If you are referring to the bank bailouts, I doubt any conservative person would suggest such a thing. What you are forgetting here is that this is toxic debt incurred because Progressives insisted that even the very poorest of the poor deserve a break and therefore must be accorded a loan by the banking institutions. Now it is getting thrown around like a hot potato.
Local real estate taxes have added to the fuel because the higher taxes means that people can't as easily afford their monthly mortgage.

My personal feeling is that SS should not be raided for anything, but it should be phased out eventually. The problem is how to do that and still make payments to existing retirees. Govt should get out and stay out of people's personal retirement, but it was done as part of the Nanny State. Adding more Nanny Statism is not going to fix any of these problems.

Let's face it, govt bureaucrats are not the responsible stewards we would like them to be.

Newsflash robbing from the rich and give to the poor doesn't mean people care about the poor they just outsource their personal responsibility like everything else in this country,
