The point that you find difficult to understand is that a statement, or thought is far different from an action. Being or feeling disenfranchised can naturally make people hold various feelings which probably aren't approved of by wider society. A lot of thos thought and feelings will be shared by many on this site.

Where you seem to be confused when reading this and especially the poll, is that intention to act, preference, even stated intention is not implemented. Otherwise there would obviously be a far widespread of these incidents.
