Example illustrating the effect of cooling schedule on the performance of simulated annealing. The problem is to rearrange the pixels of an image so as to minimize a certain potential energy function, which causes similar colours to attract at short range and repel at a slightly larger distance.
The elementary moves swap two adjacent pixels. These images were obtained with a fast cooling schedule (top) and a slow cooling schedule (bottom), producing results similar to amorphous and crystalline solids, respectively.

I must have missed your post but what you have to say is very intriguing. I have listened to some of the videos and I did feel some dark emotions but, I am not sure if it was the music itself making me feel that way or if it was because I have read a few posts like yours and it is all just in my subconscious. Its a shame you dont feel like you can elaborate on what happened to you.
aHEMagain - I think you could have a point about interdermential beings finding it easy to "possess" the internet and that the Cassini is the language with which they are trying to communicate with these beings.
