I'm probably going to be verbally attacked for this, but I support this petition. Our country is in danger of changing hands (again). It will only be a matter of time before there are enough Mulsims, radical or not, who will have a loud enough voice to influence matters on a national level. Then we will all find ourselves being oppressed under Sharia Law. I can tell you that I did not spend the majority of my life, defending this country, so it comes to this.

Thank you for your time and I approve of this message.

I'm sorry I missed all of the comments, let me try to catch up.

My own belief is that a complete halt to all Islamic immigration is unworkable. I'm torn on the question of whether it would be illegal. Certainly the country can establish it's own immigration quotas as they see fit. People who seek to be immigrants have no US Constitutional rights. The problem, as pointed out earlier, is that people would lie about their religious affiliation.

Americans need to drag themselves out of the Wild West and join the rest of the world.

Continued immigration is something the U.S. must accept, it needs to lose it's fear of the unknown.

I wonder how the native Americans feel about this immigration, are they quietly laughing?

Stopping this immigration will just cause friction with those already in the country...stupid and ironic!

So you want to deny application for immigration on the basis of someones religion? Would you also like to ban/limit the number of black people moving in to the USA (crime stats)? How about sexual orientation, too many gay people in America, aren't there?

There is a big difference between skin color/sexual orientation and religious ideology. One is a homogenous system of doctrine the other two aren't.

Well, if people in the US feel strongly enough to want to stop all immigration of Muslims into the US, then it's only fair that all US military personnel get the hell out of all Muslim countries!

The Muslims are already part of your supposedly mighty nation, what happened to "bring me your tired your poor your hungry"?

Stopping Muslims immigrating to the US now seems rather a redundant action if you ask me!

I also have to add if USA is going to rape and pillage the Islamic nations of this world it seems only good manners that they accept the refugees they created.

Just saying seems logical to me!

hold on there. The OP never insinuated that. To do so would, in my opinion, make him a bigot. He didn't. He didn't create the petition either, he brought it to our attention and expressed his support for it.

I understand his feelings, but can't fathom how he doesn't see the hypocrisy of it all.

His feeling is, if you let too many of "them" in, they become the majority and change the way the country is run.

Firstly, the majority has no power, as I showed in the 2nd post in this thread. Secondly, and most importantly, a petition like this goes against the very founding principles of your once great nation. Allowing that petition to get any attention, just proves that the US is still a hotbed of bigotry and intolerance.

And the best part?

Not all Muslims believe in, or support, Sharia. In fact, most of them that are moving here, to north america, are doing so to INTEGRATE into society and have a better, freer life. But, sadly, people like the OP have the right to disagree with that, and sadder still, some will go well beyond signing a petition.

I could never bring myself to discriminate against someone because of their race, religion, sexual preference, or anything else equally as meaningless. I just can't. Not because I'm Canadian. Not because I'm liberal.

I thought discrimination by religion was illegal in America, and generally placed in the same group with discrimination against sex, race, sexual orientation etc. Maybe I am wrong.

So we should rather ban all religious people and anyone who does not hold at least a Masters degree, from immigrating to the USA. That way we get a nice and educated, Atheis society. Assuming of course that we quickly force emigration of any religious people, and anyone who does not have sufficient eductation.

He never insinuated stopping any Islamic immigration into the US? Even though he admits to supporting the petition? In my opinion he clearly wants to limit or outright ban immigration based on religion.

Letting too many of "them" in might actually change things. Glogalisation is happening, however, so trying to choose the "correct" immigrants is ridiculous in my opinion.

As far as immigrants that causes terrorist attacks in America Muslims are next the bottom of the list. So your wanting to limit Muslims has no facts to back it up. Islamophobia is the only reason why you want to limit Muslims.

Yes I would limit the number of gay people. And the limit is zero. Being gay just goes against the laws of nature. Have you ever tried to build something with just two bolts? Or just two nuts? It doesn't work. Our survival depends on the union of a male and female. Not a male and male or female and female. And don't call my position homophobia either. By the definition homophobia is an irrational fear of homosexuals. I'm not afraid of them. I'M DISGUSTED BY THEM. Also do not try and use nature as an example of homosexuality being 'natural'. Male animals seemingly copulating with other males is a display of dominance and is not sexual at all.
