Also, how did they know the bags were black? Would there be enough of the bag left after the explosion to know that?

There is always something left after an explosion goes off get a few or enough pieces they can make an "educated" guess.

After all that is what they do for a living.

Pieces of both the cookers and the bags would be present. As small and scattered as they may be, it is still entirely possible to point to where these pieces came from. Amount of pieces, location of pieces, pattern of debris, etc ... they'll be able to tell you an awful lot from that.

Now they're saying the cookers were attached to boards that had jars of nails and bb's in them.

That would explain how people were hit with nails and such.

How do they know this stuff?

Radio detonators is the most dangerous means of setting off explosives there is a reason why in blasting areas they tell people to turn off "all radios" because of accidental detonation.,

They likely have a hundred techs trying to identify all the material at the blast site. The metal closest to the explosives might have a different/stronger chemical signature than other schrapnel? Pressure cookers might use specific grades materials of metal, been machined a specific way etc.. ..And maybe similair metal with similair chemical signatures indicating it was part of the explosive device was found at both scenes? Or WTF....maybe they simple found a chunk of metal with the makers mark "ABC Pressure Cooker" on it

Witnesses interviewed and they are pouring through pics and video from BEFORE the blast.

Right...and race coordinators are all about walkie-talkies and radio comm.

Phone detonation is the most likely scenario..and like you said a hacked or disposable phone.

Black powder or Hydrogen peroxide for explosive...cell phone for Detonation.....terrorist weapon of choice these days..Simple, but effective.....just a guess.

Same way they find out it was pressure cookers in the first place. Pieces and parts. Debris radiates from a central location. Personally, I'm guessing that some of the larger pieces of the board and bag would have been blown away from the incindiary portion of the explosion, in effect "preserving" the pieces.

So a car running over marathon runners in a cartoon is the same as an explosion that has killed an wounded mostly marathon viewers????

That seems like a stretch.

Just had a thought about 'the guy on top of building'....

I viewed the photo just now and to me it looks like there is a seat up on that roof, maybe a few seats and he was possibly seated up there until he heard the blasts, got up and starts to walk towards the black door which is in his direct walking path.... I assume this door leads to the roof and back down again.

But I'd like to know why he hasn't come forward to Authorities yet so as to discount himself as a suspect?

Just saying that he is heading towards the door to come down and take a look... thats what I'd do if I was up there watching and all of a sudden hear a blast!

Well they did find and dismantel a third bomb...correct?

I would think they would all be similar...so if you have one as an example, I would think it would be easier to piece the parts together of the two that did detonate.

in any event, what i find....hilarious, and somewhat sickening on the informational side of this thing is the sharp difference in the way this is being reported...i tuned into a local station about 3 hours after it happened. they were calm, and reporting the facts, and said they would keep the viewers posted as information came in, and that nobody knew who, how or why this happened, they were very specific about it..the video of the event was steady, very professional-looking

then i turn to CNN...and holy s**t, wolf blitzer is ramping up the fear....they've got their spiffy little "boston bombing" graphic up, and the ticker is full of fear, and wolf's talking about how it's a terrorist attack, and doom, doom, doom..meanwhile, they're showing footage from the ground, and it's all shaky and chaotic, and the cameraman's all like "we've had an attack"....and all i could say was "seriously?"

keep in mind, this was before the president had even had his presser...

then i go to fox news, and it's more of the same...guests talking about terrorists, and more doom....

both stations were reporting nonsense about it being IED's, and terrorists, and suspects in custody, meanwhile, the presser held by the mayor of Boston, and the governor of Massachusetts said they had nobody in custody, and that nobody was EXACTLY sure WHAT had happened other than there were explosions, and that folks were hurt.

in any event, it just goes to show that MSM is really nothing more than propaganda, and doom porn.....should be illegal...

my predictions are simple, and i shall explain them thusly:

Scenario A: it's declared an act of terrorism by North Korea. we use this as a pretext to invade the north, and we're there for the next 10+ years, fighting a war we can't afford, against an enemy we can't ever really defeat (sound familiar?)

Scenario B: it's declared an act of terrorism by North Korea. we use this as a pretext to invade the north, and World War 3 begins. 10 years from now, most of the earth is irradiated, and humanity is set back thousands of years...

Scenario C: It's declared an act of terrorism by a militia group, now that we (conveniently) have precedent set by an IED attack in america, DHS rolls out it's MRAPs, and we enter an increased level of police state nonsense...militias are completely demonized, and they go after anyone who defends the second amandment, for being a closet militia member, and nobody says a thing, because we were attacked...

i draw these conclusions, based on the reporting i've seen since yesterday.....finestein was saying YESTERDAY that it was a terrorist attack, less than 3 hours after it happened, when NOBODY knew what was up yet. and i believe she was also trying to imply that it was domestic terrorism....i really don't like where this is going.

this is indeed a tragedy, and a travesty, and you better believe the federal government is going to milk this for all they can get...mark my words, no good will come from this.

Who is to say he hasn't?

And that was the worst position to be in if you were the perp. The explosion is right beneath you, rubble could block you escaping the building, or the building could catch fire...or the cops might secure the building quickly before you can get down from the roof etc. And you are highly visible. With all the cover the crowds afforded folks standing on the roof above the explosion would be the worst choice.

What the heck a Family Guy episode had a Boston Massachuset reference in it Called Turban Cowboy.
Even has reference of a Boston massachuseetts bombings on the show Family Guy.
