I guess God was wrong then ? ..... again ... ?

It's only been Oct 3rd in California for 3 hours. They have 21 more hours to go to get past this 'prophecy'. And as far as God being wrong .... I don't think 'GOD" made this prophecy. We'll find out at the end of the day.

Now I'm going to sound like a right old moaner but this forum title 'predictions' I find a waste of time. Has there ever been a real prediction on ats ? Regarding this thread, I understand it's not the OPs own doing so this isn't a dig at them but honestly ... God told someone there was going to be a huge earthquake? Why would god (if they actually existed) just tell ONE nut case there is going to be a huge quake .. If god created man I'd like to think god would try and contact more than one person

I've been posting here for 9 1/2 years. In all that time I think I've only seen two actually come true.
(they had to do with earthquakes and a 'cycle' of quakes around the world)
And that doesn't mean the 'prophecy' was supernatural .. it could also mean that the person just
gave a good guess that happened to hit.

Well .. if you believe the bible (and I don't know if you do), God has a history of using specially chosen people as prophets to do His work. David. Elijah. Daniel. Isaiah. And in more modern history ... St. Padre Pio, Mother Teresa, etc. And they all had miracles to back up their claims. There do seem to be certain people specially picked out to be a conduit. (if you believe the stories)

But I hear ya'. It would be so much more understandable for Him to talk to EVERYONE ...

Anyone want to bet me it doesn't happen?? If I'm wrong I'll eat cow droppings mixed with camel urine blended. Not going to happen..

Are we still going to count it if it's below 9.7 or we willing to take a 5.0? I won't take anything less then a 9.0.

I believe in the bible and prophets as well but the problem is when other people claim to have also spoken with God and yet have a completely different story to tell. Doesn't that cause some concern for accuracy?? I was abducted by what I was told was the Angel Raphael, Metatron, and Uriel. It was three UFO lookin crafts but they looked more like stars in the sky. They did not show me an earthquake on the west coast but I did see a major earthquake and a large explosion + tsunami on the east coast. Surprisingly enough my memory of the event takes place someplace near Washington DC. The timing is very soon. Less than 6 months. There will also be a major rioting, a racial war, and martial law. Then China and Russia will invade as the government breaks down but America under Hillary Clinton's directive will end up nuking Russia and Israel will become the new capital of the world. I didn't see any west coast carnage sorry.

It's gotta be a 9.7 That was the prophecy. A 5.0 or 6.0 or even 7.0 is pretty common.
This earthquake has to be a massively destructive 9.7.
If we have to ask 'does this one count' ... then it isn't big enough to count.
I think it'll be self evident.

And I'm still saying .. it won't happen.

You should start a thread on this in 'members prophecy'.
It's a different forum than this one.
It would be interesting to hear your whole story.

The people making the prophecy said 'God' told them the prophecy.
I"m saying that I don't think God had anything to do with it.
And I don't think it'll happen.

I honestly believe we are getting really close to another big one. Even if this prediction does come true it still could be just a coincidence.

I understand this...alot of people also say they have personal relationships with God...if this involves God speaking to them, we'd have to remove them the benefit of the doubt really, wouldn't we? (I'm being humourously cynical)...If the strike & success rate of bona fide 'prophecies' were to be racked up and judged on Do You Think You Can Prophecy...the talent would be very D grade...

Frankly even if San Francisco was at or very near the epicenter for a magnitude 9.0 it would be almost beyond belief, because as far as the seismological studies show, there is no fault in or close to SF that's capable of a quake that big. The nearest is the Cascadia Subduction Zone (CSZ), but that ends about 200 miles NW of SF up the coast.

It's still theoretically possible for SF to experience a very large tsunami, but it would take an extraordinary combination of seismic events.*** (See note below.) I wrote about this yesterday in another post here and laid out the scenario, but as I said there in my summary, I do not think such a thing is going to happen either today or any time soon.

The fact is, a magnitude 9.7 (mw) quake would release almost twice the energy of the most powerful quake ever recorded on seismograph equipment -- the mag 9.5 in Chile in 1960. A mag 9.7 event along a submarine near-coastal subduction zone would be unimaginably destructive. While there's general agreement among experts that the 1960 mag 9.5 will be surpassed one day, San Francisco just doesn't make the rather short list of places where such an event could occur, as it doesn't have a fault capable of releasing that much energy.

The CSZ might be capable of producing somewhere near a larger mag 9, but even so I've not read any studies that suggest it could produce a 9.7 as it's probably not long enough.

*** Note: I'm talking specifically about seismic events only, not explosive eruptions by submarine volcanoes or impacts by large space rocks (asteroids, etc) -- both of which can produce very large tsunamis and also seismic events -- as the predictions refer to a quake alone as the tsunami source and give no suggestion that the quake is the result of either a volcanic or impact event.

It's only 9 am in California. There are still 15 hours to go until midnight there (3AM Eastern) to be able to say that this day has passed and nothing has happened. But rest assured ... tomorrow we'll be on here saying 'told ya' so' .....

Failure watch continues ....

Still here down in Southern California for the moment. I'll check in hourly, though.

Just wondering, which God? I only believe it when Apollo talks. Now, there was a GOD. Zeus and Neptune had a lot going on, too, but only Apollo seemed to connect with me on a real physical level, y'know?
