it in her lap. "I will explain it to you Jaky." "It's Jacy!" "I know," she grinned. "I am your soul sister. So is Jane, and Night Star...and there are others. On earth we have 'blood family' but we also have 'soul family'. You were lost, because you have lost your blood family. We, your soul family...have simply assisted you in transitioning to a slightly different dimension...where we can help you and keep you safe." She patted Jacy's knee...as if this now explained everything. Jacy looked around the table, as everyone was nodding in agreement and smiling. Night Star stood up, placed her mug in the sink and then turned to Jacy. "You're staying with me, in the shed!" she exclaimed, rather excited. "You live in the shed?" Jacy asked, still thinking she was dreaming. "Oh, it's not just a regular shed!" Night Star laughed. "It's a magical shed...we have dragons in there!" "Looks pretty small to me..." Jacy shook her head. "Dragons...dragons aren't even real..." TrueBrit uncrossed his long legs, and shook a bunny-slipper-encased foot at the new arrival. "Wot's real?" he asked.

The Shed Part 4
"What is real indeed? Hello, I'm Cody!" A smiling man came over and kissed Jacy on the hand. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, m'lady." Jacy blushed and smiled back at him. She turned to Jane and asked, "How many people are there here?" Jane laughed as she replied, "Oh well...you still haven't met fossilera, Serdgiam, TheDoctor46....then there are the others who just pop in for a visit!" Feeling better for the food and coffee, Jacy started to relax a little. "Can you tell me more about the dimensions?" she asked. Night Star moved over to sit beside Jacy. "What is the last thing you remember, before you became lost?" she inquired. Taking a moment to think hard, Jacy looked at all the people in the kitchen. "Well...I was on my computer. I was sad...feeling lonely...just me and Sophie...and...I don't know...I think I fell asleep?" she trailed off. "NO! You woke up!" Tsu insisted. Every head was nodding in agreement. "But...I woke up in the woods? How did I get from my apartment...to the woods?" She threw her hands up, not understanding how everyone else seemed so calm. Sensing her frustration, TrueBrit stood up, towering over the others. "The computer carried your thoughts and emotions through time and space, alerting your soul family." he explained calmly. "We used focus and intent to slide you into this dimension, so you could be with us here." Having no response to that information, Jacy just sat and blinked a few times. "Why are you wearing bunny slippers?" she whispered to the big man. "Bad feet!" he said, matter-of-factly. "Nothing makes any sense...." she replied. "Do you have tea parties with Mad Hatters too?" Jane laughed out loud. "We have parties all the time. It's all a big party! Parties and rainbows!" At that moment Gordi walked towards the sink and proceeded to wash yellow paint off his hands. "Ye're all scaring the wee lass!" he exclaimed. "Jane, ye're bloody bureau is drying in the sun...why don't you take the lass on a tour? Show her around a bit?" Tsu and Night Star jumped up and clapped their hands. "Show her the dragons!" "Show her the shed!" Jacy stood up and motioned towards the half empty rum bottle. "May I?" she asked. TrueBrit poured a shot into her coffee mug. She tossed back the shot and grimaced. "I'm expecting a white rabbit to come running through the room, yelling "I"m late...I'm late...for a very important date!" She giggled a little nervously. TrueBrit threw his head back and guffawed. "How do you think I got my slippers?" he said with a wink.

The Shed Part 5
Jane clucked at TrueBrit disapprovingly, and everyone laughed. "Tsk, don't be telling her things like THAT, poor girl doesn't remember you yet!" Jacy looked around at everyone, wondering what exactly she was supposed to remember. "Hey...can I ask a question?" she said quietly. "Did you all come through the woods too? Am I still in my own neighborhood?" There was a slight silent pause...and then everyone doubled over with laughter. Fossilera yelled out, "No! I had to walk barefoot through snow to get here!" Serdgiam stood up claiming, "I had to walk backwards through the desert!" "Oh here they go again!" grinned Tsu. Voices continued to ring out, "I had to run backwards up a hill in sleet and hail! Ten miles it was, one way!" Jacy stood up and put her hand to her forehead. "I feel like I'm in that Hobbit movie...." Jane motioned to Night Star and Tsu to take Jacy outside. As the three walked out of the kitchen, Night Star began to explain how they got there. "We all feel like we are lost and alone in the woods, at some time. During this time we feel that we will never be found. But you never were truly alone. You have a soul family....a core group of people who are always with you, but not visible until you take the walk." Jacy just stared blankly back at her. "Uh-huh...okay....still feeling lost here...?" By this time they had made their way across the yard towards the shed. Some multi-coloured chairs were sat nearby under a rainbow motif umbrella. Night Star led Jacy to a chair. Tsu sat down on the ground at Jacy's feet and linked their hands together. "You feel like you were walking for days, but you really weren't. You were being brought into this dimension to be with all of us. Your mind wouldn't be able to accept the sudden change in scenery, so it goes through a 'three days of darkness' episode. It's kind of like going through a worm-hole." "Am I a missing person now?" Jacy asked softly. "No...oh no, that's the beauty of it!" Night Star said. "You are still 'there' in the physical, living your life. But you're soul is here. You can go back anytime you want. Cody is back and forth all the time. You will see many others stop by. Now that you have taken 'the walk', the hard part is over. From here on, it's all magical!" Tsu stood up, still holding Jacy's hand. "C'mon...it's time to show you The Shed." The threesome walked, hand-in-hand like children on an adventure. As they approached the shed, Jacy shook her head and turned to the others. "It just looks like a garden shed to me...except that it's painted like a rainbow." "We know, we know!" the girls nodded in agreement. As Night Star put her hand on the door handle, she paused for a moment. "Are you ready for some magic?" she said with a big grin. Jacy took a deep breath and nodded. "Let's go in."

