LOL, EXACTLY what I was just thinking! I paused for a moment to be sure he wasn't just coming out to try and shut it down from within, though. Seems like he's on board, though.

I have seen way too much shenanigans from both sides the past few years to trust an altruistic motive from a politician. But, despite my cynicism... all the tweets will be talked about tomorrow on all the political outlets and the picture drawn should it prove to be an accurate rendition will be one of the American people saying no. So, my gratitude to Senator Paul.

RE: Nunya and Mal ---

It is the perfect clarion call for vast majority of American's that don't follow party-lines and are sick of the divide: If you are a R you MUST believe in this and if you are a D you MUST believe in that.

For what it is worth, so long as it doesn't get buried, you can see a melding of party-line politics into a Peoples' body that demands accountability and just Government that is accountable and within the bounds of the Constitution. Senator Rand's stance is clear, under what authority does the President have to arbitrarily suspend a person's right to due process? That is a question for Democrats and Republicans alike and is a simple question in my estimation.

Edit: To Kail, honest and straightforward answer and I agree. But this shenanigan, regardless of some backroom deal or whatnot, is important as he is making a stand and demanding a straightforward answer to an important question in my opinion.

Well, by the looks of it, they just had a short dinner break and are back. Toomey is talking right now.
Looks like a nice small crowd there now.
I had a feeling this would happen.

I agree 100%. I don't support the Republicans or the Democrats. I didn't vote for Obama, never have, but I've never voted for a Republican ever either. But I would have voted for Ron Paul. And his son is seriously impressing me tonight.

The question is vital, I'm glad it's being asked by someone, anyone with power in policy.

Correction to an early post:

MSNBC now recognizes the Senator from Kentucky on their news-site. CNN --- 12th on the sidebar of "Just in" news.....Fox, well, its Fox. HuffPo still sporting the news in big fashion, ABC News, it's starting to get some play, NBC News apparently thinks that the Senate is dealing with gun control right now as their headline is "Senate snag dims gun control prospects".....CBS News "At GOP outreach dinner, Obama picks up the tab"...no mention of the filibuster....

Onto others: NYTIMES is still silent, LATIMES: silent and sporting the most important news of the day of the Lakers overcoming a 25-point deficit.

These are the places that the majority of the people get their news from...no wonder we have such an anemic society on how the country is being ran....

Even Motherjones is running it as their top headline...

Filibuster talks weren't on the menu for the meeting. But I wonder if it came up? Only if walls could talk. They represent us, so I think they should tell us what was all discussed.

I'm glad to see it.

The hypocrisy is just so obvious.

I was against Bush on Iraq and the borrowing and spending under his watch. I wasn't against enhanced interrogations though. This is because nobody died and in important situations they should be used.

My liberal friends argued until they were horse about morality and we shouldn't be doing this because they're human beings. They wanted Bush tried for War Crimes and AG Gonzalez impeached. They said it was just barbaric.

Now, I talk to those same friends about drones KILLING innocent children and how Holder is expanding the definition on who can be hit by these drones strikes and NOTHING.

They say they trust Obama and this is what he has to do.

So Bravo Rand Paul!!

ugh, him talking about 9/11 and him saying GWB would've gotten a call to 'shoot' down one of these planes...

he got it wrong... Cheney changed the protocols a few months before 9/11 to where HE was in charge of calling the shots if a hijacking ever occurred.

Thats just 1 thing out of many that I noticed was wrong or half wrong.

What we are having the privilege of seeing in this filibuster, by Rand tonight, is true transparency. Not the transparency claimed by this Administration.

We are being shown tonight, The Emperor is truly naked.

I started following the filibuster and this thread when it was at 4 flags. Glad to see it hit 93 and going. #FILIBLIZZARD # STANDWITHRAND.

Rand is still going strong. Why hasn't the white house responded yet?

Guess what Reince Priebus, Chairman of the RNC just tweeted? Everybody wants to #standwithrand right now. He is the man of the hour (or 12).

They did. Rand stated earlier, he got a call from them. All they said was...they are done talking. End of conversation...
