I don't usually feel good when another person dies....

I'll make an exception just this once. I think I'll buy myself some take out on the way home as a little treat for the occasion.

(Yeah...I really disliked him and what he did to Venezuela THAT much) Lets hope his replacement isn't worse.

You've bought the propaganda. Chavez is (was) a man of the people.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you have one of those Che Guevara T-Shirts, too? Chavez was awfully similar in mindset and tactics.

I'll say we can agree to disagree about the nature of the man and note that disagreement doesn't mean ignorance. It simply means I don't agree.

The CIA killed him.

No seriously though, he didn't have much time left. He went to Cuba many times for treatment. (If you can call that treatment)

U.S. male life expectancy rates are on par with Chile, Cuba, and Slovenia and U.S. female life expectancy rates are on par with Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, and Poland

considering all the trouble the US goes to to prevent cuba from doing its own thing they seem to be keeping up ok to the mega giant next door

at least they are saving lives in other countries instead of taking them

As a man who has admitted to fall for Scientology for several months $$$$; I wouldn't call out others as ignorant as an insult very often....

Please show me where I compared Obama to Chavez?

I only claimed that Obama could get more dictators like Chavez to endorse him in the future - which is true. The world’s loony leaders (Iran, China, Cuba et al…) seem to support him almost to a man.

Why is that I wonder? He's sezy, perhaps they like his ideas or maybe they feel he is weak and therefore easy to manipulate...

I know the photo I posted is just funny - sorry. The "death" of douche bag leaders is funny to me.

Either of the guys in that photo's passing is not really much of a loss for the world.

The dearth of information about Chavez's condition has fueled rumors on the streets of Caracas and on Twitter, but officials insist that the firebrand leader remains in charge and that his aides are united

They don't seem to think H.C. is dead.

He's a smart one and probably just playing dead to see what happens.

The CIA has been trying to take him down for years and he is one of the few leaders in the world that does not wish to be a puppet (see Libya). Can't be letting that happen otherwise people would realize they can do things differently and succeed (see Iceland).

I might not have liked everything he has done but I do respect that he stood up against those who wish to enslave his people and make him a puppet.

...

This is common practice. It may not be so easy (as far as we know) to rig elections in the U.S but it can be done elsewhere.

All you need is your daddy to be head of the CIA and you can rig a presidential election--TWICE!

You do realise most countries dont use voting machines because it makes it to easy to perform mass vote manipulation. Pretty much everywhere in the world uses pencil and paper ballots.

Also have you looked into who owns Diebold?. Please dont assume you hold the monopoly on democracy, its laughable.

Iam reading a lot about him at the moment and he really does appear like a breath of fresh air.
I think he has annoyed all the elites in the world and they have tried to tarnish him (looks like the elites have brainwashed many here) so please tell me what he has done wrong?

Another good article here

venezuelanalysis.com...

Hope the dude isn't dead If he is RIP.

Exactly. You hear all these US politicians demonize his name. Then you actually read about what he's done, and it's pretty impressive.
Is he a perfect leader? There's never been one.
But from his actions, it seems quite evident that he actually cares about his people, which really can't be said for many leaders.

It's kind of sad how so many people are getting wrapped up in labels like "dictator" or "socialist." It's a very shallow way of thinking.
Was Hitler evil because he was a dictator? Or was he evil because he tried to kill all of the jews, and conquer the world?

Of course, an authoritarian style government system leaves the opportunity for an evil man to rise to power. That's why a republic with separation of powers, like the US, is a better style of government.
But the fact remains, there can be good dictators.

This video presents a good picture of the man and the people around him.

Wow, I just finished watching this video you posted... excellent !

For anyone who still buys into the western world's BS propaganda about what happened in Venezuela, watch this documentary. It's an eye opener, particularly because these film makers were right in the thick of it all as it went down. So you get a direct viewing inside the palace instead of what we've been fed by the media.

Thanks for the documentary, ipsedixit !

Depending on whose graph you look at Venezuela is somewhere in the top 15 oil producing nations world wide. But if you look at reserve tables and the projected amount of oil that they are expected to produce in the coming years they rate in the top seven. Look at the others at the top and you wonder. How many of those countries at the top aren't in our hands? ZERO (well Iran... don't hold your breath)