The Shed Part 6
As the door creaked open, the three girls walked into the darkness. Night Star lit a candle and motioned for the others to follow her. "I can't see anything!" Jacy whispered. "Just wait a moment." Tsu whispered back. They huddled together, eyes squinting to adjust. The candle flame started to flicker and grow. Tiny orbs of light seemed to emerge from the fire, and fly off in different directions. As they bounced around the room like fire-flies, Jacy watched with awe. She opened her mouth to speak, when suddenly the orbs came together and exploded! The room was flooded with an amber hue. "How is this possible?" Jacy asked. The tiny garden shed was enormous inside. Rooms and hallways began to appear as she looked around in complete confusion. Jacy had never been inside a mansion, but she was pretty sure that this place qualified. She kept blinking her eyes...it all seemed a little blurry. Letting out a little gasp, she collapsed onto the floor. Tsu looked at Night Star, "Do you think she will remember...when she wakes up?" "Of course she will. We all remember eventually. She's just fighting it right now. I'll go get Jane." As she opened her eyes, a feeling of complete calm enveloped her. She felt warm and happy...and loved. "Am I dead?" Jacy asked. Laughter erupted, and she sat up and looked around at all the smiling faces. "I know you," she said to fossilera. "And you," she turned to face TrueBrit. "I remember...I REMEMBER!!" With a shriek and a flap, a huge bird swooped into the room and landed on her shoulder. "Grayeagle!" she exclaimed. "Nice to see you finally made it!" the bird replied. Cody walked into the room, placing a large crate on the table. "Rodinus sent us some wine for the party!" he said, pulling out bottles and blowing the dust off. "He sent the good stuff, so he must be planning to show up this time." Jane clapped her hands together, and said "Well I'm off back to the kitchen...got sausage rolls in the oven." She walked over to hug Jacy, and whispered in her ear "I'm glad you're back, enjoy the shed. I've got to get ready for the party!" Crappiekat was quietly setting out glasses for the wine, humming softly to herself. "You're going to meet a lot more family tonight, Jacy! It should be fun...the ogre hunters are coming too, though they're a bit rowdy!" she laughed, blushing a little. "I'm sorry...did you say 'ogre hunters'?" "Yes...TDawg and Homer...although technically I think TDawg is still considered an ogre...not a hunter..." she drifted off without finishing. "Okay, I'm done here for now. Night Star is with the dragons, and Tsu has taken Sophie exploring...so someone will be along shortly to show you how to use your magic!" She smiled and wiped her hands on her rainbow apron. "I'm starting to sense a theme here," Jacy joked...motioning towards the rainbow. "Oh yes, Jane loves rainbows! To her, it signifies that all colours are beautiful...and so are we!" Alone for the first time, Jacy sat back and closed her eyes. She wondered who was coming to teach her magic, and really REALLY hoped that she would get to see the dragons. After a few minutes of carefree daydreaming, she heard the shed door open. Her eyes flew open just in time to see a large figure silhouetted in the doorway. He seemed to be wearing a hazmat suit, or something similar. From inside the device a voice called out..."Did someone send for TheDoctor46? I hear it's magic time!" For the second time that day, Jacy passed out.

