Mt. Etna Major Eruption Now!

hey silo, just came to see how you are doing...and wow!....ash took out your veggie garden?....jesus, girl...shouldn't you find a little more safer place to live? it must be an adrenaline rush being so close. anyway, stay safe as if i have to tell you, and thanks for the all the info, pictures, and updates. i am living vicariously next to etna with you, without the friggin' danger and fear of course.

We need some eyes on the ground so we can learn about these events. Stay safe, don't take too many chances. Curiosity can kill the cat.....keep the bunnies instead of using them to put yourself in more danger. If you are gone, all we have is the media.

A lot more noise - some dark clouds from her (?) and more clouds blocking the view.
I can't see anything outside so I'll take a peak inside...

Yes, I can hear her 'roaring' but I can't see a thing other than the web cams.
The ground shook a bit ago - again - can feel and hear but not see.
Waiting to see what happens now with the ash.

Normally after a long 'roaring' blow like that she settles right down. Not tonight, lol. Three explosions shook the house. She must be practicing new versions of her own 'grand finale'!

Catania online reported the airport was not closed but the paper this morning says it was - also - the ash and 'fallout' caused a lot of problems on the highway (A18). The use of the word 'violent' three times in the article.

Some noise this morning but nothing to indicate she's starting 'back up' again.

Did it just get more intense? Looking and the webcam images and tremor graphs--it looks like the mountain was very "throaty". Be safe.

That is a lot of ash getting spewed Gracie! Hope it's not going to be as much as her last 'outburst'...that was a lot of clearing up you and your neighbours had to do.
