All of the natives were not slaughtered as a Native American I say you are full of it on that part. And America took 15 million dollars off the debt that Mexico owed America for the land. Maybe you should read up on the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo And where are you getting this God crap at?

WOW yet another media forced assumption, keep going i heard them all.

It's preposterous to suggest that banning people based on their faith is going to to solve anything, and is so far from what I believe this country is all about that it makes my head spin. Not every Muslim agrees with Sharia law. There is no way they will "take over the country and force us to practice their barbarism". I enjoy America for being the melting pot that she is with tons of cultures coming together, including Muslims. The average Muslim is like the average Christian and most likely cares far more about living peaceably with neighbors than converting everyone to their religion or enforcing their beliefs on others.

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting many Muslims save for my neighbors (a very sweet young family) and the local cab drivers. I have had many great talks with the local cabbies, often staying in the car chatting 20+ minutes after reaching the destination (you pay by zip code not time with this company). It really is amazing to hear their stories about loving this country, how they respect others beliefs and just want to have a better life for their kids.

It seems we always need a group to vilify, we should stop that.

To me this is pretty ridiculous.

We as american's are supposed to have the freedom of religion. And not everyone in the islamic faith are extreme radicals. To me this just seems a bit racist.

How exactly would you stop Islamic immigration into the US?

Sigh, it's so very, very tiring listening to people who think that 'brown people' are the enemy. So let me put this simply for you:

Even if every single person in the world signed that petition, it'd be impossible to stop Islamic immigration into any country. "Why?" I hear you ask. I shall tell you for why.

Islam is not a person. Islam is not a race. Islam is not a country. Islam is not in the blood. Islam is a faith, an idea, it's an abstract.
It is impossible, in the world we live in, to stop the flow of information and the spread of ideas, without taking away every single one of the liberties you Americans so often talk about defending (although when it comes to people you don't like, it's pretty funny how quick you point out that everyone should have freedom...except them).

Could you prevent the immigration of a sub-genre of music into the US? Or a new type of physics? Or a new word? Or a new colour or shape or smell or the feeling of standing in the rain?

No, and the above question makes as much sense as the topic of the petition.

Sure, you could stop Islam being 'immigrated' into your country, but say goodbye to the internet, books, a substantial amount of history and culture etc etc.
And you should probably also get rid of shampoo, marching bands, coffee, wipe the make up off your females, get rid of your flame propelled weaponry, throw most toiletries out, give up hard liquor, and all manner of other things you use on a day to day basis.

Maybe the question shouldn't be about whether Islam has a place in America (as it's a stupid question. Every religion has a place everywhere), but why America is making itself an easy target for all manner of extremists. I could cite a long list here, maybe starting with pig bloody ignorance, but I shan't.

To paraphrase one of the first Americans, and possibly one of the most iconic:

'Mahometan' is an archaic term for Muslim, and simply means follower of Mohammed (or Mahomet in this case)

It is really a crying shame that America has been allowed to fall to the state it has. If the founding fathers of your country could see what had become of their magnum opus, it would break their hearts. America was the land of the free, and I truly believe that if it had stuck fast to the ideals it had actually been founded upon the entire planet we live on would be a much happier one.
And then we get this petition, a petition which spits in the faces of the beliefs of all those who fought so hard to free your country from the English.
