White privilege? White freaking privilege? Are you kidding me? Please tell me how I have benefited from being white. You can trace my "white" roots back to Irish slaves. Where was the privilege?

I was born to single mother who is to this day (I'm 29) a career waitress. My father left when i was born because he felt it was more important to smoke pot and play guitar then be a dad. I grew up in an 18ft tow behind trailer. Again where was my privilege?

I went to public school from elementary to high school. I attended community college on a grant (no it wasn't a grant for whites only). Again where was my privilege?

You want to know how I have personally been a victim of bigotry? Let me tell you. I am a white Police Officer with a shaved head and tattoos. I am a victim of bigotry on a daily basis. At work I am criticized and called names just because of my job title. I am treated like I am the scum of the freaking earth. Alls you have to do is read a few threads on this very site to see that.

I am called racist because I am white and have a shaved head.

I am looked down upon because I have tattoos.

I live paycheck to paycheck like a majority of society and everything I have I earned through hard work. I may not have much but it's mine.

So please again tell me how I have white privilege?

You know what I am going to go one step further.

When I am off duty I do not at all look like a "typical" cop. I am a metal head and wear band shirts and like I said have a lot of tattoos. I am also 6' 1" and 240lbs. Trust me when I walk by a women on the sidewalk they walk to the other side. I am sure they are clutching their purse or holding their childs hand tighter too. Just because the way I look.

Also I know people look at me and think I use drugs. I get approached all the time at concerts, bars and on vacations. What just because I dress a certain way and have tattoos I must be using drugs?

yeah.
I have some bad experiences with them around my parts. The majority of them here are on a huge power trip.. nerds that were picked on in high school that are looking for revenge.

That may be what you perceive but most of the cops I know (and I know a few) are former military. Hardly the victim type. Neither job is for the weak willed.

Does the NAACP promote that black people are better or desire to be equal? Answering this simple question crushes all of your gripes.

The NAACP are not demanding black people be made the rulers of this land or be given MORE than white Americans. The only thing they fight for is EQUAL treatment of black people.

And for this, many of you are foaming at the mouth! You need to take long looks in the mirror!

Yes, no other racial group has more influence in this country...it isn't like Whites have run this country for the past...oh...forever...or anything.
Well I'm sure it does sound funny because you completely misunderstood what I said.

I said no other racial GROUP not no other RACE. Try and read slower.

Oh, ok...I see.

Well in that case....Congress...up until 50 years ago was pretty much 100% white has had a lot of influence over this country.

This White victimhood stuff is getting old and pathetic.

The fact that you include Obama "may have ruined it for future black Presidential hopefuls" destroys your entire stance!

If we were a equal nation, how could one man destroy the chances of ALL black people? Did Bush destroy the chances of ANY white man being elected?

Gotcha don't I...

Nah that would be the Corporate Branch. Those with the money make the rules. Why not write a letter to Goldman Sachs since they backed Obama so strongly and tell them you don't like Obama's coziness with the NAACP. Maybe then you'll get somewhere.

That's nothing but a distraction in this thread.

You're scared to address the issues I've raised and are instead attempting to blame evil capitalism for all the ills of the country. Give it a rest!

Capitalism and making money ARE the root of all the problems in this world...besides human nature of course.

Kali?

Corporations play under the rules that politicians write up.

Help us get rid of the politicians and we'll help you get rid of the corporate graft and manipulation.

Deal?

You're smarter than this...

You know cororations play under the rules that politicians write up, that they (corporations) have bribed.

Getting rid of a politician will do nothing because all the politicians need do is buy the next candidate.

Seriously? Corporations fund politicians to write up whatever they want them to. It's a plague in both party's.
Corporations have NOTHING to do with the rampant racism coming from the NAACP and facilitated by the White House, DOJ, IRS, etc.

You’re just trying to work in your anti-capitalist nonsense and derail the thread. Move along.

So racism is only originating in the NAACP? Lets go ask the millions of blacks incarcerated?

They preach equality yet they certainly didn't want to give the Tea Party or Zimmerman equality, did they?

Ya right! Is preferential treatment equality? Please tell me how Affirmative Action (black quotas) is equality. When a more qualified person is denied work because a black person must fill the spot BY LAW that isn't equality.

And for this, many of you are foaming at the mouth! You need to take long looks in the mirror!
What would I see?? Do tell.

My age doesnt matter, and neither should the fact that there are and have always been racists in our so called "structured" system, and frankly its a bit naive to think otherwise.

There has been, but IN MY LIFETIME (I’m 39) the NAACP has been the most influential race-based organization. By the way, the KKK wasn’t funded by American tax payers.

The reason for the "civil rights movement" that you actually mentioned was due to the thing that you claim is no longer existent.

True!

Again….before my lifetime. I wasn’t alive during racial turmoil in this country. The only racial turnmoil I’ve been exposed to is that which has been drummed up by NAACP, Sharpton, Jackson, Obama, Holder et al.

BTW, I wasnt alive when Truman was in office, but until that is relevant (by asking how old someone is to try to discount the relevancy to the topic) to my great, great, great, great, grandchildren, than it still holds water.
I was simply pointing to the fact that since you and I have graced the earth with our presence, the NAACP has been the most powerful racial organization.

Please stop. If the NAACP were as influential as you suggest, black people would be in a much better place than currently.

Does that not make sense to you?

The NAACP may not be demanding black people be made rulers, but they sure are demanding outlandish responses to offenses. It makes it look more like revenge than the need to be equally treated.

I'm sorry, but when the NAACP and Missouri state representatives suggest that a Governor should NEVER attend his own state's fair again or that an offending person should be investigated by the DOJ and Secret Service, that's revenge. It has nothing to do with wanting equal rights.

You're grasping at straws now. White Guilt may have consumed you.

So because congress was primarily white 50 years ago that makes congress a white group? Do you realized that it was those same white people who gave us civil rights reform?

NAACP is a black advocacy group. There is no white advocacy group. The KKK is all but dead and they were anti-black racists more than a white advocacy group. What positive thing did KKK ever do for whites? Nothing!

And there is no "white victimhood stuff" going on.

Great. Then I'm sure you'll have no problem explaining how capitalism is to blame for the racist actions of the NAACP. How does capitalism promote racism? What does capitalism have to do with the IRS targeting a political group simply because their politics are different?

I'm not sure why you'd want to look like a Skinhead, but it's your choice to look that way. If you chose to, you could cover up the tattoos, wear nice jeans and a shirt, and let your hair grow and people would react differently. Change your style, and you could probably change the jobs you have access to.

Blacks, Native Americans, Hispanics... don't have a choice on their skin color and physical features.

As to the NAACP controlling things, well, why couldn't they get Herman Cain elected or put Jesse Jackson into the White House? Heck, why couldn't they get Bill Cosby or Morgan Freeman into powerful posts?

I think white victimhood has consumed you

Ya right! Is preferential treatment equality?

It certainly is not, which is why it is unfair that white people get preferential treatment...

If you think that is not true here is a study conducted by Princeton sociology researchers:
Barriers to Employment

The study showed that white male job applicants WITH criminal records are equally as likely to get a callback as are black male applicants WITHOUT criminal records.

It also shows that whites with a criminal record were three times more likely to get a call back compared to blacks with a criminal record, and whites without a criminal record were significantly more likely to receive a call back compared to blacks without a criminal record, everything else remaining equal.

But I suppose somehow you think this preferential treatment is equality since it is skewed towards whites?

This study was done in 2009, imagine how it would have been a few decades ago...
