Well, it would be funny if the topic wasn't so serious-

Whatever you think of Jon Stewart, he does a pretty good job of exposing the outright unbelievable reality of how America passes laws. The majority of the law makers didn't even know about the act!

Video says it all, not really much more to comment, laws written anonymously and passed without the law makers paying attention

The problem is, that seems to be the norm, for our "supposed" representatives. They are signing OUR lives away, without reading what they are signing. It's all about "what will you give me, if I say yes to this?"

Pretty disgusting watching that video.

But lets pay no attention to that.

Lets instead blame the American People that have no control over what goes on in our government.
Or lets blame any of the puppet presidents that obviously have no control in this case either.

But lets not blame the bought and paid for politicians in congress, lets not blame the puppet masters that consist of Big Corps and Big Banks that pretty much run our government now.

Whats even more disgusting is the audiance laughing in the background as Jon Stewart makes a comedy about how our representative pass laws without knowing whats getting passed. This is sickening!!

This country is DEAD! The spark that formed this country is gone and is now like a pot of frogs slowly boiling to death.

Monsanto is pure evil. We're looking at the real life equivalent of the Umbrella Corporation. Not only are they bloodthirsty in regards to money, but at the heart of it there seems to be scientists who do things to prove that they can with no consideration for whether or not they should....

There aren't many people, places, companies, etc that I legitimately hate.... but I can say without hesitation, that I genuinely hate Monsanto. We've even started a large garden at home with seeds from companies not associated with them in any way.... not for health reasons even though organic is better; simply because we do not even want to take the risk of eating their GMO veggies, or contributing monetarily to them.

They are a pervasive element in our food and this country, so you can't avoid them altogether, but that won't stop me from trying. I avoid McDonald's because of their association with Monsanto, I have also stopped watching television networks where I have seen advertisements for their Roundup products. Any television network garnering ad dollars from Monsanto is not a network I want anything to do with.

I hope they all burn in hell.....

That first line made my day

The reality is, in the future, GMO will BE the future.

They are expanding at a frightening rate, politicians are completely sold out, the major corporations (Bill Gates, Rockerfeller, Rothschild Foundations) are supporting AGRA (which is experimenting with GMO in Africa), a day will arrive when the majority of the world's food supply is owned by a corporation.

That's bad enough, but when we consider the health impacts of GMO, and that they may be able to tweak their products- a population that dies at retirement age, or whatever, I am in full agreement with you, they are evil to the core.

Africa is being used as a continent sized guinea pig for GMOs. Africans do enough to terrorize each other without GMO corn which has been linked to various maladies making things worse. GMO manufacturers are making every effort to exploit unethical opportunities there.

I'm not against GMOs on a theoretical level. In fact there is opportunity there to improve our world. The problem is there doesn't seem to be anyone that we can trust to have that much power over our lives.

Not that there isn't always someone waiting to screw us in some way or another.

the corporations run this country. as George Carlin said "this country was bought and paid for a long time ago"...and what do American individuals get to fight about...abortion, gay marriage, religion, socialism,....crap that the corporations don't give a damn about....but...anything to do with hurting their profits, they'll kick you and I to the ground, and keep stomping on our heads until they get their way....

Yeah, I've seen that report in another thread, were it was immediately torn apart. It's just sad that even having someone like Jon Stewart trying to bring this to the peoples attention, nothing can be done about it, and Monsatan will continue to grow all over the world.

I'm just glad I live in the country, and can grow my own. But, how long will it be before even that somehow becomes illegal? And I still have to worry about contamination from the farmers fields.

Yeah I enjoy Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz's program usually.
It has been heavily infiltrated by propaganda though in recent years, so you need to be very careful what slant is being taken and not buy too much into it.

Check out this info in case you didn't know it already:

He and his older brother, Larry, who is currently Chief Operating Officer of NYSE Euronext (parent company of the New York Stock Exchange),[14]

Wiki link

His brother Larry is COO of the NYSE parent company.

Did you realize that? While he tells us anti-stock market stories, his brother is running the market?
That info is pretty rarely disclosed, as it's quite sensitive apparently and can compromise "Jon Stuart" Leibowitz's ratings or credibility.

Don't get me wrong he says a lot of truth at times, and his show can be incredibly funny, and I do tune in time to time. Go nothing against him I like him usually. He is sort of a sell out, but what celebrity isn't??

Anyways, take it all with a grain of salt.

For the record I am 100% against Monsanto and their mode of operation. They are one of the most malicious corporations out there.

Agreed, it could work in theory.

But humans cannot be trusted with power. So I guess it's outta the question.

It is wise to be distrusting of unrestrained power and avarice.

So what if he is related to some corporate shill? How does that change his words? Also he has himself commented on his family so it's hardly some secret.

He's right on when he says the only way to get our legislatures attention about a bill, is when the lobby group writes them a check! Isn't hat so true.

I had actually heard or read, the the bill prohibited ANY law suits as a result of any GMO issues.

So, when you grow a 3rd arm, enjoy it!

With a country as corrupt as the U.S. on top of the dung heap, maybe worshipping a demigod Kim from North Korea wouldn't be so bad, after all...

these cocksuckers did the same thing to the poker world with the Unlawful Gaming Enforcement Act. that cost me over 25k in cash and two years earning potential which would have easily been another 100k.
