What was it the Pharisees said, as they were working out the details and processing
Christ to the cross ? i'm not quite sure of this and I can't seem to track it down.
Something like, if he is who the people believe he is, and not just a man,
Then he will still be who they believe he is after he's dead. For someone to
just be another man or even not exist. And to have died in the same obscurity
as the thousands of others who suffered the cross. He sure has come along way.
In two thousand years it'll be easy to say you didn't exist either. But I'll stand up for you

maybe souls are a commodity and we are all being farmed. The problem I have with humans is arrogance, for a bunch of primates stuck on a rock floating in space we seem pretty sure of ourselves, i mean we have barely made it off the planet, barely, yet we claim to know the the existence of all life in the universe, how it was created and who or what created it, Humans are collectively like that relative everybody has at Christmas that gets absolutely pissed and wont shut up, kind of like Biden or Clinton maybe even Boris Yeltsin.
Honestly Earth is probably a reality show on some alien T.V. channel, where we get laughed at for our "pagan" beliefs, archaic rituals, brutish and barbaric behavior.

Even though I don't believe in gods and devils I tend to wonder why humanity is so hate filled and cruel to the innocent or anybody for that matter and it only seems to be getting worse as the world continues to populate.

Its not hard to understand why you think the way you do.....instead of wondering why, what and who we are as we used to it has gone to what you purpose or the one I like is are we a prison planet.

Some of us who choose to retain our humanity see the species in digression and wonder why do we seem to be sliding backwards...........just my opinion.

Just watched the Matrix movies quite recently again. And I must say this movie is like a doctrine to understanding this constant of a world we live in. All the underlying philosophy throughout the movies really touches the whole scale of our perceived existence if you analyze each character the conversations between them.

I actually thought of making a thread on this with screenshots and conversations from the movie explaining all the connections to the different philosophies and concepts but decided to save it for a later time, when I have a more consecutive time on my hands (since it would be quite extensive).

*Small spoiler alert* / if you have not seen the movies.

To me (very, very roughly) the movie shows us how we go from realizing that there is something more to our existence than what we see, to where that fact does not actually matter and since we are all just on a ride of "cause and effect", to ultimately showing us how final victory can only be achieved through the ultimate surrender of pride to your greatest enemy, your negated self (Smith: divided, endless hunger for freedom and the destruction of all that is not him, believing only his own truth/lie).

Good and Evil are ultimately seeking the same thing; ultimate Power. One wants the power to help all others and the other wants power to make his own ends meet. Like Yin and Yang, chasing each others tails not realizing that the illusion wont stop until they stop spinning and surrender to each other, revealing truth/death.

No matter how much we want it. No one will ever find the absolute truth until his own death. Until that moment comes, we are all just speculating.

And if you feel, or think you know, some truth of your existence outside yourself, you could not be more wrong.

There is a testament to my existence: birth certificate, credit history, Facebook, YouTube, Gmail accounts, all of my musings here on ATS, photographs, works that I have created, a family line descending from me, videos of me and recorded by me, my voice exists on several other recordings, I have fingerprints on file, I have medical records which support my existence, and much, much more.

The only "evidence" we have for the existence of Jesus Christ is a book of fairy tales and myths written 100 years or more after his death, featuring second-, third-, fourth-, or fifth-hand accounts by people who were not eyewitnesses nor present at the time of the events being recorded.

There was a fellow here on ATS who started a thread around 08", where he remembered pre-existed (I also remember pre-existing, although my memory is more benelovent than his), anyway, he didn't want to come here and be born, but other Souls pushed him into the womb against his will. So that really makes you wonder, what the hell is really going on, on the other side.

Arrogance is human nature. Its cause by Ego, which is the cause f all the worlds ills, rapes, murders, wars, etc. This "Rouge Ego" has been discussed as the cause of all Evil since the Advent of the Bon Religion, which predates Buddhism.

I think the only way "out" is like alot of these esoteic religions say, Spiritual Enlightenment and complete detachment from everything

I wonder how many truly accept that way of thinking.

Comparing any of your OP to the Biblical truth is lunacy. Nothing in it is Biblical.

The Bible makes clear distinctions between our world and heaven. God resides outside of time anyway.

To say that "we are the bringers of our own salvation" is EXACTLY what Satan is going to say in the end times. None get to heaven but through the power of Jesus. None. Saying anything other than that instantly makes your post as none biblical as the next.

Space isn't even empty. The space that we observe is jam packed with all sorts of unknown forces and particles. The physical world itself is considerably more 'empty' than any 'solid' object is on an atomic level.

