I'll bet if he runs in 2016, he'll win, unless the whole damn thing is rigged.

What a triumph that would be eh?

I can agree there to a point but Rand wasn't around during Bush's policies, neither were Cruz or Rubio; so what would you have? These three are holding their own along with others calling out the nonsense and demanding the Government provide answers.

I can understand the displeasure to the old guard but here are young Senators doing their job.....

I don't disagree with anything you just said, honestly. But at the same time I'm watching this and feeling uplifted and inspired. On a hopeless, despicable mud-ball like this I'll take the thrills I can get.

Tonight, President Obama took a group of Republican senators to dinner at the Jefferson Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. Obama, the White House says, picked up the tab.

The guest's at Obama's dinner included:

Senator Lindsey Graham
Senator Bob Corker
Senator Kelly Ayotte
Senator John McCain
Senator Dan Coats
Senator Tom Coburn
Senator Richard Burr
Senator Mike Johanns
Senator Pat Toomey
Senator Ron Johnson
Senator John Hoeven
Senator Saxby Chambliss

They should be hauling ass to the Senate in support of Rand Paul, in support of the rights of all Americans.

Ted Cruz is a firecracker.
Watch, this day might really take a spot in history, this is a day to remember.

11 hours and ticking...

Rubio just quoted from the Godfather....

Sorry, I don't for one minute think he's doing this to protest drones instead of being an obstructionist however... #standwithrand is the top trending hashtag on twitter at the moment with people from all sides stating they're against drones, so I'm thankful for that... and hey 11+ hours and going is admirable.

And Senator Cruz gave a shout out to codepink. Odd night lol.

Were quotes from the godfather really in good taste?

I liked what Rubio had to say, but quoting a book about organized crime seems an odd choice.

It just wasn't the same when Marco Rubio began speaking. Maybe he needs better quotes or maybe it's because he just reffered to Jay Z and Wiz Khalifa as poets.

My feeling was that this was to get them away from the filibuster, since some of the invited were present at it. Why the last minute peace offering of dinner? Why is everything Obama does back handed and at the right moment to suit his needs vs. the needs of this country? Coincidence? No way!

In spirit of debate and discussion I ask why? Placing aside all political divide, should a Senator, who cannot provide consent without knowing answers, just pass on a "yea" vote to a nominee that the president decides? Why have such a clause if you cannot truly consent to the decision?

I would say it is only odd because lines were crossed and some senators actually woke up; they will face the ire of the President but get ready for the big news of committee seats lost, shunning on Capital Hill and such for not towing the party lines. Bravo indeed to them for saying no, regardless of the silly letter behind their name.

This has been on CNN's home page for many hours now. Now the talk on the home page article has moved to who paid for their meal.

In a rare social outing, the president dined with 12 GOP senators, including some of his harshest critics, such as Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

Well, it was different, however thinking about some
events from Chicago, I think I understand what he was saying,
yes he could have done better, though I will give him credit for holding
the floor.

Rand cant do this alone...

Taking their ball and going home? That is how you run the most powerful and influential nation on the planet. Do we have 4th graders running the show?!

John Thune FTW! He even put on a spiffy suit and tie and looks like he's ready for the long haul! As a former Obama supporter (pre-2010), it's strange to be excited about Republican senators. But there you have it; when you think for yourself, you can change your mind and stand for truth and liberty. Nothing wrong with having hope; not in 2008, and not tonight.

This is my Superbowl. Epic. Twitter is like a civilized pitchfork mob.

Seriously. I'm sitting here fist-pumping over Republicans. Are we down the rabbit hole? What's happening? lol

ETA: My God. Mitch McConnell *head desk* I can't believe this is happening.

This may be interesting....well maybe not.

Where's he been all day, doesn't seem to know what the heck is going on. Really?
