You only take deaths into count without considering who is responsible for the deaths.

On one hand person himself is responsible for his death, it is personal responsibility.

When gun kills are taken into an account, then the another person is responsible for someone´s death. The person who died might be innocent and lost life, because some idiot had a gun.

That is the difference, why these can not be compared.

You can harm yourself as much as you want, but nobody should have even an option of harming others.
You can not ban personal harm, but you can ban harming others.
