Hey Nick,

I live in Birmingham, UK.
Have you ever done any work here during your time with the MoD?

Dear Mr. Pope,
Off topic (I guess?),
but thank you for joining this site and (truly) gracing us with your presence.

I sincerely believe that voices like yours add credibility to an otherwise-out-of-control crowd willing to believe anything they are told or shown.

I look forward to your contributions, and appreciate the time you take in making them.

Thanks again,
Oak.

Did you question him extensively? Why does Edgar threaten people who question his "story"?

I used to like Edgar Mitchel until I heard all the stories of him threatening people.

What do you think he is hiding? Is he hiding anything? Do astronauts suffer from ptsd?

I'd describe myself as an atheist, which I suppose is somewhat ironic, given my name. I don't think my work on UFOs has had much of a bearing on this, though it's deeply ironic that the same Establishment that often mocks believers in UFOs puts "In God We Trust" on the currency. So religious belief gets a sort of quasi-official endorsement, separation of church and state notwithstanding, while belief in other phenomena unsupported by any scientific evidence doesn't.

I was wondering, do you have any pictures or video that you can share with us?
I am enjoying your answers thus far....

There's a ton of stuff on his web site, which he linked above. I think it's been slashdotted due to this thread, though. It takes awhile to load.

I went to his website at your suggestion and there are not any pictures of aliens at all...not even the greys, nordics, etc. that we are always talking about.

Do you believe that a few nuke explosions put us on the map in the universe in the eyes of advanced alien civilizations or do you think that it's silly to think that these minor explosions can be sensed by these species? After all, each sun is a giant set of explosions in itself.

I'm not a believer in any of the Nibiru/Eris/Planet X theories and I think NASA has it right here, where they refer to this as an "internet hoax":

www.nasa.gov...
I believe that our ancestors saw a comet much like "ISON" and they used their superstition/religious beliefs to fill in what they did not understand. What percentage of sightings have you found to be credible/unexplainable? Do you find that personal bias has contributed to peoples interpretation of UFOS?

Birmingham, in the UK, has certainly had its fair share of UFO sightings over the years and I investigated a few cases during my time on MoD's UFO project (1991 to 1994). More recently, I've given a talk there and recorded a couple of radio and TV interviews in the city. Aside from that, I haven't done any MoD-related work there.

Mr. Pope, are you aware of any UFO reports that indicate UFOs are some sort of life form? Whether it be a space traveling life form, or an atmospheric creature.

That would seem to indicate that you respect the DRAKE EQUATION a LOT more than Stanton Friedman does??? LOL.

IIRC, he rather shreds it as being an absurd equation because there are too many of the variables that we can only WILDLY guess at.

No sweat on not answering all my questions. I usually have an abundance of them. The ones you select vs the ones you skip over also yields an interesting "response."

Thx for all the time and energy you are giving us hereon.

It seems to me that Jacques Vallee's conclusions about the critters being evil spiritual entities coming from an evil spiritual DIMENSION might be in some conflict with your cosmology?

I'm not sure I'd characterize my conversation with Dr Edgar Mitchell as "questioning him extensively". It was a fairly in-depth conversation about our respective backgrounds, experiences and beliefs, as opposed to my quizzing him. I'm not aware of any threats he's made to people, but if I were an astronaut who'd put his life on the line in a lunar mission, I imagine I'd get pretty aggrieved if the most common question I got was "did we really go to the moon?" - eventually I might threaten someone too! Buzz Aldrin actually punched someone on this issue, didn't he? I can understand the frustration.

You should come here again, I'll definitely be there

I've seen one or two UFO's myself, nothing amazing just a bright light (extremely fast) changing direction in a bizarre way. The most odd thing I witnessed was at least 6 or 7 Chinooks flying past my old school about 3-4 min seperation. Very weird. More recently I saw an Apache or what looked like one just hovering for a good 20-30mins. I know there's a Royal Air Force station in Wolverhampton (not far) and one Army brigade.

Have you ever seen a UFO yourself?
And have you seen a UFO during your time with the MoD?

Hello Mr. Pope and welcome. Can you give us any insight as to your personal belief in this phenomenon? The question is not whether or not things are flying around in the sky that are not made by us humans, but what is the nature of these things. I think most governments are unable to deal with the phenomenon as it is actually presenting itself. I have my own thoughts on it, but I was wondering if you might share yours.

I wanted to add that I do not believe anyone is visiting us from some other star system. I think the whole thing is something else entirely.

Oh, and sorry if you've already answered questions of this nature, I have to admit, I haven't read through the entire thread, I just stumbled upon it.

Well I think it was Seth Shostak who said that any civilization capable of threatening us is already aware of us. Building a powerful telescope is probably cheaper and easier than building a spacecraft capable of viable interstellar travel, so if there are other civilizations out there, it's more likely that they're aware of our use of nuclear weapons than it is that they're actually visiting us.

This UK document is interesting especially the bottom of page 13 where advice is to I presume RAF Pilots no attempt to out manoeuvre UAP should be made during interception. Does that mean the RAF regularly intercept or try to intercept UAP as the MOD term it. ??

I should have shortened my long winded question.
What do you think Giant Trianglular UFO are?

My opinion below

*I think they are giant USAF stealth blimps
1/2 mile wide, made of Aerogel and Graphene
with giant video screens for a body.
These screens can project what ever is around them;
to be invisible, or to project lights that "appear"
to leave the scene in great haste. All the while
floating right where they were.
Or Aliens.....
