Oh you have got to be kidding me.

A lifetime ban? Seriously?

As another poster pointed out, lampooning the president is an American tradition.

Back in the 1970's I watched several expose's of communist Russia on TV and how bad it was. Two of the examples I can remember one such program gave were

a.) that school kids were never allowed to draw picture of Lenin because their drawings might portay Lennin in a poor light, and
b,) that there we lanes on the Moscow streets that nobody but the elite were permitted to drive in. I can attest to this being the case because I saw this in operation myself in the late 1970's.

Since I have been reading threads on this forum I have noted that school kids are being discouraged from drawing pictures of presidents but I have yet to read of some lanes on freeways in the US being reserved for goverment cars only but I'm keeping my eye out for this.

Over the years I have concluded that while the Americians and the west generally, were very critical of the Russion communists, they have also been very good students of the very people they critized the most.

I am buying one of those masks!

(I'm going as a petty tyrant for Halloween this year)

Why not ban the mask and free the man...altho it does violate his freedom of expression (but better than his total loss of freedom)?

Where's Wrabbit2000 on this one?
I'd like to know how folks from the Show Me State think about this!
Is a lifetime ban in rodeo the same as the NBA - like three years?
Wonder why the head of the state rodeo clown association resigned? Disgrace? Disgust? Disbelief?

Anyhow, as you can see from my "stoopid questions" above, I think the entire situation is "mentally and emotionally challenged" (Would've said "retarded" but that would have been insulting)

Wait a minute.....

It would seem that all this outrage is based on the flawed interpretation of the act as a racist one.

That's absurd. You cant caricaturize, mock, effigize or otherwise poke fun at someone who's skin is a different color than yours?

Then how the hell are we ever to be "equal"?

An Obama-mask clown at the Missouri State Fair was banned for life, after photos and video asking a crowd if they wanted to see Obama 'run down by a bull' went viral. The crowd cheered. Fair officials dubbed the stunt 'unconscionable.'

Sig Heil... "Thou shalt not insult or make fun of Obama!"

They didn't have any problems with putting Bush's head on a stick in "Game of Thrones" or attack Palin's children. Hypocrites!

I agree that getting all up-in-arms about a clown poking fun at Obama is ridiculous. Especially given the crowd that one would expect the clown was playing to at a rodeo in Missouri.

However, I very much doubt that Missouri State Fair officials had anything to do with Bush's head being on a pike in Game of Thrones.

Im in St. Louis. Its ridiculous, completely. All of my family and friends think so as well.
It just puzzles me that making fun of Busch was acceptable, hell even almost mandatory for libs, but no one is allowed to make fun of Obama.

Well, some days I'm a bit ashamed to say I'm from Missouri. Lifetime ban? Wow... Grow a thicker skin and Obama needs some too, while people are at it.

What did the clown do anyway???? He had a mask on. That's it. End of story. For that ONE offense, his means of making a living in that industry are now taken from him for life. For one joke, he's not permitted to make a living that way again. What the hell has American become?!???

The biggest thing here tho.... The Clown did NOTHING. The loud mouth announcer who just couldn't shut the hell up about it is who turned a gag into beating a dead horse into true offensive B.S.. Go ban the announcer for life!

......oh but in his position, he knows people and has connections. He was always safe. Meanwhile, a lowly rodeo clown, working a dangerous job for crap wages is expendable to the machine of political correctness. How sad.

it has already been prophetizied over 1000 years ago that we would be lead by the stupid. this just gave it even more veracity... i feel sorry for the guy in the mask. howver, if imwere to be a true conspiracy theorist, i would say it was all planned. they TOLD him to wear the mask!

These are only previews of things to come.

In collectivist mob-rule, every time someones feelings get hurt, ALL have to pay for it. There is NO Humor, NO forgiveness, NO tolerance.

The fallout from a Missouri rodeo clown’s mockery of President Obama continued as the Missouri State Fair said it will force all clowns to undergo sensitivity training and the head of the state rodeo-clown organization resigned.

The state fair commission voted Monday to ratify its decision to ban for life the clown in question who wore an Obama mask. The rodeo announcer and a second clown wearing a microphone asked whether the crowd wanted to see him get run down by a bull.

sensitivity training

The Liberal K
Ks have really gone hog wild with this one

Icing on the cake would have been Obama giving a quick address stating, "I am being cyber bullied" after the video went viral.

Sidenote: The Association leader should be given a round of applause for standing up for the clown they want to ban. That one there has some self respect and dignity.

I think 'they' was an all inclusive statement, meaning 'they' the media, the President, the DOJ etc. etc didn't raise a stink over it. Just my interpretation. I maybe wrong. LOL Personally I think it's more insulting to show a head on a spike ( ie 'Killed him and cut his head off') but it is free speech. Insulting but allowed. Never cared for Bush either btw.

The reaction of the Missouri State Fair officials has been embarrassing and humiliating.

No, they did the right thing. Whatever happened to the conservative rallying cry about respecting the office of the President blah, blah, blah? This forum has really degenerated over the last few years.

It's one thing to say it's disrespectful to the POTUS, but to say it's racist, come on, really?

I agree, it's the media and people involved making this a big deal. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised to find conservatives behind the scenes blowing this up to make democrats look reactionary.

I bet Obama could care less, he's probably going "what the...*facepalm*" himself.

I WISH he'd publicly say that satire is part of politics and he isn't offended.
