It is you, and the rock looks like a bone. A doctor or surgeon or archeologist will come by soon with the formal declaration of "what?". Nice find, either a boney thing or a nice lookey-like.

The "bone" as you call it is simply a remnant of a film by the popular and late cinematic director, Stanley Kubrick. No monkeys were harmed during the filming of the scene...apparently

Good find, ArMaP ... there is indeed a certain resemblance, and it would nicely tie in with some of the earlier finds we came across. Of course, there's always the notion of a potential 'natural cause' for such chunks to look the way they do *hmmmm* but the amount of strangely familiar shapes keeps surprising me.

If we stumbled upon more of those, in one place (and associated with eathother), now that'd be one big day on ATS and in the news media, I guess! In the meantime, I'll continue scanning the archives for that unambiguous logarithmic spiral feature(!), that must be hidden somewhere in those vast martian outcrops at Lake Gale!

Nice Find Armap

As I said several times: Curiosity, litterally, walk on a carpet of bones.

Here's a thread on the recent pic of a possible bone, the one that ArMap found but is as quiet as a churchmouse about (it may be the femur of a churchmouse):

given the amazing range of sedimentary rocks there are , and taking into account the sparse results from the rocks drilled and the spectral analysis obtained from this mission so far , which of the categories of sedimentary rocks do you think we have encountered ?

I decided to look at rocks again today...after a while.

I'm still on old Sol's...here's an interesting one from Sol 141

Sorry if this has been mentioned before. If you look on the rock that is just to the left of center in the image there's an odd shape protruding from the bottom right side. Unusual with those two clove-like points.

PS:
Sorry, I can't seem to embed external pics for some reason. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Aye. Mars sure has some weird looking stuff on its surface regardless of what they are. Makes you wonder what could be beneath the surface. Caves? Abandoned mines/cities?

maybe even a few soldiers of the blue-it variety , hanging out in the trenches , biding their time till attack

almost defiantly some type of geological action process is happening underneath the surface from what ive seen so far above, maybe something to do with the massive temperature changes that occur daily/nightly

I've heard (or just made up) rumors that things are looking so sideways creepy on Mars now that the Rover crew is down to their last intern. And even he is putting on his coat inside-out and edging towards the door.