The Shed Part 7
Meanwhile, back at the big house....party preparations were under way. The delicious aroma of shortbread was wafting through the kitchen as Jane and Tsu chattered and laughed. Gordi and TrueBrit were having a jam session, because no party is complete without music. Cody would be joining them later (on guitar), and claimed that Rodinus would be playing a 'gerbil bongo'. (No one is sure what that is...exactly...) Night Star was out 'exercising' the dragons...well, that's what she calls it. It's really just an excuse to slip away and ride a dragon....because, well...just because she can. Sophie the ferret was presently coiled up under the table, sleeping off a banana overdose and dreaming about rabbits finding their true prophet. Serdgiam and fossilera were busy moving the 'beast of bureau' into the shed, as Jane finally gave in and admitted that they needed more room in the kitchen. Grayeagle was soaring high, keeping a watchful eye out for invading ogres. Apparently, beyond the Rainbow Land of No Time, was a vast and rather bleak environment filled with various nasties, including ogres. There were quite a few people expected for the evening's festivities...including Homer (the ogre hunter, who is really bad-ass and carries a blaster)...and TDawg (who we have long suspected may indeed be himself an ogre, though claiming neither yay nor nay BUT he does carry a broad axe..?) All was peaceful for the moment, until TheDoctor46 came running through the kitchen door. "I thought you said she was ready? She's blacked out again...." Jane wiped the flour off her hands (on a rainbow apron, of course), and calmed the well-intentioned Doctor down. "I'll go, I'll go....carry on folks..." and off she went. As she approached the shed she heard a loud screech and a 'thump' sound...as if someone had just hit the floor. Turning the knob, she walked in to see Jacy laying on her back on the floor, arms and legs flailing...with a baby dragon sitting on her chest. "Ahh..." Jane smiled, "I see you've met Whimsy!"

The Shed Part 8
Jacy struggled to her feet, and the baby dragon flapped about, landing on her shoulder. The two looked at each other, nose to nose as Jane stood by watching and smiling. "She's been waiting for you. Do you remember her now?" "I do! She's my guardian, isn't she?" "Please don't speak about me as if I am not here?" Whimsy said, looking from Jacy to Jane rather disapprovingly. Jane reached over to stroke the little dragon's face, "Wee Whim, don't sulk...your girl here needs a magic lesson before our guests start arriving." "This is cool!" Jacy exclaimed..."Sophie will love you!" Whimsy was still being dramatic, "That squirrel? Hmph...I can't believe you actually thought she was I, initially. I am your guardian in EVERY lifetime you live...and I promise that I NEVER ever will present myself as a squirrel!" "She's a ferret!" Jacy interjected. Non-plussed, Whimsy carried on..."Seriously? Last time you were a baroness, and I was your falcon. Now you are a Canadian nobody with a gerbil. What happened?" Jacy frowned and looked down at her feet. "I dunno....karma?" Whimsy belched a little smoke ring at her human and coughed "peasant" sarcastically as she circled the room and flew out. "Magic?" Jane grinned. "Show me what you've got!" Jacy agreed. Suddenly Cody ran past the two girls, muttering 'badminton racquet' under his breath. He disappeared down a long corridor, and after some banging and clattering, emerged victorious. Grasping the racquet in one hand, he came back to proclaim, "Found it!" "Are you putting together a team?" Jacy inquired innocently. "No," he laughed..."it's for the jam session!" Then he held the racquet across his body and proceeded to play 'Stairway to Heaven'...perfectly, I might add. (Jimmy Page would've been proud.) "Hey now, just a minute!!" Jacy sputtered..."That's not even a real guitar!" "Wot's real?" Cody replied, disappearing out the door. "Magic?" Jacy asked. "Magic." Jane replied. "Is it really that easy?" "Yes, it's very simple. Focus and intent. Focus your mind on what you want to see/do/feel, etc...and make it your intent. Practise on something small, but you'll get the hang of it in no time." "Wow, okay....well....I always wanted to be able to sing?" Jacy said sadly. "Now that really would be magic, if I could sing well." "Focus and intent!" Jane reminded her. Jacy closed her eyes and focused really hard on singing with a strong and beautiful voice. She opened her mouth and began crooning, hoping to hear Adele's voice coming out...magically. Unfortunately, she coughed and croaked a bit, and gave up about 3 bars into what would have been 'Rolling in the Deep'. Whimsy flounced overhead, saying "Really ought to give up smoking Jacy girl!" "Back atcha beast!" she retorted, ducking to miss a well-aimed flame. "Keep practising Jacy, I have to go back to the kitchen. Mind you, you'll need to master this before the party begins. Everyone will be using their magic, and the cookie you pick up off a plate may be an oyster before you get it to your mouth. That's one of Rod's tricks. Oh, and feel free to redecorate! All you must do is focus on what you want. I will see you in a little bit." Jacy threw herself down into a chaise lounge, wanting desperately to be good at something. Over and over she practised her singing, "The scars of your love, they leave me breathless.....la la la...we could have had it allllllll!" Closing her eyes, she started thinking about the party...who would show up...and what would she wear? Whimsy fluttered back in and settled on the arm of the chaise. "How about a peasant dress?" she mocked. "How about a wing clip?" Jacy bantered back. Then she curled up with a smile on her face. "Banana dreams," whispered Whim.

