I don't think it means there must be previous intel, the meeting could have been because there is now a nationalist threat in the UK from the far right. This has been seen in the BNP, EDL and the (arguable) UKIP too.

The EDL are now fighting with police in Woolwich, that is reason enough to form Cobra after this terrorist attack. There is a greater risk of more social unrest in RETALIATION more than repeat attacks.

I saw that mentioned once as a possibility, changing policy to encourage civilian clothes. But that would only be sensible after this in my opinion. All the analysts have been saying that this seems to be "clean skin" or home grown.

Nothing on MSM about this yet as far as my search found. Most likely there's plenty of these retaliation attacks going on around the country at present. Probably expect it to get worse at the weekend.

It is extremely unfortunate that the edl and bnp will now get a surge of support, wether from anonymous donaters, or more messages of support through there message boards.

Not much "terrorism" going on, when it affects 1 person. The cameraman didn't seem "terrified". I mean, dude he's interviewing just chopped off someone's head??? Eyewitness Joe Tallant has said that the attackers looked like they wanted to be caught by the police.

Counter-terrorism expert Richard Barrett said it was possible the attackers may have been "copycats" of the Boston bombers.
Mr Barrett said: "I don't think we have seen much of this in terms of attacks on armed service personnel in the UK before.
"It may be that this is a copycat after the Boston bombings. That two individuals could cause a lot of mayhem is maybe more of an inspiration than attacking soldiers."
The former United Nations co-ordinator for the al-Qaida and Taliban monitoring team, who has served with MI5 and MI6, said it was clear the attackers wanted to "explain" their actions.
Mr Barrett added: "It looks like an attack which has certainly been done for effect. The way that they are hanging about and wanting to be arrested and explain what they were doing fits a pattern of people who want to send a message.

Suspiciously, this happened as Sweden has seen attacks from hundreds of Somalians.

You don't develop an accent like that over night so I would think it a safe bet that this guy has been through the English education system, lived and worked among English people and yet has still somehow been able to be separated enough from reality by some outside force to see the people around him as "the enemy"

I'm finding that kind of mind numbingly worrying honestly.

It's the same scenario as in a movie i saw few years ago. Young men on the edge of breakdown caused by financial and other problems meets a guy who comes from the country of his parents. The man helps this young man and over time brainwashes him into believing that UK soldiers overseas are killing and torturing civilians. After some time they plan an attack on the UK soldiers for killing civilians.

Something like this could easily happen with these men. People on the edge are easily brainwashed.

Just for your info, the police are different over here (U.K). But, as I understand it, the armed police were not there when that video was taken, they arrived 20 minutes after the start of the incident and shot two men almost straight away, who are now in hospital.
Contrary to news reports, violence of a bloody nature is not that uncommon in any inner-city of U.K but especially London. People don't get involved unless they have too as it usually a personal attack, (drugs/gangs etc) or a someone with mental issues. It was a particularly violent and graphic attack and I'm not sure people could believe what they were seeing when the attackers wanted to be filmed and hung around for 20 minutes instead of running away! That is the shocking part.
Why the government and media are constantly referring to it as a terrorist threat is beyond myself and everyone I know and remains to be seen, Ridiculous reporting on BBC and Sky. I.T.V news was better.
Hope that gives you some perspective from a U.K point of view.

Cameras generally dont stop crime. And they dont always catch the criminals either. And yes they are very much a negative presence in our lives. My parking fines are certainly not positive.

From my understanding video cameras observe life as it happens and does not necessarily prevent, but may alter peoples perception knowing they are being watched, it from happening either, please explain?

So the guys message is bring the troops back, they are not supposed to be there.

He also said something about our politicians not being the ones at risk, instead they put us at risk.

That's a pretty normal message, but they can't expect people to take it seriously after killing someone, killing someone to send a message is 100% the wrong way to go about it. Especially if it's because of a warped sense of morals.
