Senator Cruz pays for his insurance like the American people do.

Puhleese...He doesn't pay a penny of it. His wife is a Wall Street Executive, handles 14 Billion in assets working for Goldman Sachs...He is privy to a healthcare plan that the average American could not even fathom.

"pays for his insurance like the American people do."

Thanks for the comedy.

Mother Teresa kept the poor in her home convent in abysmal living conditions despite receiving billions in donations, she's not quite the saint you paint her as

Wow...just...wow.

Mother Teresa's worldly possessions when she passed consisted of one used gown and one wooden bowl.

The Pope once invited her to visit the Vatican. When she arrived in her dusty gown, an aide to the Pope told her she would need to change into more appropriate attire before meeting with the Pope. She replied "this dress is good enough for God" and turned and left without meeting him.

The Pope when he heard this realized the huge PR error that was made and sent a Driver and a New car to Calcutta as an apology so that Mother Theresa would not have to walk everywhere she went. She immediately had the car sold for money for the orphanage and sent the Driver back to the airport on foot.

Seriously...WTF? Mother Teresa...Just another leach to the ideologically deranged??

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Failing to stop at the scene of an accident, Driving without a valid driver's license, Driving without insurance, and Reckless driving.

For many of these violations, the driver will be taken into custody and required to post a bail bond, just as he or she would for non-traffic crimes. Incarceration sentences for misdemeanor convictions are less severe than sentences for felony convictions, and other potential consequences of misdemeanor convictions are also generally less harsh

Interesting that uninsured drivers go straight to jail. Or without a valid drivers license.

traffic.findlaw.com...

If you have no health insurance what is that? A misdemeanor, felony, tax delinquency, what? I mean with this new ACA scheme.

Never in American History has legislation that had widespread impact not been repeatedly tweaked and "fixed" by Congress as it is implemented.

Congress ALWAYS modifies and fixes large bills as they are implemented and passes sometimes 100's of minor tweaks.

The difference here is that with ACA/Obamacare, the GOP have refused to "tweak" or "fix" it in any way what-so-ever because they want it to fail or be repealed. Even simple oversights in wording that might save Americans more money if changed/tweaked...the GOP refuses to consider.

This is akin to a Apple being forced to release and sell the first Prototype iPhone they devised while at the same time being completely prohibited from improving upon it or fixing bugs.

Just another component of the "Damn the Country, Obama must fail" strategy of the GOP.

Is there any actual evidence of these wild claims ?

Or is your opinion simply to emphasize a conspiracy theory ?

Where's the beef ?

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. I already know Ted Cruz put on a show and I enjoyed it. Know why? Cause everyone else did much less. I mean you have to do more than him to blame him otherwise you are a hypocrite.

I see a lot of hypocrites in this thread. What did everyone else do?

Just kidding. Had you for a second though, didn't I?

Some of you people baffle me. Truly. It seems most of you gave up on yourselves a long time ago. Why do you remain, I wonder? Are you bored, and simply get off on crushing the hopes & dreams of your fellow man? Or are you on the disinfo payroll, perhaps? $85 is a damn good wage for an amateur disinfo agent. Just sayin'.

But hell... what do I care? I'm supposed to be an anarchist.

Yes, because of his wealth and employer he can provide himself with healthcare. Because of my wealth (much lower than his) and my employer I can also provide myself with healthcare. How is that any different? Jeez, I swear some children here go out of there way to hate people only because they have more money.

Indigo5, what is wrong with having a GREAT healthcare plan? If I worked my way up to a VP position at Goldman Sachs, I would be demanding a GREAT healthcare plan too.

True, not everybody gets to be a big shot finance executive but not everybody can break dance to impress girls either. You have to earn it.

Did Cruz's wife earn her position at Goldman and healthcare plan? not exclusively true but most probably. The fact that Cruz himself may or may not be attached to that healthcare plan bares no connection to his wanting to defund obamacare. He is claiming to do it for his constituents, the people who have been calling, emailing ,and tweeting him to stop the "trainwreck" as so labeled by the lead author of Obamacare.

So what is the problem?

In all seriousness, this IS a trainwreck of a healthcare plan. I dont care who wrote it.. Obama, Romney, Congress, God... who cares. Its terrible. I want to see a true AFFORDABLE healthcare plan that will benefit the PEOPLE and not the govt nor the healthcare mafia. Many of us are not hashing on this because we are against Obama and on the other team. Hell, I cant stand the repubs any more than the dems... but I know a trainwreck when I see it. Im certainly no fan of Obama.. but Id praise the guy if he said.. "this is on my watch and it sucks. Lets retool it." The man didnt write it, but he is the figurehead of it. Personally Id be damned if Id let my name go down in history attached to that failure.

