too true, it's more easy for them (and profitable) for them to sell the dream and step aside to allow the corruption to continue

Okay, let's look at what you're suggesting compared to what the Op is suggesting...

1. We have robots to do all the work;

Under our current system, the economy would crash.
Under the Op's system, humanity would benefit.

2. We have personal home 3D printers to the molecular level;

how is the majority going to speak out and why, if they don't see the looming dread that you see? How many americans voted in the last election for either Obama or Romney? Something like one hundred million or something? That's one third of the population that actually gives a rats ass enough about the direction of the country, be it real direction or an illusory one, to get off their ass to check off a box in a booth. One third of the country who doesn't really care if Obama is a puppet for Israel or if Romney is a crony capitalist who couldn't give a crap about the poor and unfortunate. So I doubt the remaining two thirds of the population were holed up in their basement counting their bullets or even caring about the doomed world to begin with. They were probably stuffing their face with cheezwhiz

how isn't the issue, demonstrations work, and if they don't they lead to revolutions. as for the why, well opening their eyes is the first steps, is it going to take a catastrophe to awaken them? probably, does that mean we should wait before the disaster to hit before attempting, absolutely not. You're right the majority of the population cannot be bothered with the world around them, until the effects are felt by them, but they are also observant of wrong doings, and grasp an understanding of good and evil. if a plan can be presented with no open talks for improvements and suggestions, then we'll be on the path

And you saw any real change from Bush to Obama? "Change we could believe in?" And now its just, "Forward". Voting is a placebo. A distraction like sports and organized religion. The other opiate of the masses. But you are right about the thirds part.

In any given selection process about a third will opt for, a third against and a third will... stuff their face with cheez wiz. They know this and it is their cornerstone to power. You just go right ahead and keep putting your stamp of approval on the whole process and keep on voting.

Pass the cheez wiz?

In your OP...

that the American people must always be ready to take arms against their government once they assert their will over the people. I declare that time is now. I declare it is time that we rise against...

Now its...

my true desire is not the actual call to arms,

Oh, okay. Be careful what you flip flop on. Seemed pretty clear to me. We wouldn't want to set of any people "on the brink" now would we. They pick up on your "call to arms" that you "don't really mean" and then whamo we read about some lunatic tomorrow that thought you really mean it.

Tsk, tsk...

I'm not saying that people should necessarily be voting to make change happen, I was attempting to show how getting people motivated to revolution is like trying to train a cat to become a guard dog. I'm not an advocate for revolution because frankly, I don't really care what happens to the world, but I honestly think folks who are preoccupied with rallying the disgruntled and the dejected to revolution are waving the wrong flag. If the world is to become a better place, we need to actually help people on a smaller scale, being charitable on our own, helping the people we see in our own lives. Not to diminish the idea of the OP, but grandiose manifesto declarations of "it's now or never" are just immature.

Merely my my take on it.

Politics are far too trivial to possibly be the most important thing I've ever read. No offense I'm sure your OP was well written, its just that there are more important things in life.

It's not just politics; It's the attitude and intentions of a whole society.

The attitudes and intentions of a whole society are borne of each individual in that society.
If your individual attitude and intentions are not useful and wholesome to the society, that society will suffer greatly.
If your attitude and intentions are selfish and bent on hoarding personal wealth, not only does the society suffer, but that individual and its family will suffer greatly from a lack of soul.

There is an inherant sense of reward from having shared ones wealth, wisdom and fortune with those that are less fortunate, as well as the emergant society: the young.

This is why the USA and its parasitic Western World partners have become societal degenerates, generally dependant on mind altering drugs to see us through our miserable and unsatisfying lives: Our life priorities have become grossly misplaced.

Honesty and personal intergrity have become totally sidelined in exchange for other, more corrupt attitudes.
When cheating and lying becomes the norm, any society will break down into its total decadence.
Not good for any society!

Seeing as I'm not from the good old us of a, this whole thread and the way you advertised it is a total waste of time....
How the holy heck would this load of self important crud be so important, just woken up? Not realised the world does not stop at your borders yet? You have a bloody low opinion of others reading and thinking

opening paragraph stated that i am an american discussing the current situation of the American society, but the solutions should benefit all willing to adapt it their situations, in no way, form or shape does your misunderstandings of my intentions and perspectives allude to me having a low opinion on others peoples views and opinions.

if you read the whole thing, then something intrigued you enough, so don't blame me for wasting time, if not, don't waste everyone else's by insulting someone who is attempting to inspire change in a crooked system, i'm sure we both agree the system is crooked

Yes! The 100th Monkey phenomenon is one of our greatest possibilities to coalesce and overcome obstacles on any scale. I just wonder how many people will be required to reach that critcal mass. Will we even get there, at least in time to prevent or defeat what so many of us know is coming? People do seem to be waking up to the realities of this world at an ever increasing rate, but will it be enough?

