To clarify, I wasn't the anonymous author of the Project Condign report, despite a few suggestions to the contrary. Indeed, I've gone on record as saying that the study was fundamentally flawed in a number of ways. As for my use of the word "we", when I didn't write the report, it's difficult to get out of the habit, given that I worked for the MoD for 21 years.

Thank you for your reply. You have impressed me in more ways than one on this thread. I admit to being surprised as that relates to the often sad state of ufology. I did ask a question earlier that I hope you will answer:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I'm glad your website is linked here. Does it contain your critique of the Project Condign report? I'm of the opinion that such a critique, of such an interesting report, would be one of the more important offerings that "ufology" has seen in awhile.

The report almost seems a shame-faced admission. Brilliantly recognizes the plasma/EM aspect as pertinent and then engages in nonsensical double-speak.

I understand where your answers are coming from. I was with a Carrier Air Wing Squadron. All kinds of UFO's happen. There are no answers yet.

I do look forward to your books especially fiction. Those that you wrote were great!

In my case, I'll just take it as a "Yes" to my question.

I mean really, it's every bit just as logical as feeling personally ignored, if not more so... unless your question was rude or something, which I know mine wasn't... so why sweat it?

I don't think my question is easily answerable anyway as I firmly believe it is true.

Mr. Pope,

What is your opinion on the NASA UFO incident involving the tether that became detached from the craft and the consequent swarm of UFOs appearing to investigate the tether? If you agree with the official explanation, that it was not alien spacecraft, do you think there is a strong possibility that this incident was under-investigated?

Respectfully,

Justin Smith

the other case that still haunts me is the Rendlesham Forest incident.

When I say "Rendlesham" and that creepy feeling crawls up your spine...

the one thing that "haunts you" about it the most is...

Thank you sir in advance for taking the time to answer that.

Was the Tunguska event really caused by a meteorite? Thanks!

Edit to add:

Is there existing protocol for public relations in the event that an extraterrestrial artifact is in fact confirmed? I stress confirmed here ... is it clear what would ensue in that event? Would the discovery be made public? Is there even anything drafted that addresses this hypothetical?

The MoD's 'Project Condign' intelligence assessment of UFOs floated the idea of some sort of unknown atmospheric plasmas with highly unusual properties, but stopped short of speculating that this was some sort of life form. So we weren't quite suggesting something along the lines of Trevor James Constable's 'sky critter' theory.

Ah, how short did they stop?

I do not recall your stating an opinion about Dr. Steven Greer; I have heard him speak twice and read both of his books and think that he is bona fide in his knowledge and experience. I was curious in his one book that he mentioned that any civilization that has developed nuclear technology has had to develop a philosophy of peace - otherwise, destruction of the planet could occur - which apparently did happen to at least one sphere.

I realize you cannot comment on nuclear tech per se, but Fukushima is now contaminating the ocean and the HOPI warned that the US would be contaminated by nuclear radiation. If you have any astute thoughts
about this prediction, and within the parameters of your being allowed to speak, I would appreciate your
observation.

Nice having you here at ATS, Nick.

I would like to ask a few questions, if you don't mind.

1. What are your opinions on alleged "contactees" of some proclaimed(but unproven and unverifiable) Extraterrestrial groups? Are they really telling the truth regarding the stories that they are telling, or are some of them merely hoaxing? If just hoaxing, there are some that have lost so many friends, credibility and have resulted in estranged relationships with family members just for spreading such stories, so most have lost more that they hold dear than gained financial benefits.....

2. If you believe that some of those alleged contactees are legitimate, why would such ETs/interdimensional beings choose only a few selected inidividuals to spread their message? Why won't they contact millions of other people privately? Why won't they just decloak or manifest themselves in the air to send a message "We are here"?(I am sure they can easily disable guidance systems and missile systems in order for self-defense if they are peaceful and have no intention of attacking but just disabling those weapons systems for self-defense).....Do you think they have hidden agendas?

3. Also, do you think some contactees are really having contact with ETs/Interdimensional beings, or are they just been selected for some psychological experiments conducted by some governments to better study the human psyche?

Thanks for the trouble of answering....

I guess Belgium didn't cut it.

What I can tell you about the case is that US military officials visited daily with the Belgians about this matter. My source is a driver of such an official who worked at the US embassy in Brussels at the time.

What happened there is not a case of mass hysteria. Mass hysteria isn't recorded by F-16 and other radars. We will never know what really happened, even the air force did not exclude extra-terrestrial origins in its statements.

I'm signing off for the night, but will be back tomorrow. I apologize for not getting to every question. I'll dip back into previous pages tomorrow and will try to pick up some of the ones that I missed. Additionally, the moderators may bump up some of what they see as the more interesting questions that I haven't gotten around to.

Hi and thanks for the Q&A session here. Would like to see this sort of thing happen more often (accredited people bringing knowledge to this site).

I've read all your responses and it's been very helpful. I'm not terribly informed on the subject, but would like to know where you stand with the likelihood of historical ancient contact/involvement? Do you think/hope there's evidence to be found there? Have you come across anything that leaves you wondering this possibility?