???

You mean because of the woman he married? Don't you? Not "his wealth" or "his employer"...which is YOU and ME by the way.

And the post I responded to said that he paid for his insurance...He doesn't. His wife does, or more accurately...his wife's employer pays for it.

Perhaps you can also explain to me how Senator Cruz ran as the TP Favorite? And how much of his bankroll derived from his wife's Goldman Sachs income?

No irony there? The TP purportedly founded on the outrage of the Bank Bailouts? Goldman Sachs being one of the bailouts largest recipients of taxpayer dollars? His wife working for Goldman Sachs on Wallstreet at the time? Now Ted Cruz is the TP hero?

Is that the GOPs answer to the uninsured? Marry well?

Then demand it be fixed. The GOP fought for months about hurricane relief for Sandy victims and tried to deny healthcare benefits to 9-11 responders...You think they are going to pass any form of healthcare reform? Hell they barely agree on naming post-offices, let alone healthcare reform. DECADES AND DECADES folks tried to get this done. If it is repealed...we are all effed for good. I am well insured, but our economy will absolutely crumble and their will be an intellectual brain drain to other countries.

We rank #1 in Healthcare expense on the globe, but 37th for quality of service...

This is it, we are overdue...Nothing will ever get passed like this again. Don't like it? Bring facts...REAL FACTS...and if it needs fixing...FIX IT.

But nobody...LEFT OR RIGHT from DC to CA believes that the GOP will "Replace"...that is pure comedy.

One of the best posts you made in a while. I sort of agree with you, but remember just because you work for a bad company does not make you bad yourself. Its like criticising someone who works at walmart and calling them a loser.

I am not sure if it is ironic or not. His wife working at goldman sachs could prove a valuable asset in terms of inside knowledge of the croney capitalist machine called investment, as well as no doubt a tremendous financial boost to ted's campaigning.

The tea party needs all the help it can get. Rand Paul is not enough!

I am not even a tea party supporter. I am an occupy supporter, but occupy has gone silent of late, so anyone that fights the machine is welcome by me.

You do realize that makes you a resident of the land of the blind?

Ted Cruz half blind, in the kingdom of the blind?

I can live with that analogy...but I am not a resident of the land of the blind, neither are the majority of Americans and elections will continue to demonstrate that as figures like Ted Cruz continue to confuse the volume of his supporters with the shrinking numbers of supporters.

You know who wants Ted Cruz gone? Half the country and half of his own party...you don't have to be a campaign analyst to see what his Presidential prospects are.

Vitriol and social Darwinism is at it's most appealing to the public during times of deep financial crisis and stress...It's when people's lizard brains and fear centers take over. With each day of slow, modest recovery...people get less and less tolerant of the "Angry Show" politicians who have absolutely no solutions, just appeals to emotion.

Do you know why? Because health is a way over-valued profession in the usa!

Also in most countries, which all have nationalised healthcare, the government negotiates with big pharma in relation to many factors(especially cost of living) to bring the price down to make it affordable for these nationals. THEN they subsidise the cost to the federally insured recipients substantially. They pay anywhere between half to one tenth the cost of healthcare in america. This is what a true welfare state is, its not even socialism in the pure sense. Socialism died except cuba and north korea.

This means big pharma takes a big hit in international sales and has to make up the difference by price gouging americans. I know, I have travelled a lot!!

There is the rub. WE cant fix it. YOU cant fix it any more than I can. The gop sure as hell isnt going to... and I believe I was clear on not being a fan of either majority. They agree on nothing.. they do very little that benefits the populace without having some selfish interest attached to it. I believe it can be repealed and it can be replaced and at the very least CAN be retooled. Perhaps not within this current administration. I wouldnt trust it to be replaced by any party currently involved. I dont agree that nothing like this will ever be passed again.. I truly dont. We are at a critical point in our development as a country.. and as a people. There will be no way to bury the healthcare issue barring some domestic crisis from hell. I simply see the medical mafia preventing anything that would truly benefit the people. It will take one hell of an upheaval to make this right because those who are promoting this trainwreck and those opposing this particular trainwreck are both bought and owned by the health/medical industry.

Obama is the potus and he has made this his signature piece by his own free will. HE is who people can bark at because he claims this as his. He also has the power to turn it around in many ways. Thats what has people so upset over it all. Well some anyway.. some just hate the other team.