Here in the US, there seems to be an ever growing uneasiness and sense of foreboding that people are feeling. Many things are quickly happening that we dont like and we have no say. Our rights and the constitution are being threatened and our government looks to be officially out of control as it turns against it's own people and evolves(has already evolved) into a fascist organization.

Everyone who is awake knows we are approaching a precipice. Things are quiet now, but at some point there will be a catalyst that will drive people to take action. It could be any one of many possibilities. Things such as another false flag op, stripping us of the 2nd Amendment and/or further chipping away of our rights, increasing taxes, rising food costs/inflation, internet censorship, the "right" instance of police brutality, or who knows. I dont think it will be long now. It may just be a large enough number of people hitting the streets that compels others and causes a chain reaction.

Whatever it is, I for one hope it comes sooner rather than later. Those who are running this show are only getting richer while they plunge us deeper into debt and become an ever greater threat. Only the people have the power to change this, and its not going to happen by emailing your "elected" Congressmen and Senators - that much is clear.

I'd say something but, you've used up all he words.

Hold it, just realized there were a few words you missed; How about Marxist, Socialist, Luciferian and Nationalist Socialist Party....because bud, what you have written here is right out of Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler.

Mr. McGill...... what you say is very likely the hopes and aspirations of the many, but those not well spoken.

I can't help but notice the immediate attack on your Thread, the spelling, the placement of a coma, the spacing of paragraphs, anything and everything but something of substance. Anything that might discredit.
You have articulated well, and upon the primary issues that are the cause of the our great nations slip into the abyss. Designed by the hierarchy to create division, and is one of the great tactics used by despots is to divide and conquer.
On a speculative note, or more accurately something to be related to our recent Mayan prophecy, or in that context, was the thought of a "New Awakening'. Your Thread appeared to propose a path consistent with that path. After all, a New Awakening won't come off of Ebay or Amazon for only $12.95 in paperback or $19.95 in hardbound. It won't just drop in the peoples lap. It will come from Visionaries. It will fill the void and bring hope, and not the Illusion of 'hope' brandied about by talking heads and politicians.

It will come from the hearts of people willing to look for seek and embrace change.
I think you have opened a door to the possibility of change, a door opened to shedding past indoctrinations and traditions, a door filled with the possibility of a far better world and a mindset. I for one subscribe to your visions of change, and possibilities. I have lived in a time when freedoms in America were still intact, and I have watched the slow erosion generation after generation, with no real champion for change. One thing I have never abandoned is GOD, nor has He abandoned Me.

A typical example of American Localised thinking.... WAKE UP THERE IS A WORLD OUTSIDE THE US OF A!!

Darn it - just what I was going to say.
But maybe the US posters don't realise there are other nationalities here? As already said, just change that (rather self important) subject heading thanks!

let's get past the history recap and figure out how to do it realistically

I did get past the history recap about halfway through the entirety of the post, I know it took more than a couple blocks, but I outlined what I thought the solution would be, hope you get a chance to read through it.

maybe you can update me on the solutions maybe a quick outline of the main points? seriously why bury the main part in stuff we already know?

Robby,

Good on you to do some thinking for yourself, even if the thoughts may not be as original and profound as you intimated with the wording of your title. It's encouraging to know that some people are beginning/learning to think critically instead of just not questioning anything. Keep using your brain muscle and I guarantee it will just get stronger. For most people, anyway; it may not be the case for some, such as myself.

That said, I did come into this thread expecting to preview a new Terry Pratchett novel. Though sadly disappointed that this is not, it could still happily turn out to be inspiration for him to write a new one, perhaps Thus Spake Robby McGill, or similar. I'm sure Mr. Pratchett would come up with a much more clever title than that, and I guarantee anything written by him would be a much more magnificent read.

Keep your head up, investigate some new sources of information suggested and hinted at in this thread by others, and never stop thinking for yourself!

Best wishes for you and yours.
