Russia fought a war with Chechnya and retreated, now America will attack.

Checnya is near the Caspian sea...another geopolitical chess move coming up. Bet the US troops never thought they'd be heading to Checnya.

If confirmed...I bet my ass Russia will invade Chechnya again on Americas behalf without telling them as the Russian DO NOT WANT US troops so closely to their southern border.

Does anyone know that rationale behind the controlled explosion that the police are/have been planning? I don't quite understand what help that's gonna give.

Seriously, if these are Chechen and we think of Beslan, we should use caution all over for the immediate term.

they have located a device and will detonate it. Not 100% sure, but since loggin in I have heard they have been detonating devices when they find them.

They pile sandbags around the bomb and blow it up in place in case it is boobytrapped or unstable.

Ahhh, so they've been finding devices. That makes a lot more sense. I'm following on the BBC and the reporting is just skimming over everything. I didn't even realise they'd found anything.