The Shed Part 9
Whilst Jacy was napping on the chaise in the shed, party preparations were well under way. Delicious aromas were wafting through the open kitchen windows, as the girls lined up platters of home baked treats. Tsu placed Night Star's cake next to TDawg's chicken casserole, when suddenly she turned her head towards Jane. "I'm really sorry about stealing your Churnton...earlier...when we met...?" she trailed off embarassed. Jane rushed towards her, enveloping Tsu in a warm hug. "Don't be silly love," she smiled. "Everyone arrives here disoriented...and hungry! Once you've been summonsed to take 'the walk', you don't start to remember everything until you're safe with us. Then, once you're settled in...you begin to summons the next group of visitors." "Sounds like jury duty!" Tsu joked. "Well you do end up surrounded by your peers!" Jane quipped back. Crappiekat was standing back from the buffet table, to survey the results of her creation. She had been patiently arranging crystal glasses of varying size...until the entire table glistened in the shape of a crystal dragon. "Well," she said shyly, "What do you think?" Jane and Tsu came over and stood beside crappiekat. For a moment, no one spoke. "Wow....." "I know, right?" "So beautiful..." "You like it then?" crappiekat asked anxiously. "We LOVE it!" they replied in unison. "Good job woman," Jane said to crappiekat. "I'm glad you didn't use your magic, that's the easy way out. What you have created, is magic from your heart." Then she turned back towards the kitchen with an open-mouthed Tsu in tow. "I can't believe the detail!" Tsu was whispering, "Did you see where she placed the shot glasses? Brilliant...." Crappiekat, satisfied with her contribution to the buffet table...decided to take a stroll down the hallway. She could hear the low rumble of male voices and someone picking harmonics on an acoustic Ovation. Peeking her head around the door she said, "Mind if I watch?" The boys all got to their feet, bowed to the lady and waved their arms toward the vast seating area. "Pick a chair...any chair...welcome m'lady!" Cody winked at her. TrueBrit picked up his bass guitar and started pumping out a heavy-handed bass line. "C'mon lads, enough of that acoustic arsenal of arsiness...let's ROCK!!!!" he started swinging his hair around as the others laughed. "Arsiness? What's arsiness?" Gordi asked himself while strapping on his own guitar. He still didn't know how his favourite guitar from home had managed to appear in this 'no time' dimension. When he asked Jane she just smiled knowingly. He scooped up his pick and started strumming furiously to match the others. Night Star had also followed her cute little pointy ears, straight to the source of the tunes. Gliding in through the doorway, she waved at the guys and then seated herself next to crappiekat. She leaned towards crappikat and whispered, "What are you wearing tonight? Jane has created a fabulous rainbow gown...but I don't really feel like dressing up." Tsu had also been curious to watch the band, as she silently slid in next to Night Star. "What's up, buttercup?" she said, seeing the sad expression on Night Star's face. "Ohhh, it's nothing. I'm just being silly. For every party, I dress up hoping that THIS will be the night that the 'white wolf' appears to me. I can feel his presence with me....but I'm afraid to keep hoping." "You never give up hoping!" Tsu chastized her forlorn friend, "It takes some of us a long time, to get to this place. Those who are summonsed, always eventually find their way to our door. You must keep your focus positive. Now go and create a magnificent ensemble....tonight COULD be the night!" Then she winked, and disappeared back out the door, hoping that Jane hadn't noticed she was gone yet. Gordi set his guitar down on it's stand, and announced, "I believe it is time for a beverage!" As the band took a break, crappiekat waved at everyone and disappeared down the hall to create her own outfit. TrueBrit turned to Gordi, "Hey...have you got that bottle of The Singleton that you owe me? You didn't forget, did you?" "What bet did you lose now, Gordi?" Cody asked, grinning. "This one was about our mate Rodinus," Gordi replied. "TrueBrit said Rod would arrive here with half the animal kingdom. I said, no....he'd be alone. Now I owe old bunny-slippers a bottle of the finest Scotch malt whisky....and I must perform tonight in a neon punk wig...with my kilt...." his voice trailed off as he feigned shame. Cody set down his drink, "Wait a minute...Rod's not here yet..." "Yeah he is. Just got here. Apparently so did 16 pink gerbils, a smelly cat, 6 dogs...and a fire pit?" Cody threw back his head and laughed. "Not the gerbils!" TrueBrit grinned, "That's not even the worst of it! He knocked his bloody lights out on the back deck, and Jane found him unconscious by the door!" "And I thought I made the best entrance?" Cody shrugged.

