And not every one in Missouri feels this way towards the clown.

You're right. The rodeo clown had been performing this act for four months at other fairs in Missouri and it didn't become a problem until it came to the State Fair. If you only knew what I know about the liberal who started this storm, you'd be appalled. We went to school together.

Personally, Im pretty disapointed that the Missouri State fair officials did not stand up and say you have no right to do so. State funding was only 40,000. I would have rather had a smaller fair. Money instead of freedom is not a choice I recomend anyone make.

I also read somewhere that the person in charge of TSA, has used this incident as an excuse to bring TSA security to rodeo shows.. Also the same individual, had said that the gentleman wearing the clown mask would be sent to a F*ma camp, and be re-educated there. Later his comments were removed.

I would think Fox News would be all over this if true, and I haven't heard them say anything about this.

I'm thinking Claire McCaskill was the first one to bring it up, but I'll have to dig for information on who exactly mentioned a continuing investigation into whether or not to actually withhold taxpayer dollars from the fair.

In a statement, Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill called it shameful and unacceptable. She noted that the fair receives taxpayer dollars and is supposed to be a place to celebrate the state.

Here is the person and the statements that ended up freaking Missouri State Fair officials out...

Minority leader for the House of Representatives Jake Hummel of St. Louis says Missouri taxpayers contribute 400 thousand dollars to the fair, and says the incident is an embarrassment for the entire state.

Hummel and other House Democrats are calling on House Speaker Tim Jones to call an interim committee to investigate the situation and hold someone accountable. Hummel says the fair received $400,000 in taxpayer funds for this year’s events, and asks whether that funding should be withheld if such political stunts are allowed there. He says the Department of Agriculture is the lead agency that oversees the fair, and believes that’s where the questioning should begin.

While I'm at it, I'll copy and paste a comment I made in another thread regarding Missouri Rep, Steve Webb, in Florrisant, MO:

Let me give you an example. An elected representative in Missouri came out publicly and demanded that the Governor of Missouri not attend his annual breakfast at the State Fair today due to "racism" displayed at the Fair. He said an apology was not enough. The fact that a rodeo clown was banned for life from the State Fair was not enough. The NAACP says that the Governor should NEVER come to the State Fair again. Seriously?!

I sent the Missouri representative an e-mail explaining why I thought he was just trying to stir up racial tension and why most Missourians aren't fond of Obama due to his policies, not his race. The response I got was unbelievable. This rep told me that I was filled with hate and that I had it in for Obama before he was even sworn into office! Then I got to hear how Obama inherited this entire mess and that Obama had pulled America out of it. Then he went on to say that my opinion was that of the minority since Obama had been elected twice.

I followed up with a response to say that the only reason I'm in the minority is because I'm well informed and check my facts, unlike this representative. I pointed out all of the Obama fibs told in his July 30th speech and attached CBO and BLS reports to back up why Obama was misleading the American people. Of course, I haven't gotten back an additional response.

I read the first four or five paragraphs when I thought it sounded a little too bizarre and then scrolled down to the bottom to see if it was indeed political satire, and it is. Was there something specific that you wanted to point out about the article?

I feel like a fool. While searching for the article I read, something seemed off. After digging deeper I found that the board of commision for the Missouri State Fair are all politicians and government employees. It says specifically it has to be ran by an equal amount of people from each party. The actual words from one of the representatives that drove me to that conclusion was that the state of Missouri had other places it needed to be spending that money instead of the State Fair now.

My head is spinning.

Yes. Unfortunately, it only took one flaming liberal in the crowd to contact every state official and national news outlets to push their race baiting.

Oh, I forgot-- never underestimate the power of those "flaming liberals." One of them can single-handedly ignite a media frenzy.


Look, I support free speech as much as anyone. I think anyone, should be able to say anything they want, about any president, or public official, or whomever-- as long as it's not threatening, etc. However, I think "certain types" of people have latched on to this story, because it gives them yet another chance to get all partisan and talk about those "evil liberals" and those "commie socialist democrats" and how they're trying to get rid of free speech, and make all your children bow down to Liberal Lord Obama.


But in your desire to have a knee-jerk overly-emotional reaction, and your desire be good little neocons and trash those "evil liberals" any chance you get, I think you're ignoring some pretty important factors in this scenario.




1- While people have the freedom of speech, as they should, very few people have "freedom of speech" at their WORKPLACE.

What do you imagine would happen to the cashier at McDonald's or wal-mart if they made anti-Obama comments to every customer that came through their line? Any guesses? Or pro-Obama comments, for that matter? Any political commentary, to their customers? Do you think eventually someone will complain? How do you think their boss will respond to that?



2- Even in an entertainment industry, where political commentary is far more common and accepted, a single low-level employee can not get away with this of their own accord. News anchors, for example-- news anchors make political commentary that could be seen as biased all the time. However, they do not interject their own personal opinions without the permission / approval of the show's writers and producers. They read from a script-- a script that was approved by their superiors.


What if during your favorite television drama, in the middle of a scene your favorite character suddenly breaks script, looks at the camera, and starts taking to you about why conservatives are wrong, and evil, and need to be stopped....? Any complaints? Think they'd have a job the next week?


No-- they'd never work in the industry again.



You're all blowing this out of proportion and looking at it from the wrong angle.


But I understand you need any excuse to have a knee-jerk emotional reaction, trash obama, and further alienate and divide your countrymen by talking smack about those "evil commie liberals."
