He died because his followers would not support him...
John 18
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
I find it weird that Jesus would say that his servants didn't fight against his capture when Peter clearly tried to within the very same chapter.
John 18
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”
Jesus rebukes Peter for fighting for him then goes on to say that no one fought for him. Maybe I'm missing something here?

Well, for anyone still reading this thread, I say that no one is asking the right questions about this god Jehovah and the whole premise behind his salvation...
First of all, why on earth would you want to worship such an entity? Just because he tells you too? Why does this god wait 4000 or so years to send his son Jesus to the earth? He sure wasn't in a hurry to save lost humanity...

That's rude of Jesus to assume that EVERYONE in the future will sin on a day to day basis. What a shallow guy.
Plus, if the people 2,000 years ago did NOT sin, then Jesus would have had a happy life, no?

Jesus got Crucified because he was committing blasphemy according to The Old Testament. The Old Testament does not say that The Messiah should be worshiped nor does it say that he will come, die, be brought back to life and return to Earth at a future time. The Old testament predicted that there will be a one world government with Israel leading it and all the nations will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance and there will be world peace under their command.
The Pharisees were mad that Jesus called "The Messiah - The Christ" and yet he did not do this.
