What is it like being dead for eternity?

Bible says:

Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.

It says there is no work, thought or knowledge or wisdom when you are dead. Cause when you are dead you are going to Sheol. And there there is none of the previous.

AhlonSavage, do you think that when one dies the person will be like that forever? I don't know if your claim is a certainty. Scripture would tell us otherwise.

If you pasts the tests set out for you to find your way to the path of light you reincarnate outside of the Earth. If you have failed to learn your lessons and serve the ego continually you reincarnate on Earth. There is redemption eventually even for the likes of Hitler.

Eternity is nothing without a measure of time. How do we measure time? We measure it by the passing of the sun and moon. Day and night. Past and future.

We don't know the far future or the distant past. We only know what is in the now and the current. The past is molded by our memories and the future by our dreams.

Time is an illusion.

On the topic of death, we are dying every second. We are coming to our demise. We don't know when but that is our end. As it is said, when you die, your life flashes before your eyes. Your life is flashing before your eyes right now.

Eternity cannot be explained in words but can only be experienced

If you truly desire to know what lies beyond, increase your energetic vibrational frequency through qi-gong, meditation and visualization so you may travel the spirit realm in your astral body once you have achieved the technique of etheric separation.

You did not exist before you were conceived and you will not exist after you are dead. Sad but true!

Ive had dreams where I have died before and haven't woken up!

I fell from a building and hit the pavement hard, dazed, i got up from the cement and someone walked up to me and shot me point blank. Before I died I yelled "I love you moooom" So i died in a dream and Im still sleeping. from a 3rd person pov I laid on the floor and then switched to first person. But in first person pov I just saw pitch black. Thinking how long will i lay like this my body in a smooth motion went down past the pavement, like if your being lifted up but drifting downwards. I could see again and saw the word, the buildings, the cement but from underneath. Then it felt like the "capsule" i was in drifting downards broke and I was my soul, free to move where I want now. Unfortunately I woke up! :/

I think the capsule in my dream represented the safety net, imagine you died a horrible death like a stabbing or being eaten alive or on fire. you would drift slowly away from your body seeing everything and then the safe comforting capsule releases your soul and your free to move from there on out.

well if you go with the biblical perspective we are all in the matrix, a test ground before we awaken in the 'real world' .. a test ground designed after 1/3 of heavens angels revolted, you simply couldnt just poof angels into existance anymore you have to test run them first

of if this is all just a simulation, in an alien computer, then you'll probably be saved forever to be brought back at anytime exactly like simcity

When i die im afraid im not going to remember anything from my life, The lady i fall in love with, the children i have and the memories of my life. I do believe that something else happens so im not afraid of there being nothing but im afraid that the something that is going to be there may not contain these things.

I kind of go back and forth from a) believing, as an atheist would, that it's just lights out and no sense of anything at all --- like fainting or being under anesthesia to b) it's just like the 'near death' experiencers say --- you experience a very idealistic place where there is God, beauty, and peace.

Of course, I don't know. Sometimes I'm pretty sure death means there is nothing 'on the other side' and other times I think there must be something to the near death experience phenomena.

I do think we living mortals were not meant to know for sure what happens. However, I also think that science, physics, may someday reveal that reality is not what we think and therefore, death is not what we think. Buddhists don't believe in death at all. They say our bodies stop working but our minds just pass into another reality. They could be right and maybe someday quantum physicists might have some kind of indication that the Buddhists are and were right all along. If that's the case, then you would have to consider whether reincarnation is what happens or not.

I'm sort of at peace with death either way. If it's like fainting or anesthesia, well I'm O.K. with that. It has been mostly charming to have been alive, if only once and for a relatively short time. On the other hand, if there is some sort of surprise of a mind-only, but beautiful existence after death, in which we will see and commune with our dearly departed relatives before us, then O.K., great, I'm fine with that, too. I have some dead relatives and friends I would love to chat with again in an afterlife.

I would suppose most people are like me in that we don't know what will happen when we die, but whatever it is, we're O.K. with it because we have no choice but to go along. If it's just 'lights out' and nothing, then that makes our short lives more precious and wonderful, so that's great in its own way, too. A positive attitude at the moment of death is probably a good idea.

No one knows, and any individual or organization which purports to know is lying and/or delusional. No matter how much effort you put into trying to find out, you'll never know the answer. Until you're dead. And even then, maybe you won't.

I have been clinically Dead thirty three (33) times 3 were recent!

when you die it's like floating in a big bubble with this amazing Calm and very relaxed feeling and it's like all of existence floods into you and you see a light blue iridescent light! It is amazing! It's like your soaked in calmness and happiness the calmness is very very deep! It feels good to lose that Clunky P.O.S chunk of meat called body with all it's ills and pains!

I hope it is like a deep sleep where you don’t remember anything or maybe dream lightly. I honestly think that in some way you are reincarnated into the universe living once more to experience life but just like with the life before you remember nothing of your previous life. Maybe you become many living things or you just remain dormant for eons.

I think about this a lot at the moment because my father is in a coma expected to pass away very soon. He is near brain death now so in a way I feel he has already passed on. This subject can be very deep but the fact is no one really knows what happens I was once pronounced dead and resuscitated but I can’t remember anything from it except that there was nothing and felt like I was in the darkest part of space unaware not afraid or happy just nothingness it certainly didn’t bother me it was actually very peaceful.

It is incredibly peaceful!

Although I can not say or even begin to imagine how it might feel (though I speculate I wont feel...no brain after death)...I do however find solace in the fact that we have gone through this phase in our lives once before. We just don't remember it. We came from non existence and we will end in non existence (in sorts)

If we have done it once, heck we can do it again.

We didn't exist before we were born. When we die, we will HAVE existed but we will not continue to exist...But I'm still trying to find my footing in some other faith rather than the religion that was beat into me by my parents. That isn't faith, that's following out of fear.

I will however suggest that you read a book titled Old Souls, its about children with memories of past lives that surprisingly enough happen to correlate with deceased people miles away from their home.

Pardon me for saying it, but neuroscience has long-since debunked near-death experience as a spiritual journey. It's a product of the brain reacting to a traumatic event, these experiences are not due to a lack of connection to the brain. (death) In fact, the same "near-death experiences" can be experienced time and time again by anyone undergoing High-G training. (Gravity training for astronauts) The engineer who monitors High-G training has had over 50 of these experiences.

That's not to say death isn't a mystery. What happens after may or may not be magnificent. But near-death experience is an illusion.

I have different information:

I am on a ship. A Russian warship directs his cannons against our ship. I try to leave the ship, however, at the same moment they fire a missile in our direction. In the next deliberate moment, I know that I am only pure soul. I have already left my body; however, I am in his nearness.
I see divers retrieving my former body and that of other people. The retrieved dead bodies are on the ground. Standing around people have timidity to look at my corpse and those of the others. Where, nevertheless, I imagine that the death is only advancement, a restart. I look at my former body like at an article of clothing that one has taken off. A certain relation still exists; the look of my former body is still familiar to me very much.
Nevertheless, I feel myself as a whole. I do not lack my physical body at all. Basically, not really much changed. I see all events as usual. The only difference is that the living persons cannot perceive me and I experience the dramaturgy without emotions. It is soonest comparable with a person who looks with interest at scenery. I recognize the world as a play in which the actors forget that it is only a play. (Experience; 01 08 12)
It was a mercy to experience the astral world and that I could take the perception consciously into the third dimension.
