While two billion Christians around the world celebrate Easter Sunday, Google is using its famous “Doodle” search logo art to mark the birth of left-wing labor leader Cesar Chavez. While i use Google and really like it, i will be using a different search engine in the future and assume many people will too. This "politically correct" travesty will most likely cost Google big bucks. They just pissed off 2 billion people. Whether you are a believer or not this flies in the face of reason and they will not get through it unscathed. They went too far left.

Why is this such a big deal? The "Christian" easter holidays are different every year, where the Cesar Chavez holiday is the same *EVERY* year. Not to mention I'm not Christian, and along with the 5 Billion non-Christians on this planet and we will get offended if Google puts a Christian image on their search page. What happens to Google then?

I've pointed that out several times. The OP is ignoring it. I can't believe this non-issue has reached 9 pages. :shk:

Its useless to try. Playing the victim seems to be the new MO of right wing whackjobs, religious or otherwise.

Be thankful...they could have called it Happy Zombie Day, or Happy Jesus on a Stick Day...etc. At least they didn't go there...

I have not done anything at all to disrespect Chavez. I did not complain about him as a person. I did not disparage his contribution to mankind. And yet you made that comment to me - not to some other random internet Christian.

Are you people high on napalm or something?
How are they "spitting" anyone?
Are they saying: "Easter is for stupids"?
Are they saying: "Jesus Sucks!"?
Nope, they are honoring a guy that, perhaps, DESERVES to be remember...
EVERYONE knows about Easter, that day DOESN'T NEED more publicity...
As many posters here showed, many people ignored who C. Chavez was (myself included).
What is the need to have an Easter doodle, what's the point? Isn't all the crap on TV enough?
Why is wrong to remember someone that actually DID SOMETHING for others, just like, I don't know... Jesus?

To all you easily-annoyed christians: Do you think this is the way your pal Jesus would like you to be?

People who actually pay attention see this as yet another attack on Christianity that has been ongoing for decades. The writing is on the wall for those who bother to look. The act may be miniscule, it however is another symptom of the overall trend toward a Godless America. The Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves and have been for decades.

I was too busy at church celebrating to care what google used as their doodle. Sorry guys, not with you all on this one. There are bigger problems in this world to care what doodle google uses. That's just my opinion on this matter.

Yes they are. They can't believe how ridiculous American society has become.

Actually, a lot of the Founding Fathers would have been just fine with it, as many weren't Christians but Rationalists...but still....

Easter isn't just a Christian holiday....it's an American tradition. There's nothing about the Easter Bunny or colored eggs in the Bible... That's the thing, it isn't just about religion, it's as integral to our culture as Christmas trees and Santa Claus (neither of which are in the Bible).

That said though, Google is an international site...so eh? It's more of an affront to our American traditions, than it is to Easter as a holiday.

You still don't explain WHY IS AN ATTACK?
So anything BUT talking about the christian/pagan mythology is an attack on the christian/pagan mythology?
How egocentric are you peeps?

And I'll repeat: Do you think this is the way your pal Jesus would like you to be?

Just because people are rejecting Christianity it doesn't mean we are godless....religionless maybe but I believe in God but not your man made version written 2000 years ago God.
Like I said keep Religion out of Government and do not preach to others and you can think what you like.

WHO CARES Easter isn't evena "holy day" its downright pagan, and fyi it was pagan WAYYY before the Messiahs Death, ALSO WHERE in the bible or ANY history book does it say he died this week?
and the whole christian faith is a copy of catholic church. Search up the "Great Crusades".
Frankly i dont give a damn mabout christian nor catholic faith. Both of them are huge deceptions. and a spit in the face at the true almighty.
WHo do you think the great whore is? The catholic church. DUH, hmm ever wondered why christians share pretty much the same(except the 14 aprophycal books) bible and same traditions? I just laugh at the face of christians who say they dislike catholics. Hypocrites.

WHy is this thread is still open/receiving posts? its such a STUPID thread.
-end rant-

Perking up at the fact that some corporation didn't join the figurative church service isn't a sign of spiritual strength, but of weakness that seeks to justify itself with idle indignation. It's the easy way out of actually practicing one's religion.

Taking religion out of schools, out of government is exactly why American society is on a downward spiral.

"The country's first two presidents, George Washington and John Adams, were firm believers in the importance of religion for republican government." --official Library of Congress statement

"...both the legislators and the public considered it appropriate for the national government to promote a nondenominational, nonpolemical Christianity."--official Library of Congress statement

John Adams in a letter written to Abigail on the day the Declaration was approved by Congress
"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." --October 11, 1798

Charles Carroll - signer of the Declaration of Independence
" Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure...are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments." [Source: To James McHenry on November 4, 1800.]

Benjamin Franklin:
“ God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel” –Constitutional Convention of 1787

Alexander Hamilton:
• Hamilton began work with the Rev. James Bayard to form the Christian Constitutional Society to help spread over the world the two things which Hamilton said made America great:
(1) Christianity
(2) a Constitution formed under Christianity.
“The Christian Constitutional Society, its object is first: The support of the Christian religion. Second: The support of the United States.”

Leave it out of schools...It is for the Church or the home...do not force Religion on my children in a place of study...

All those quotes are from a different time.

Oh and please do not equate that morals only come from Religion...they do not.

I like how you completely fly over my posts and don't even care to look, ignorant much?
And yeah i agree with monkeyboy, leave religion out of schools, i don't want my kids being teached fake evil religions like christianity or catholism.