The Shed Part 10
The men stood up and stretched and yawned. "Think I could use a kip before I get ready for tonight." Cody said. The sudden blast of Reveille made everyone jump. Fossilera was standing on the stage, trumpet dangling from his fingers. "You guys bailing on me?" he asked laughing. "Oh I forgot you played," Gordi shook foss's hand. "Good on you...you'll be joining us on stage tonight I take it?" "If you insist!" fossilera joked back. "And we do!!" the three other men said in unison. Fossilera shook his head. He muttered under his breath, "Humans...sure do have some strange customs..." and he wandered out to see what Homer was burning on the grill. He waved at Jane and Tsu as he passed through the kitchen. The girls were singing Celtic songs while they puttered around arranging food on brightly coloured platters. "I like it here!" he thought to himself. "This party seems to be something important." Standing on the deck, shielding his eyes from the brilliant sunshine...foss sniffed the air and followed his nose to the grilling area. Homer was standing in front of a huge barbecue, wearing what looked like a flak-vest apron, with culinery tools in each hand. He and TDawg were apparently arguing about grilling techniques. "Smells good!" fossilera grinned. Homer shook his hand. "What can I get you? We have my grill right here...and over there is where TDawg has burnt offerings that used to be good meat!" Retaliating to the banter, TDawg yelled back "Char-broiled to perfection my friend...precision cooking at it's finest!" Fossilera diplomatically replied, "Why don't you both fix me a plate of your best? I'm pretty hungry!" In the meantime, Jane had sought out Night Star to tend to an unconscious Rodinus. He had arrived with a strange assortment of animals and survival equipment. It was strange, the things that people took on their journey. Jacy brought a ferret...Cody came on his motorcycle. Tsu had nothing but an attitude and an appetite, and Gordi still hadn't remembered that he brought his prized guitar. "They can have anything they want here", she mused..."Yet all they seem to really want is to be together." "What did I bring?" Night Star asked Jane. "Well....you didn't bring Windstorm, he was already here. But you did bring the memory of the white wolf, and there is much more to that relationship than you can imagine." "I knew it!" Night Star exclaimed. "He is my twin-soul, isn't he?" Jane smiled at her, and whispered, "Tonight is our Valentine's party...wear something pretty!" Then she winked and turned back towards the kitchen. Night Star walked into the medieval guest room to find Rodinus sprawled out across an ornate four-poster bed. In a corner of the room, Sophie and the pink gerbils were engaged in a game of poker. The stinky cat was curled up next to Rod, and the dogs were in another room getting bathed and fed. Rodinus groaned and rubbed his forehead. "Where am I?" he called out. Night Star placed herself in a chair beside the bed, and offering a cold drink...began the lengthy explanation of dimensions. While the two sat in deep discussion, the cat stretched and jumped off the bed. Sauntering over to the ferret and gerbils, he squatted and released a stinky egg. Turning to give a sniff of approval, the cat and Sophie locked eyes. With a hiss and a quick about-face, the feline made for the doorway with ferret and gerbils in hot pursuit. Rodinus rolled his eyes, muttering "Stinky eggs....I cannot escape the stinky eggs.." to which Night Star snapped her fingers and the offensive egg disappeared. "Can you teach me that?" Rod inquired. Before Night Star could reply, a loud gong sound reverberated through the house. Jane's voice followed, with a request that all 'family' members meet in the dining hall. Everyone stopped what they were doing and made their way to the huge room. As they greeted each other, they pulled chairs up to the table and waited for Jane to arrive. She walking in smiling and took her seat. "Let's start with an old-fashioned roll call, shall we? I just want to make a note of who is here, and who has been summonsed." As she looked at each person, she wrote down their name and inquired if they had summonsed anyone to the event. When she was finished she read out the list of names, but any invitees were kept secret for now. "Tsu, Night Star, crappiekat, Jacy, TrueBrit, Gordi, Serdgiam, fossilera, grayeagle, Cody, Rodinus, Homer (& Zach), TheDoctor46 and TDawg. Am I missing anyone?" Everyone looked at each other and shook their heads. "Right...excellent! We are pretty much ready now. The food is endless and the decorations are up. As you all know, tonight's party is special indeed. This is our Valentine's celebration...and the magnificent love vibrations that we emit will be felt through the veil by other wounded warriors. Please have fun, enjoy yourself...but also be aware that guests and invitees may arrive a wee bit disoriented." Jane stood up and smiled. She held up her glass, "Rainbows!" "Rainbows!" the others said, clinking their glasses together.

