I think a good ending would be if Dany, Jon, Gendry and Cercei were all vying for the kingdom, and they look at each other and say spontaneously "Let the people decide! Let them vote!" And nobody contested the election; a leader was installed, and they all lived happily ever after.

But I suppose whoever gets the throne will be the last one still standing. Then whoever it is, removes a mask and it's
Jaqen H'ghar.

That would be the most anticlimactic ending I could imagine. Like, 8 seasons of build up. With the final season being full motion pictures with each episode at 1.5 hours each. And you get to the end expecting an explosion and......fizzle.

LOL, it would be entertaining to see people react to it. freefolk on reddit lost their minds over the battle of winterfell and it was great to see.

Given the writing so far, if that IS the worst ending we could possibly imagine, that will probably be what happens.

I just want this over with. Wish it was a Netflix dump.

My friend has a theory:
Jamie I is going to kings landing to kill cersie, but didn't want brianne coming with him on his suicide mission.. so in order to spare her he acted like it was a pump'n'dump..

Kinda like when arya through the rock at Nymeria.. it was out of love..

That's his theory..

The more honorable thing to do in my opinion would be to tell her the truth of he was going to kill her. Then it's just a simple conversation with sansa.

Jamie: "sansa, command Brianne to stay at winterfell, do not let her ride south to die."

Sansa: "O.K."

.......

We will see..

My theory is Jamie chokes cersie out, then jumps out comments window..

Perhaps I just need a reason to be irritated and jaded,
But the last three seasons have been click bait and over-rated,
From the tactics to the refuse dialogue,
my spastic nephew could do a better-job,
The dragons might as well be gnats,
The long nighter took one day it's-in the past,
While I'm drinking flagons by the vats,
These writers keep sh--ten out dragon glass

So I wonder.

How can Danny, and the rest of the heroes screw up this next episode.

I am not holding much hope the Hound can defeat his brother. He got his but kicked by a girl.

I wonder if the hounds Dragon glass axe will kill the mountain in one shot..probably not..all the undead controlled by the night king died with him. So I think the mountain is more of a zombie..

It would be more poetic to see the hound use a flaming sword like beric's.

But I'd bet the farm szandor wins..

Most likely by way of some sort of fire..

Davos made it clear. The Lord of Light is through with them.

So no flaming swords, only a flaming pile of dog snip that use to be a great series.

I just think fire will be involved and the hound wins..

He had his face mushed into the fire as a child...
It would be poetic justice for the hound to kill his brother with fire.

Don't need the Lord of light for that..

Wild fire, a torch, a fireplace, pushed into Dragon fire... any of these will do for me..

The show: Here's some sex stuff between an Amazonian and an antihero that we've been teasing for 5 seasons. Oh and now Jaime has reverted to the person he was in episode one, out of the blue, for reasons.

Me: Awesome! I see what's coming! Jaime is playing double agent so the Kingslayer can do what he do! QUEENSLAYER INCOMING!

The writing so far this season: You sure 'bout that brah?

Me: What? Surely you're not just going to dump the longest running redemption arc and one of the major plot points in the dumpster in a single unexplained throwaway scene? Right?

The show: Tune in next week, same Bat time, same...

Me: Weeping openly.

*Where I'm at emotionally regarding this show at the present time.

Starred for speaking the sad truth..
That character arc was one of the most compelling storylines in the show..

I bet Nicol Coster-wilde (sp) sneered with contempt after reading the script and realized he had to act out that drivel...

Bad writing is just bad.

To me it seems that they just tried to race through to the end too fast which is gonna leave too many questions unanswered. And of the do what I think they might they are gonna leave too many with a wtf just happened feeling because they never went into the history of the golden company.
My choice ending to the story would be that after the battle and cearcie dies everyone just stands around looking at each other. Jon throws his sword down saying heck no I don't want the job. I'm heading back north I miss my puppy. Danny says she only wanted the throne to break the wheel and after order her dragon to melt the danged thing into a pile of molten iron and encouraging them all to find a better wayshe flies away on her dragon. And every one else just says no thanks and goes home.

Does anyone else think that the showrunners are intentionally dropping the ball and acting in misdirection for the sake of the actual novels?

I mean it would be pretty nonsensical to spoil the books with a television show that fails to capture proper context and nuance.

Nope. Both Martin and D&D said the books will end the same way as the show.

For those of us without on demand ,
They are replaying the entire season on hbo today before the new episode.

I'm wondering if tyrion betrays Varys to Danny. And I'm hoping for Clegane Bowl tonight..And it better be an epic showdown...

Any death predictions?