This whole idea smacks of new age theology. AKA doctrines of demons. The Bible, also, makes a VERY distinct point of explaining humans and angels; we're not the same at all. Can you change form? Turn into a none physical being? Traverse time? Can you smite people with blindness? Destroy a city and turn a woman into salt? Then you're not an angel. Even fallen angels keep their power - that's also in the Bible (see Lucifer).... Maybe some 'new agers' should READ IT.

You assume I am young and in health...do not do that because neither are true. I am saying happiness is within and I find a little pieces of heaven right here. If I am in Hell why am I being punished? I do not have hubris but a little bit of pride is not worthy of eternal damnation. But some days are good and I have my needs met yes my body is falling apart but nothing lasts forever so perhaps neither will this so called banishment...

Now like I said on Monday I may change my tone LOL

I don t know if you know of the gnostic sect or have read any of their teachings but what you are saying is pretty much what they were believing a few thousand years ago. Fall of man, Earth is in fact a manifisation of the Kingdom of the devil and we are all within this realm. They also believed that a god was the creator of this world and its dimensions. I partly believe this to be true and if you are looking at it from theocratical / Abrahamic based belief systems ie Judaism, true Christianity and some form of Islam it kinda tallys up buddy. Fall of man, Eden is pretty much shut out from humanity and the first two children of God are expelled into the EARTH (The Earth being now a corrupted kingdom of belial and his dominion for a set time to try out his false religions as the True God has allowed him to do. After all it is the devil who has slandered / rebelled. Satan and the devil making up these titles and not his true name. His name cannot be allowed to be uttered on the Earth as to call on it would invoke it. Many Watchers have had their names spoken on the Earth as have If I remember there being only two others - Gabriel and Michael.
When the Christ was tempted by his evil brother on EARTH he was told "If you bow down and do a act of worship to me I will give you all the Kingdoms of the Earth" This is in fact saying that belial is in tempory the ruler of this system of things on EATH at this present time. An interesting 1st prophecy relating to the KIngdom of God can be found in Genesis 3:15. To follow

Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."
Galatians 4:26 (Aramaic Version) But that Jerusalem above is free, which is our mother.
And finally "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places", EPH 6:12.

We are all living in this term Hell (ooh by the way Hell is in fact a helenistic translation of the word Sheol which means grave and not a fiery torment of dammed souls. This was a Lucifarian teaching brought in by the unholy Catholic of a church and is not a true teaching. We are all living in the different kingdoms of the wicked one so be aware people the devil is a cunning #. God is love and could not dam his creation no matter how we sinned to a life of eternal torment ruled by his adversary. Its written he will destroy the devil by throwing him into the pit of fire and sulphur after Christ's millennium rule to get us all back to the Garden of Eden & uniting us with the Kingdom of God.

gnostic shouldn't be taken care literally too. it's just a horror version of bible.

It's kinda true that we live in the world created by demiurge/mind (desire/greed/hatred/etc)

The mind creates an illusion that we are separate and different (discrimination). This started when your parent give your name and tell you that you're a boy/girl, your race, your status, etc, etc.

The world is nested prisons (Matrix): United Nation/Vatican being the outer prison, followed by Countries, Religions, Colors, Races, Families, Genders, etc

The truth is we are one big family connected to each other as One.

Every great spiritual teacher all give us the same key to Heaven, to use, or to cast aside at our own discretion. Everyone of them worth their salt is telling us the same thing, in different ways: Pride is our anchor here, and it is up to us and us alone on an individual basis, to release that anchor we grip so tightly, as if "hanging on for dear life".

This sounds similar to what Buddhism teaches as well. Desire and attachment to any physical object or anything on this plane is the reason for our suffering and never ending loop of reincarnation.

When we are here, we never have enough and want more and when we die, we return again because we never let go then either.

I almost agree.

Pride is certainly a large component of self-will, self-government and self-worship, which are the hallmarks of the fallen state. Merely humbling yourself is not enough, however.

Even if you could adopt a humble attitude (and not feel pride at your humility, which many do) you'd still have the tendency towards pride inherent in your being, because such an attitude comes from merely being alive. When you eat a meal, it is because your Pride says "I am worthy to continue living."

This world is not Hell. Hell is the complete absence of the Divine. On Earth, the Divine is masked, and we see it through a darkened window, but it is still available to us.

Of course, I believe that only believers in Jesus Christ will finally kill their Pride, and that only at the moment of death. Until then, it is a daily struggle to learn all of the ways in which Pride can manifest itself, and put them to death, one by one.

Arrogance is thinking you know the nature of our existence, pride is telling everyone about it.

The only thing I believe is that I don't know what to believe. Given that so many people tell us different things to believe I think it's time we ignore them and start believing in ourselves, just follow your moral guide and it will be alright.