The Shed Part 11
As everyone filed out of the dining room, Jane motioned to Jacy to stay behind. "I've summonsed woodsmom to the party," she said. "I'd like you to be on the look-out for her." "Oh sure, my pleasure!" Jacy responded. "Will she be arriving alone?" Jane grinned. "I guess you haven't met Tommy Boy yet?" "No...I don't think so...what does he look like?" With a completely blank expression, Jane said "He's a moose." Jacy nodded, "A lodge member..." "No!" Jane started laughing. "He's a real moose...from Alaska. He arrived earlier and the boys fed him then sent him to cheer up Night Star! He is woodsmom's guardian...like Whimsy is yours." "OHhhhh...." Jacy laughed. "A moose. Should fit right in around here." Then the girls parted ways....Jane retreated to her personal chambers, while Jacy went outside to meet Tommy Boy. TDawg and Homer had placed a party sign on the fence at the far edge of the property. Those two, along with fossilera...often gave the impression that were 'not entirely human'. The cooking of meat was almost an obsession, and simple tasks were undertaken rather poorly. Jane's only comment on the matter was, "Aww, bless 'em for trying." Apparently, there were many magical secrets in Rainbow Land. Tsu, Jane, and Night Star were preparing themselves for a night of festivity. Rainbow coloured chiffon dresses were donned, fragrant oils were being dabbed on pulse points, and soft feminine humming drifted through open windows. There was magic in the air as surely as if sparkles were raining upon the land. Pixies and faeries danced around maypoles in the garden, while fireflies and hummingbirds fluttered above. TrueBrit, Gordi, Cody, Rodinus and Serdgiam were also preparing for the night's celebration. Each in their own room, each performing their own personal 'ritual'. True took a swig of rum, and swatted at the pixies who were trying to braid his hair. Sitting in his white shirt, black jacket and red tie, he rubbed his aching shoulder and wondered what had induced him to head-bang at the jam session. Gordi was standing in front of his mirror, adjusting the wig and kilt he was forced to perform in, due to losing a bet with TrueBrit. "Could be worse?" he shrugged at himself. "Could be bunny slippers!" then he laughed, and danced a jig for his own amusement. Cody was also watching his own reflection in the mirror. As he stood in black tux and tails...Jane was mischeiviously using her magic from her room down the hall. Cody would suddenly be wearing a rainbow-top hat...then a moment later a rainbow cummerbund. "Woman! Make up your mind!' Cody yelled...hearing her laughter as she zapped him with a matching rainbow bowtie. Rodinus wasn't giving much thought to what to wear. He was happily exerting his new-found magic abilities, by changing the colours of the gerbils and stinky cat. Sophie was perched nearby, laughing and sneaking sips of Rod's tea. Serdgiam was quietly eating a couple of burnt sausage rolls. As he looked at the last one, he thought "I should take this Tommy Boy." Suffering with 'severe authority problems'...Serdg still wasn't comfortable with the apparent lack of authority in Rainbow Land. Everyone was kind, and very loving towards him. No nasty comments...no reason for him to bite his tongue. "Oh, bubbles." He sighed. Then he strode out of his room, carrying the last sausage roll....towards the field where the resident moose was now residing.

The Shed Part 12
Everyone was happily preparing for the night's activities, when suddenly there was a loud gong sound, and Jane's voice could be heard throughout the rooms. "Family...we will be assembling in the ballroom in fifteen minutes. Tonight is our magical Valentine's Party and there will be many guests arriving soon. Please give everyone the warmest reception, and remember...that when we LOVE altogether...the vibration transcends all dimensional barriers tonight...until midnight. I would like to thank Whimsy, WindStorm, Grayeagle and the other dragons and faeries...for flying high and remaining on 'alert' for our family. It's been many years since we battled the ogres, but we must always be on watch. Rainbows everyone....I will see you in fifteen." Jacy closed the shed door and tip-toed across the grass, cursing at her heels. Whimsy swooped down and landed on a nearby tree branch. "You clean up nicely peasant!" the dragon quipped. "Shouldn't you be doing a swan-dive somewhere?" Jacy cracked back. "Just be careful out there!" she implored, giving Whim a sombre look. "Hey....Jacy? I summonsed somebody." "What? You're not supposed to summonse...who is it, somebody's guardian?" "No. It's another dragon. We can use another sky-rider tonight...and I trust Syx." "Okay Whim...you've never been wrong." Jacy kissed the dragon's neck, then with a turn of her skirts, darted towards the big house. Throwing open the back door, she was met Tsu, Night Star, Jane and....woodsmom! Jacy embraced the newcomer warmly and then backed away to peruse their attire. "Wow....beautiful!" she exhaled. The ladies all chatted as their shoes clicked down the hallway towards the ballroom. There were candles everywhere, and rainbow coloured lights gave the huge room an almost kaleidoscope effect. The stage was covered with various instruments and equipment, and a massive crystal chandelier hung over the dance floor. Cody and Rodinus were sporting matching tuxedos and appearing somewhat 'Blues Brothers' in appearance. In stark contrast, Homer was wearing camo and khaki...partially covered by his flak-vest grilling apron. Gordi, being a good sport had gone all out with wig, leopardskin top and kilt. TrueBrit was beside him, resplendent in black jacket, white shirt, red tie....and bunny slippers. Serdgiam and TDawg had decided to dress comfortably as they would likely be spending their time bantering and cooking with Homer outside. Fossilera was nowhere to be seen, however there was a fellow in a costume mask leaning towards crappiekat in conversation...quite possibly TheDoctor46. Jane walked into the centre of the dance floor, a beautiful vision in rainbow-coloured chiffon. The chattering died down and everyone's attenion focused on their hostess. "The guests will begin arriving anytime now, and so will our fellow lost souls. Remember that many of the people attending tonight are those with the power to cross into our dimension...and then return home again. The 'travellers'...the ones who are 'taking the walk'...will require comfort and lodgings. If you have summonsed someone please attend to their needs....and above all else....have fun and stay in the love vibration. As the musicians climbed the stairs to the stage, a strange sound could be heard from behind one of the amplifiers. TrueBrit poked his head around to see fossilera cursing at a trumpet. "What are you doing there mate?" True asked him. "Argh! Emptying my spit valves..." fossilera explained, shaking the instrument. True backed away from the flying spittle and gave fossilera a grin, "Well...glad you're joining us!" Then with a wink and a nod, the guitarists broke into Gordi's Rainbow Warrior theme song. The doorbell chimed loudly, and Jane gracefully made her way to greet the evening's first arrivals. Tsu looked at Jacy with a huge grin and squealed, "Ooh, I wonder who's here?" The two girls turned to Night Star, whose face was suddenly a very ashen shade of pale. With a look of panic, her head shot around to face the doorway. "Did you hear that?" she whispered. "The doorbell?" Tsu asked. A long mournful howl echoed through the hallways, and Night Star shook her head. "No. THAT!" Then she quietly lost consciousness and collapsed.

