It's a good place to air controversial things -- but yes, it seems to be heavy on the Chem trails and SOFT on the science at times. America has the greatest discrepancy between rich and poor right now, and their biggest concern is Socialism and Gun "freedom". A conspiracy, usually involves a few profiting at the expense of the many -- there just isn't a pile of money for clean air, or general prosperity - it's a benefit that is distributed to everyone.

But this place at least is entertaining, and I joined it because I thought the 9/11 investigation stank to high heaven. It's probably a blessing and a curse that I'm fairly sure nobody outside the blog takes it seriously.

Whats even more disgusting is the audiance laughing in the background as Jon Stewart makes a comedy about how our representative pass laws without knowing whats getting passed. This is sickening!!

This country is DEAD! The spark that formed this country is gone and is now like a pot of frogs slowly boiling to death.

You're over reacting...Its called SATIRE!

your view on this topic is exactly what i was thinking.

instead of laughter everyone watching the video should be... if not angry.... very concerned.

a bill was signed without being read?
potentially, monsanto is now legally protected against law suits regardless if they are at fault or not?

there isn't a conspiracy here. the only thing i see is greed.

Uhh, again, Its Jon Stewart, his show is supposed to be funny, If it wasnt, it wouldn't be called Satire, and it wouldn't be on COMEDY CENTRAL.

That would be your opinion, but at the end of the day so what if it is. The point being that this was already exposed by a right wing website...but the Democrat crowd ignored the information because it simply being "right wing." Now being presented with this same information by Jon Stewart, Democrats accept it.

This is the problem we are facing, that the right / left wing acts like a horse with blinders on. Only able to see "their" side of things. I consider myself a conservative but there has been many a time that I can see the positives that liberals bring to the table.

Why can't more people do this?

Almost no one knows about his connections or history or anything like that.
So it's worth sharing since it's rare.

That's just plain untrue. Anyone who follows him has more than once heard of his family ties from himself. You talk of truth yet twist it around to suit your point. This information is not rare at all. For gods sake you yourself posted a quote from wikipedia.

You are full of it man.
Almost NO ONE knows that info, even around here at ATS.

Stop worshiping a TV character blindly.
Get off your knees.
Think for yourself for once.

No one reads wikipedia except the top 5% literates.
No one cares about information anymore, except that 5% literate.
I don't know what country you are from, but in the USA, knowledge and information are not exactly considered fashionable or hip.

And BTW, I have been following Stuart since the first season of Daily Show, I have his joke literature too, and no where did I see him mention his family ties, not once!
The one show or so you are talking about where he did mention them, I missed that episode and have never seen it.
I don't even know which season it was from....

Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz = Real Name

Jon Stewart = Stew Art? Stage name....

So actually Stuart is accurate reality, while Stewart shows belief in TV realities instead (and ignorance of reality).

I am fully aware that everyone is bias. It's impossible not to be.

But those with "party affiliations" are untrustworthy as they will sacrifice the truth or ethics for the promotion of and attainment of power for their party.

No he isn't mad about the comedy show hah.

He is mad about Washington DC and their traitorous ignorance.
Which we all should be, if we have any brains left.

Do you think it's cool for laws this massive to pass without any oversight at all? With secret lobbyists actually writing the laws and controlling our govt? Is this satire? No it's harsh reality.

I still laugh though because I realize how trivial and petty our civilization has truly become.

and yet you think that John isnt a part of that...........holy crap you gotta be kidding me.....

Look I like Stewart as far as his show goes because some times the guy really cracks me up, but hes NOT shy about his politics........seriously.....

I cant believe you can sit there and tell me how party affiliations are untrustworthy in sources and material and NOT include John in the same sentence , and do it with a straight face

Agreed, it could work in theory.

But humans cannot be trusted with power. So I guess it's outta the question.

It is wise to be distrusting of unrestrained power and avarice.

It really requires a complete and full understanding of the interaction of every species, cell, bacterium, macrophage, virus gene, enzyme, protein, RNA and DNA strand involved with every modification. You basically need to test that modification against the local environment. Which is what natural selection does, but at least the interactions are reduced by just keeping modifications local. With GMO, you make a change, distribute it across the continent, and hope for the best.

Correct, we will need quantum computers and all sorts of other advanced technologies.

We will have to know every single little chemical reaction going on in nature on Earth.
Then we will be able to successfully genetically modify any organism or even create our own from scratch.

That will take maybe, a few million years at the rate of advancement we are going right now.
Let's assume no WW3 happens: make that 25,000 years.

Of course those dates are arbitrary but used to make a point of how incredibly complex the problem is, and how incredibly primitive we are at even beginning to understand it's true scope.

Whoa there lol. I am the only one here actually criticizing Jon.
I am the only one using his real name.
I am the only one showing the hidden realities about who he really is.
How is brother is the COO of the NYSE at the same time he has stories condemning the NYSE.

In my thread I wrote about Jon, I even revealed his potential connections to the infamously mysterious "Foundation X".
My Old Jon Stuart Thread

I have tried being as nice as I could to not condemn the guy harshly. I just wanted to condemn his actions softly as disingenuous at best.

I have been including Jon in the "everything is propaganda" theory for quite some time.

Did you know his guests all read a teleprompter inside Jon's Desk? The top of the table is see through from above, but dark from the sides. If you research this you will find it's all true.

The guests all read a script. Watch their eyes, they look at the table constantly to read it.
None of the information presented there is genuine or legitimate as a result of this type of stage-manipulation tactic which is sly and misleading.

I meant well designed organisms that operate correctly and co-exist with the natural setting they were put into.

Of course we can create stuff right now, but it's primitive and problematic. And extremely dangerous!
We simply don't know enough data yet to make excellent choices in creating anything just yet. So as a result all of our choices will be short-sighted and result in failures (when it comes to making new GM species).

good I hope they keep up what they are doing and accidentally create a GM species that targets and kills all their GM crops and leaves other stuff alone, and they cant stop it lol...

That would be poetic justice

That would be hilarious actually.

Now that you mention it, hell, anyone with the brains and equipment could create a GM killer virus that targets only specific organisms (that happen to be GM variants).

You may need to design several of them though, because attacking a vast array of organisms would be difficult with only one route. Having an assortment would seem to level out the odds.

We should probably remove those posts and contact a plant geneticist ASAP to get that program started....

I am thinking these new laws just passed would give you legal protections for creating an anti-GM GMO.

Think about it. How can they sue you with these types of laws in place for doing the same thing they are doing?
