Seems like typical GLP posting to me. I did note that one of the site admins posted that it was not a shill but a person faking it. An admin would have access not only to IP's but also to things like all accounts or posts from an IP, previously banned accounts and their specifics, etc. i know our policies preclude us from being able to say "That person that just got banned? Yeah - they've been banned 19 times before. They used to use the names ____ and ____... so now do y'all know what's happening?" I imagine GLP probably has similar rules.

IE when an admin shows up to say "Relax, it isn't real"? Chances are, IMO, that admin has insider info informing him or her of what they speak.

Of course to those who assume I am either a computer program or a soldier sitting in some massive warehouse somewhere - this won't ring true. Sadly, given the reality of my world... I kind of envy those soldiers.

Screenshot or a link if you have one so we can get this over with.

Too bad the original thread was 404'd, the document was behind a wall at eda, ogden. I'm still wondering what an Xstart method is...

Five posts up from the bottom of page 18 - using the search term that Bigfootgurl provided, "medical type says sandy hook".

What original thread are you talking about? The one on GLP or the one started at ATS earlier, why was that one closed btw? I was able to read the first page through some cache but nothing on that page looked worthy of trashing a thread for.

It is not a question of are any disinfo agents on ATS, the only questions are how many are there and who are they. A very high Star to Flag ratio would be a possible telltale. Some sophisticated ones have higher flag numbers.

Other obvious telltales are usually trying to distract/derail threads, emotionally engage and personal attacks.

This great thread outlines disinfo agent tactics:

Tnx

Edit: Still that admins answer made no sense at all. This thing is still highly questionable. But I admit I have not read the entire thread and do not understand all the background of GLP.

The explanation offered by the admin makes no sense. The Korean/Kasak poster had been spamming the threads for weeks and people were onto it already. So in order for his argument to prevail he fakes being a shill??

I'll tell you why it got canned, somebody started bitching and broke T & C on purpose. Probably tattled to a mod, mods waffled till the next day and finally it was "moved to the trash bin forum".

If that IP had a prior history of issues, it would not be hard to put 2 and 2 together. There are frequent returnees here ( A-SHNITZEL-CHOO) that I can pretty much identify within 2 or 3 sentences of their first post - most of the time. Others take a lot of digging and comparing to figure out.

Obviously I am not privy to the inner workings of GLP. And I certainly am not going to pay money to gain such knowledge. So I am going under the assumption that their model is probably a more laid back version of ours - at least in some regards. Our T&C's are stiffer - but on the other hand, we don't do domain bans or ask for money either. It's a balance IMO. Anyway... if what they can do is similar to what I and other members of staff can do - I am left to assume that they must have had reason to make such a post.

As for motives? GLP promotes and engages role playing to an extent - thus they could easily have written it off as a joke post or a game... or they could have rolled with it and watched their hits skyrocket for a week or two. This reinforces my belief that it was probably one of their problem-children and that they shut things down fast because feeding trolls tends to keep the troll around.

I remember the good ol' days of ATS. I could be here all day, now it's just that kind of bull# and more.

That's all very speculative and...interesting, I guess. The document behind the wall at ogden is more like evidence, which I prefer to speculation.

Look at the OP, read the text, toward the end it says "Have you been more successful with one or other XSTART methods that were demonstrated in N-7015A.DOC?" That doc was searched and was found to be at:

eda.ogden.disa.mil/

which is inaccessible without a password.

This was covered in the original thread, in the grey area btw.

tnx, though i cannot find any connection to eda.ogden.disa.mil/ with the N-7015A.DOC search term.

Update: As of 3/29/13 I’m unable to re-produce the Google Search Result for the document on the eda.ogden.mil website. ATS has deleted the screenshots of the Google results, which were posted on page 2 in the thread.

Thanks... I try to keep up, but it's a lot to juggle at once - between this, other threads I am participating in, and moderating.

Anyway - here is a list of the forms housed on the Ogden site. They all appear to be standard logistics and nothing that would be used for filing real time reports or as a copy/paste resource for any operations.

in fact it would not make any sense at all for an asset to need to log into a central site to access forms given the nature of Cyberspace and the potential for interception. A facility with an internal network for such things seems much more logical.

The DoD / Ogden URL is in the public domain and would be something that anyone who has done a military or civilian contracting requisition would be familiar with. A target of opportunity for the creation of a spurious and ominous looking post.

Not anymore...

but screenshots were made, and I would happily post one, but don't want to have bigfootgirl's thread end up in the trash bin forum!!