The Shed - The Party!
Night Star's eyes flickered open, and she gasped at what she saw. There he was...the white wolf in all his splendor, complete with sparkling red collar, to match his twin soul's gown. As Jane helped her to her feet, Night Star laughed and wrapped her arms around the magnificent creature's neck. "I'm so glad you came!" she whispered into his fur.
The band had just finished their first set, and a disc jockey played music while the musicians took refreshments. The ballroom had slowly been filling up with guests, many in mask and costume in keeping with the Valentine's theme. Night Star and the white wolf had gone to walk in the moonlight and to watch the dragons perform their delicate flying manoevres.
Jacy had also wandered outside to check on the children. Zack and Dougie were taking turns putting each other in a cage, playing "ogres and warriors" and feasting on sweets. Woodsmom's troupe were busily feeding rainbow coloured sugar cubes to Tommy Boy, as various faeries took turns watching over the little ones. With a smile and a wave of her hand, Jacy continued on to see if she could spot Whimsy. As she walked towards the clearing where the crystal stream sparkled, she heard a soft rustling and what sounded like the beating of wings. "Who goes there?" she called into the darkness. Sophie and the pink gerbils had been chasing pixies in the garden when she heard her mother's voice. Scampering off, she ran towards Jacy...just as a strange man limped out of the shadows. "Hello, my name is Jacy and this is Sophie." she said smiling. The man appeared to be thinking very hard, as he spoke not a word but continued to fumble himself into an old leather jacket. With apparent frustration, he opened his mouth and spewed out a story about being a dragon turned man turned shapeshifter...? "You must be Syx..." Jacy laughed. "Come with me, there are others waiting to meet you." "The journey gets better and better!" Syx replied. "Oh! You have NO idea!" Jacy winked.
As the party guests were dancing in the ballroom, a few people had gathered outside. TDawg was busy flipping meat on his grill occasionally turning to look for Homer. Fossilera picked at a broiled delicacy while TDawg muttered under his breath. "Relax Dawg," Fossilera grinned. "He's inside taking videos of the dancers. You don't dance?" he inquired. "I cook!" replied TDawg..."I don't dance, and I DON'T hug!" Suddenly a group of pixies joined hands and started dancing around singing, "Hug the dawg...hug the dawg!" "Good luck with that!" Fossilera called over his shoulder as he made his was back towards the house. As he reached the kitchen he saw Homer and Tsu watching a video of Cody and TrueBrit dancing. "Show mine, show mine!" Tsu squealed laughing. Gordi stuck his head in the doorway, still wearing the wig, leopard-skin and kilt...and called out to the folks in the kitchen. "Cody and Jane are about to do their big fancy routine!" he yelled before turning to run back down the hall. As the lighting faded to almost black, the dancers retreated from the floor. Serdgiam's voice echoed through the darkness, announcing the official Rainbow Land dance. Everyone was silent as Cody and Jane walked to the center of the huge floor. The sound and light both came on simultaneously, and with an audible "gasp" everyone rose to see the splendor. Then Cody leaned down to bow and kiss Jane's hand...and with a cheer from the audience...the dance began. As they twirled around the enormous gothic room, Jane's beautiful gown sparkling in the candlelight...the other guests quietly took to the floor. Moving together in unison, they swirled in a graceful circle around Cody and Jane...performing the official dance of love and peace for all. With pulses rising and energies bonding, the dancers filled the room with an energy so bright...that even the faeries stopped in awe to watch. Then, as humbly as they had begun, with a curtsy and a bow...the dancers parted ways. With heart pounding Jane strode towards the long buffet table to claim a cold drink. TrueBrit covered her small hand in his, and whispered quietly, "It takes a lot out of you sometimes, doesn't it?" She leaned in to hug him then whispered back, "It takes a strong heart to be a warrior....but we have created something beautiful here." And then in a soft rustle of taffeta and chiffon, she floated away from him and back towards the ballroom.
Crappiekat walked into the kitchen, humming to herself. She stopped abruptly as something crashed to the floor. Fossilera was crouched down, picking up assorted pieces of cutlery. "Damn cat," he was muttering under his breath, "Evil brat, should of called you Loki!" Crappiekat picked the smug-looking feline off the counter and shooed it back outside. "Don't you have a big trumpet solo coming up?" she asked. Fossilera stopped. "My trumpet! Where's my trumpet?!" Then he took off running out the back door. Homer and TDawg watched foss dart across the grass, then shrugged and turned back to their grills. "What are ya burning over there now?" Homer bantered. "A hot dog for Jacy...special request." Dawg glared at him. "Oh yeah? Well I have some super smashed potatoes and gravy here for Jane...special request!" Homer mimicked. "Hug the dawg!" "Hug the dawg!" TDawg grabbed a long spikey fork and took off in pursuit of the chanting pixies. They dispersed in a puff of sparkly dust and a moment later TDawg was face to face with a ragged and muddy stranger. Dressed in grey and black, with tall brown leather boots...the man seemed to have a majestic air about him, yet his attire had seen better times. "Welcome! Are ya hungry? Or thirsty? Plenty of grub on the grill and wine and beer in the stream. Even if you don't drink booze, the stream itself is pretty tasty." TDawg grinned. "Um..." The man laughed. "Yea, that is usually the first response most of us have made coming upon this place, but it's not that bad. It kinda grows on you." Before the stranger could say anything further, TDawg spotted Night Star circling overhead on WindStorm. He motioned for her to land, then quietly slipped away, back to the safety of his grill. With a graceful landing, Night Star smiled and said, "What do we have here?"

