People on the run get desperate, I and others on this thread have pointed out the comparison to Raul Moat in the UK, he done the same thing went robbing chip shops and homes.

They need food, faces are all over the TV robbing the place might just seem like the best way to get what they need.

Sorry if they are trained then why did they make crap bombs, get caught, rob a supermarket, then one of these highly trained terrorists run over the other.

They have not been trained in a terrorist camp based on the information that we have just now the most reasonable assumption is that they are not Chechen terrorists.

That might change as more information comes out, I am totally open to the idea although for anyone who knows anything about the Chechen rebel movement this is very strange and it would be the first time such a group has sought a American target

I'm with you in that I don't think they'll have been trained by Chechen terrorists. But you're probably overestimating how good these terrorist training camps are.

By all accounts these people are complete idiots and far from being the well trained masterminds you might think. I've heard nothing from intelligence people about islamic terrorist networks of he like being hinted to that would suggestion any real sophistication. The general consensus seems to be that the training is shabby and the people being trained tend to be idiotic buffoons.

Another interesting comparison could be the 1993 World Trade Centre bomber Ramzi Yousef who was trained after he conducted his attack he got on a plane to Pakistan and went into hiding.

So again if they are trained as you claim then why did they not make better preparations for their escape.
