this is why its so annoying when people, who dont even know anything about the whole jesus christ story in the bible, try pulling out lines from teh old testiment like i need to follow it. if you read the bible and read my last post im trying to tell you its no longer a concrete from of the religion. the 10 commanments and loving everyone as yourself is pretty much the golden rules. thats why im giving you a load of sass right now because if i was you id want someone to do it to me too if i was acting just as imature and ignorant to the facts and then pawning my opinion off ass fact as well. how do you think theres a commandmanet that says do not murder and then you think cause a passage said "stone a man that lies with another man" and think you need to do that too. its hypocritical, thats why reading comprehension is so important and taught in grade school in hopes to prevent people from becoming like night audit.

i got a question for you guys though. if you dont believe jesus was anything special. (even though were here talking about him thousands of yers later..)& i hope you see the irony there.. then who was he exactly?

EDIT: I can´t resist to answer your question though. Jesus was in the same way the son of god as was buddha, krishna or horus for example.

He was a good guy who tought a good message. The resurrection was told by his followers and maybe THEY really believed it happened. But it didn´t.

Unfortunately the good message of jesus was later used to kill pretty much everyone who believed differently.

In short, great guy, good message, not the son of god.

I mentioned that because YOU said that this quote of your prof is somehow proof that jesus was the son of god.

All I did was point out that even the guy you quoted didn´t actually say that. He said that jesus was either the son of god or a "lunatic and madman".

Therefore your quoted text proves nothing, as it leaves the option of jesus not being the son of god.

I hope you could follow that, I can´t really simplify it any further.

Your missing the main point which is. You want say he was a good teacher without saying hes the son of God as well. if you dont think he's the son of god your saying some nut job was a good teacher. You wouldnt say some bum saying "i'm a dinosaur"is a good teacher. People would most likely do the oppositeof that man because he's crazy. You dont do everything he says thinking its great wisdom then in another breath call him crazy. How are you going to agree with what he says if he's just a lunatic?

Wow, you are really drifting into la la land now.

Ok, here are a few thoughts on that.

Ghandi: Great teacher, not the son of god.

Buddha: Great teacher, not the son of god.

Mother Theresa: Great teacher, not the daughter of god.

Yoda: Great teacher, not the son of god.

Do you see a pattern here?

Implying that nobody can be a great teacher without being the son of god is a little far fetched, wouldn´t you agree?

And again, I never said that jesus was a "lunatic" or a "nutjob". You and your professor seem to like to insult him though.

I have high respects for jesus and his message, I just don´t think Christianity is the "only" true way. In the same way I have a lot of respect for the dalai lama without subscribing to his faith.

The huge difference between then and Jesus is THEY NEVER CLAIMED TO BE GODS SON. So they are not at all like Jesus. So if someone said im the Son if God tomorrow, youd think hes crazy. Now why did someone like that mean so much back then? if he wasn't looked at as you would view a man saying that same thing in the street tomorrow theni have to believe he was more than just "some guy who was a great teacher"