Hi guys

I see RR has joined us that's brilliant, I know her from the avatar thread, and we've become very good friends, she'll get on well here.

Welcome to the thread RR (((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))) *Tosses RR a beer*

I'm loving the idea of an international get together, that would be mega awesome.

Had a really frustrating day I work with idiots sometimes, apparently 30 years experience counts for against a 22 year old that knows auto cad, regardless of how I often I point out that we can bend the laws of physics but miracles are a tad beyond us.

I tried to explain that although Jesus was a carpenter, his miracle working abilities don't necessarily come with the job.

How are you all ?

Jaky LOL, I'm really starting to think we were separated at birth! My exercise routine is brisk walking (to the percolator), weight lifting (picking up the percolator) and cardiovascular repetitions (mug to mouth, mug on table, fag to mouth, fag on ashtray).

I think you would be fine with flying. I used to think I couldn't do it but booked a trip spur of the moment and loved every second. I didn't give my self a chance to worry or think about plummeting and I was completely fine. Admittedly the first time I landed I was nearly climbing up my chair to get further from the ground, but I barely even noticed the bump. It was no worse than going over a speed bump at ten miles an hour. I was actually looking forward to the flight back!

Gordi, I'm pretty sure I will be fine. Climbing the mountain instead of going up the road sounds do-able. I'm not quite as bad as Steven Fry, (Did you see the show he did with Bear Gryls? It was so funny!)

I will check those links out in a bit. Note to self, p277

It's only an idea of course but what would you guys think about maybe a volunteer trip? Maybe go to some corner of the world and help out a bit and spread some Rainbows? With the mix of skills we have here I'm sure we would be welcomed with open arms. Maybe teaching English, self defense, carpentry, building, crafts, woodwork, IT, ect, ect, ect...

Just a thought of course.

Gordi, I'm really sorry, I meant to say in my post to you yesterday that I either drink Capt. Morgan or lambs navy but not spiced. I'm more than happy to get my own though, you need not worry, but thank you for offering.

I'm sorry that my replies are late/back to front/all over the place. I have a brain like a mac. I have so many apps open that my OS keeps crashing.

Dawg, I'm glad you are feeling better after your epic nap! The log cabin idea sounds great. Maybe the guys could go fishing/hunting and the women could collect berries for the pudding? Make a real survival holiday?

(apologies to all women that would rather be spearing, skinning and cooking the main course.
)

Fossi, any holiday with strict rules such as 'Riders must remain on seated at all times' is good with me. Upside down, sheer drops, thrown from side to side? All good, provided the seats are comfy.

Jane, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have a blizzard for our gathering in Scotland. Then we'll see who gets up that mountain fastest mwahahah.

Night, maybe we could gate-crash Rhode Island. Hehe, like a plaque of locusts but more pleasant.

Gimme, remind me I have to add a post to your new thread. I've been meaning to show you some links/pics.

True, hope you enjoyed your driving. All's good here, I think we are having the same weather, sunny and fresh. I fully intend to spend an hour in the garden when it's more shaded.

(Ladies, the frogs are coming on nicely and should be ready to be shipped to you soon.
)

Rainbow Residue! Welcome!

So you like shopping, reading, art and more shopping? You pass with flying colours!

Hehe, see what I did there?

I'll get my coat...

Idiots can be frustrating, but sometimes also very amusing.
I've mastered the -counting to 10 before responding to them- to a master level.
Thanks for the beer.
