Lots of plausible options as you outlined well.

It DOES FEEL LIKE, APPEAR LIKE . . . that coming weeks and months will see a SIGNIFICANT escalation in END TIMES EVENTS of all types . . . including quakes and volcanoes. To what degree and frequency remains to be seen.

Just the traitorousness in D.C. has escalated quite more than any nightmare would care to entertain.

That would be true if the relevant verse could be proved to have been written BEFORE the alleged event. That's kinda a prerequisite. It's pretty easy to write a story hundreds of years later and have all sorts of details.

Daniel 9 etc. comes to mind.

There IS a LOT of noise on the channel. One has to filter well.

This deserves to be watched carefully...... Watch out for preliminary major events around 2 to 3 days before Thursday, October 3 2013.....which would be sometime around September 30 2013-October 1 2013..... If there is a preliminary major event a few days before the 3rd of October, then that should be more than enough warning for a possible earthquake of this size on the 3rd.....

The December 2004 Andaman Islands Earthquake was a 9.3 magnitude quake, while back in 1960s, there was a 9.5 quake at Chile.....Therefore, a 9.7 earthquake would be 2.2 times stronger than the 9.5 at Chile which happened in 1960......

If a 9.3 hit California, I'm sure a LOT of the West would feel it. And considering the Tsunami effects that could happen .. depending on which direction a Tsunami went, it could finish off Fukishima in Japan ... and nail Hawaii ... etc etc

And I'd say that yes, a 9.3 is entirely possible. Any size is possible. The list of largest world earthquakes since 1900 show that there was a 9.5 in Chile and a 9.2 in Alaska. And that's just in the past 100 years or so. So yes it can, AND DOES, happen.

The strongest earthquake recorded so far on the moment magnitude scale was the 9.5 Magnitude earthquake at Valdivia, Chile, which happened on 22 May 1960.... Info below:

Me: So a 9.7 earthquake could cause tsunami even higher than the 9.5, possible above 30 metres!

I think everyone is forgetting depth of the quake matters more than anything. If it a very deep quake it might not be that bad. I was in the 6.8 in Tacoma Washington in 2001. It was a very deep quake and very little damage was really done. If that had been closer to the surface it would have been devastating.

Hey, just figured I'd add a little something. There is a little blog I follow from a man named Eric Leigh-Pink who makes predictions often. He also has mentioned a tsunami on the west coast, a bad hurricane that's supposed to hit sometime in Oct here in FL and I believe volcanic eruptions.

Not saying I believe all this will happen but it's interesting to follow at least! I'm definitely praying none of those things happen.

the san andreas' largest earth quakes are in the very low 8's. an earth quake close to that size would occur on the cascadia subduction fault. it is the same type of fault that caused indonesia's giant quake in 2004. the last time this fault let loos was in 1701, so it is due.

then there is the new madrid fault in the middle of the united states. this is the most potentially dangerous fault in our country due to the fact that most of the buildings in the heart land were built with no thought of earth quakes in mind. this fault let loose in dec. of 1810, jan. 1811 and feb. 1811 with three quakes estimated at 8.1 or so.

interesting side note on the new madrid. the first steam ship to navigate the mississippi river, s.s. new orleans, was on the river on its maiden cruise, being attacked by indians in a canoe when the first quake hit.

There's a lot of 'noise' about the Canary Islands tsunami potential. There's loud, strident pontifications on both sides of the issue.

It's a bit hard for a layman to know where the truth lies . . . as though the geologists and seismologists DO! LOL.

It appears to me, from your posted info from Wiki . . . that the 'alarmists' re the Canary islands potential are likely to be MORE correct than the naysayers.

I say that for a couple or so reasons . . .

1. I believe that generally . . . the MOST ALARMIST folks in this era . . . when the dust settles . . . will turn out to have been frightfully conservative and minimalist. I say that because The Book declares that this era will be worse than the world has EVER known and worse than ever will be again in the history future of the planet. I believe that is EMPHATICALLY true.

2. Humans are soooooooo . . . well, particularly bishops and priests of the religion of scientism . . . are sooooo ARROGANT as to think that they have it 'ALL FIGURED OUT' or MOSTLY ALL FIGURED OUT. They have been proven wrong time and time again. It appears that God almost DELIGHTS in proving them ignorant & wrong.

3. The Sumatra quake . . . IIRC, the undersea pics taken afterwards discovered a SUDDENLY NEW UNDERSEA CLIFF that was created virtually instantly, 100-300 or so feet tall!!!, IIRC. The scientists were shocked. They declared that they'd believed such an even to be TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE. Right. Unh hunh! Heard THAT before! I believe that's just a hint of the SHOCKS coming for the experts and the rest of us.

That's one reason I believe that the prognostications about the impossibility of a 10.X+ quake to be so much farting out both ends of the experts.

If I understand their blather correctly, they are saying that the whole of the San Andreas fault would have to rupture horribly for that magnitude to be reached. Trouble is, That's ASSUMING that THEY KNOW what they are talking about. I don't think they do. Their GUESStimates are maybe slightly more informed and "expert" than those of the rest of us. That's about all.

What if there are several other dynamics unknown to them which could result in that? Even if there's only one or two additional dynamics . . . and synergistic effects of different dynamics contributing additively together toward a greater magnitude??? They aren't even thinking in such directions, evidently, because they've disallowed other possibilities by definition. Some "scientific" folks used to disallow a spherical earth, by definition, too.

So, if this doesn't happen the either "God" is a fraudster or "God" is a Scamster or "God" is simply ignorant, stupid and not quite as good as his many millions of followers say.

Camping was off the wall and I told him essentially that to his face more than 40 years ago.

HOWEVER, Some prophetic sources have been accurate.

Pastor David Wilkerson was quite accurate over a few decades. Some of his predictions are still to be fulfilled. Some were already.

I think the Christian prophetic field is a mess. However, I'm convinced God will be cleaning it up and that there will be some prophetic sources in coming months, years who will speak very specifically in terms of literal events and degrees of trauma and specific dates and even hours--all fulfilled to the letter. Then there's the Biblical TWO WITNESSES who will certainly be 100% accurate.

In addition, occultic prophetic sources will be shown to be grossly flawed, at best.

Those who wish to be chronic naysayers will eventually have to shut up or be laughed to scorn as they now laugh others to scorn.

I don't know when that state of affairs will arrive but I have 0.00000% doubt it will.

Evidently you haven't read a number of documented prophetic assertions and their fulfillments. I'll list some below. There are some others from modern sources I'll try and post in a later post.

I love the HEAVEN IS FOR REAL case because the 4 year old little boy COULD NOT HAVE KNOWN some of the things God showed him in Heaven.

I realize that many folks have staked their rebellions, idolatries, willfulness etc. on THERE BEING NO POSSIBILITY in their construction on reality . . . to God . . . to prophecy . . . to God being concerned about their details of life etc.

That's a sad state.

I do not know if the 3 Christians with dreams predicting the same thing on the same date will prove true, or not.

I do know that I've never read such a case in my 45 years of studying prophecy, particularly Christian, Biblical prophecy.

1. They could be 100% right.

2. They could be mistaken in their hearing.

3. They could be victims of some government black-ops technology insertions into their minds. We DO DEFINITELY have the capacity to do that currently and have had for a long time.

4. They could be deluded by occult demonic forces.

5. They could have set themselves up by dwelling on such topics overmuch the day before.

To me, the OCKHAM'S RAZOR indicator would rest on #1.
