Well..I'm just spit balling here...but I think seeing an off-duty soldier get his head cut clean off on a major avenue, in broad daylight and then hear the murderers claim pride in the action as a form of fighting for Islam might have had a little to do with it. No Jews this time. Gotta look at the much simpler reasoning for the immediacy of the problem, I believe.

I'm actually quite happy to have seen a 'majority' as it's described, within the Muslim community condemn the street actions and the more recent ones with a seeming pack of roving hoodlums out pulling more mischief in the name of their religion. It's refreshing to see Muslims calling out Muslims for their evil and wrongdoing for a change. Perhaps progress is made. Perhaps not...but it's a nice change from the old paradigm of "us vs. them" with no room on either side for intelligence or level headed thinking.

From what I understand in having read a great deal from what our British members have posted in the past about the EDL, they seem to represent one side's extreme while the head choppers who commit murder in the street represent the other extreme.

Both extremes are downright unhealthy for any society and can't much be tolerated, IMO. Especially when the Muslim community is openly, personally, coming out to condemn the actions of the few.

The way I look at it is simple. There are 1.3 Billion Muslims on Earth. If that religion were evil, inherently violent as it's practiced today or somehow against the West as a universal tenet? This would have been a MUCH shorter war ...and we'd have lost it. 300 million Americans has us outnumbered by 1 Billion pissed off Muslims ....had that actually been the reality of it.

Just my thoughts.

Don't expect much sympathy when it comes to the EDL. Most people on ATS claim to deny ignorance on subjects, however in reality they welcome it with an open arm. Especially if it has to do with Islam and anyone (or anything) standing up to Islam in Europe. On that subject, they decide that the best course of action is to embrace ignorance in favor of keeping a rose tinted view of the social problems brought to Europe by Islam.

Also, I've noticed several interesting things: Typically when a so called "hate group" has a peaceful rally it's the guys that are supposedly "peaceful" who are fighting, making death threats and the like. But again, people will claim otherwise simply because they love those rose tinted glasses too much.

It's not about ignorance. It's absolutely not about embracing radical Islam. It's about not judging Islam as a WHOLE group as badly as the radicals among them judge us as a WHOLE group. I don't much appreciate it when the Jihadis do it to my side so I try to be careful in not returning the favor against the 99% of Islam who have nothing to do with waging this war.

Hmm....he was outside the army barracks when the attack happened.....he was wearing a "Help For Hero's" sweat shirt....the vile scum that murdered him spoke on camera explaining what he had done......to whom....... and why.
