Sorry guys, I appreciate the hard work you have put into this 'new' look but I find it very hard on the eyes, harder to browse through topics, looks almost childish (especially the emoticons..they are bad).
Single file topic listings makes it much harder (especially with the colours) to browse through topics. The white is unusable for me and yet the black, although better, looks very dull and colourless. Im sure you have much more work planned to do with the look so I look forward to seeing the improvments.

The old style does look clunkier than the new one but it is much easier to navigate and browse topics. I definatley prefer the old as the functionality is vastly easier as more topics can be seen on screen at any one time. Functionality is far more important than looks, yet the new looks aren't that nice in my opinion.

Really bad on my netbook too.

Just reviewing this post I feel im straining my eyes to read the text. Can we change the overall colour scheme as the white and black are both not good.

I just had a bit of a shock to the system replying to a thread.

After the initial panic, I saw that all the main functions are still there, even if it all looks a bit huge and retro 1980's "Pacman-style" (but maybe that's in these days).

I had to change from white screen to black screen, and then it was the regular ATS again.

I suppose change is inevitable, and I'll have to get used to it.

My first confusion was the link symbol.

I thought it looked like an injection.

I'm not sure that would immediately be recognized as a pin globally.

I preferred the color and photo-realism of the old forum insignias.

However, I'm going to experiment more, especially since there seems to be a direct link to YouTube now (which seems like a promising shortcut).

I'd also encourage users to go to the bottom of the page when editing, and use the editing button next to the preview button.
I tried to edit at the top and got a constant advert that wouldn't close or go away, and basically trashed a whole edit, before realizing one can also edit by scrolling to the bottom of the page.

There no websites apart from ATS that are harsh on the eyes - this isn't a step forward.

Im no expert but cant we just use the jpg versions of the old smilies instead of the moving gif's?

Im ok either way...but there seems to be a HUGE amount of wasted space and large fonts...

The top right corner, look at the enveloppe next to the Green Magnifying glass, it will glow when you have messages.

Oh gosh, change the skin of the forums from eye-killing white with black letters to black(dark grey) background with white letters as it was, this is just horrible. And it used to be so much better for the eyes... I can't stay around with that bad change.

In the upper right hand corner there is a circle that is half white, half dark, click that to go into the dark mode of the site, it is MUCH easier on the eyes.

If you look up in the corner where all the tabs are there is a pie like icon that has a dark side and a white side. Click that for the dark background.

It wouldn't accept my Username and password but I recall being told that we need to put in a new one??? I literally logged in one minute before the change but as soon as I tried to add a picture to my profile that is when I got blocked and it wouldn't accept my username or password.

Loving the new layout on my phone. ATS seems to have finally entered the new age of website design. Not near a PC atm but I'll be checking it out later.

and what exists for those who cannot use either coloring?

And where are the tabs from where I can see my posts, it used to be at the bottom.

Why are the board stats and mods listed first in the Forums and then you have to scroll down to the forum topics?

It's not like anyone cares for that stuff, put it at the bottom of the page, if anywhere.

I realize a lot of hard work went into this. But what was wrong with the old version? Sometimes less is more, not to mention this new format is just plain ugly and hard on the eyes. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
