Again, I never said there were no abuses against the Native Americans. I'm simply trying to bring less-known information into the public sphere. One cannot simply ignore factual information because of a feeling of guilt.

I'm not sure why people can't get that.

Just a thought,

I wouldn't write off the possibility of America's colonization really being a concerted effort by all of Europe rather than separate nations acting independently. Consider that France, Spain, and Portugal were all countries heavily influenced by the Catholic Church. And really, who knows what the true relationship was between the Northern monarchs and the Catholic monarchs... some had relatives on both sides. The narrative that it was independent countries without a common plan is not a certainty in my mind.

Look at the end result, it played out like a unified takeover of the Western hemisphere by Europe.

Also, while playing the blame game and holding grudges helps noone- downplaying the losses by Native Americans isn't any more productive.
