I am not very clever, so may be nothing.
In all this confusion, when did the shooting supposedly start, do not know really myself, but found this article, was it up BEFORE the shooting.

ok... Then how would it have helped him get onsite?
I mean it is sounding more and more like there was virtually NO security or that somebody really dropped the ball no matter how you look at it. I don't see how this place in DC could have such lax security when we supposedly have terror threats all around us. I mean wasn't the guy packing 3 pieces?
Including one of these...
I mean if he was not taking in equipment and did not still have a job, how did this get overlooked? What's the point even wondering if he stole an ID or used his own?
We are talking virtually no security at all OR... he had a presumed job to do there, which makes this whole thing even more suspicious.

The suspect had a security clearance that allowed him onto the Navy Yard as part of his civilian subcontracting work, officials said. Alexis and members of the subcontracting team, according to law enforcement sources, were staying at a Residence Inn about a mile from the Navy Yard. The suspect's car was found on the Washington Navy Yard, law enforcement sources said.
A senior law enforcement official said he used his security clearance to get on campus and it appeared he did not force his way onto the property. Officials were in the process of getting a search warrant to search the vehicle, which was described as a rental car.
Authorities had earlier said they were searching for a possible second suspect, but officials said at the evening news conference said the search for a black suspect in olive-drab uniform age 40 to 50 has been exhausted.
It has been called the most popular rifle in America, and it briefly returned to the spotlight after Monday's shooting at the Navy Yard: the AR-15.
A U.S. law enforcement official said Monday that gunman Aaron Alexis unleashed a barrage of bullets using an AR-15, a rifle and a semi-automatic handgun. Authorities believed the AR-15 was used for most of the shooting, the official said. The news prompted Sen. Dianne Feinstein, one of the strongest proponents of a ban on assault weapons like the AR-15, to issue a statement the same day asking, "When will enough be enough?"
However, federal law enforcement sources told CNN Tuesday that authorities have recovered three weapons from the scene of the mass shooting, including one -- a shotgun -- that investigators believe Alexis brought in to the compound. The other two weapons, which sources say were handguns, may have been taken from guards at the Navy complex.
The sources, who have detailed knowledge of the investigation, cautioned that initial information that an AR-15 was used in the shootings may have been incorrect. It is believed that Alexis had rented an AR-15, but returned it before Monday morning's shootings. Authorities are still investigating precisely how many weapons Alexis had access to and when.

Wrong. They had the person on video. 3 'shooters' were on video as reported in the media. if there is only one, great, glad they shot him in the head. I am just curious that they said exhausted not cleared it. They said they cleared one and the other kind of 'disappeared'....

Yesterday the media reported the shooter used an AR-15 in the rampage. This caused an uproar from gun haters on the left. The FBI today, however, is reporting that no AR-15 was likely used.
