Please read, where was Bin laden

I am expecting alot of heat from everybody but I need to say it regardless.

I found the following quote in a yahoo article.

"We fought you because we are free ... and want to regain freedom for our nation. As you undermine our security we undermine yours," bin Laden said.

He said he was first inspired to attack the United States by the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon in which towers and buildings in Beirut were destroyed in the siege of the capital.

"While I was looking at these destroyed towers in Lebanon, it sparked in my mind that the tyrant should be punished with the same and that we should destroy towers in America, so that it tastes what we taste and would be deterred from killing our children and women," he said.

The part I am going to point out is the second parragraph,

Here is my problem with this. First I will say that I do not know the exact year Bin laden went to Afghanistan so if I am wrong I will admit it and expect to be corrected. But wasn't Bin laden in Afghanistan fighting a US backed Jihad against Russia as an average jihadist in 1982? Atleast that is what I have been led to believe from the official version of why all of this happened.

I really do not want to hear well this is just another conspiracy theory, bla bla bla. This to me if I am not reading too much into this, would seem that we cought somebody in a major lie. Who I cannot say but a lie none the less. Which, if that is the case then mayb_javascript:center()

You are correct when you say that Bin Laden was in Afghanistan in 1982. From Global Research:

My theory is this. Now I might be taking what he said the wrong way, but from what I got out of that quote is that he went to lebanon at or around 1982. Well if he did how could he be fighting the russians and be in lebanon at the same time.

I have this feeling that I might be taking this the wrong way but I have this deeper feeling that I am not. If that is the case then there is a deseption going on that makes fools out of the entire world.

Once again though I must reiderate that I might be wrong and will admit it if I am.

Vladtepes, I understand that they have tv's, but at that time in afghan I doubt it was easy to get one. I also am thinking this becouse of his choice of rhetoric. It leads one to believe he was there in person.

But I also must say that I am having a hard time believing my own theory only because I do t really know if he was there or why he used the words he used.

The official story is the result of intelligence investigation, prone to inaccuracies and tenuous links just like any other.

Is there any evidence to state categorically where Bin Laden was throughout the entire Afghan resistance? Could he not have been in Lebanon for a period of time?

Also he said that he saw the towers, but not that he saw it in person. Don't you think that he had access to newspapers or photographs or TV? Or are we to assume that all terrorists are mindless, techno-dumb barbarians as GWB would have us? At the same time telling us that they might have nukes? GWB also tells us how easy it is for terrorists to move around the world, particularly the Middle East.

I don't know about the timing of bin laden in afganistan but after reading the text of the tape that aired I thought there was some strange references. I am not surprised by the timing of this tape in conjunction with the elections considering he takes time to poke fun at Bush for not acting quicker. He says he needed 20 mins and got 3 times that. But, farenheit911 pretty much only showed 7mins of wait and see from Bush. It almost seems like the same canned rhetoric we are hearing from Bush/Kerry. He also states that the fate of the american people doesn't lie with Bush or Kerry. No real bombshells considering this is the first time we've seen him on tape for awhile. Anyone else think this message seemed different from what we've seen in the past? Just curious.

He could have seen this on TV as others have suggested or he could have been travelling to other countries during that time.

I, too, found OBL's demeanor very different and very strange from his previous appearances. It appeared to be trying to be "statesmanlike". Gone was the fiery religious fanaticism. It was almost lulling in it's rhetoric. Hence, I found it very chilling. What to make of this? I don't know. But, perhaps, there's more to this tape than our knee jerk reaction that it's solely meant to influence the elections.

There was this guy on CNN tonight saying this was big message to the Muslims also, posing himself as the new leader of Islam and addressing both Bush and Kerry as their Western counterparts, that he is playing in the same league as they are.

Joey, I agree with you. There are those who question the authenticity of the OBL tape because of the discrepancies in past and present behavior and appearence. Perhaps these differences are the key to the triggers we have heard about. The CIA and FBI and whoever has looked at the tape and former tapes can't seem to find a code. Perhaps it is just as simple as "If I wear a gold robe do this, camo do this. If my demeanor is calm do this." Etc. I could be completely off my rocker but at one point I thought he sounded like a father explaining to his child why discipline was necessary. Sent chills right through me. I hope the sceptics are right. I hope both tapes are fake and nothing will happen. But if they are wrong I fear we are in for some serious s#!+ if ya know what I mean....

Bin laden is a multi millionaire and was at that time.He had family in the states and France at that time.It is possible he didn`t fight 24/7 and took a flight out to visit people.Also he was in charge and was the brains in battle rather than the muscle.Sure the photo`s of him hold an AK47 are real but he isn`t Rambo more of a Rumsfelt.You won`t catch OBL getting his hands dirty when you are better at manipulating monkeys to do the dirty work

Well if you hypothesize that Bin Laden is a tool of the CIA, the Bushes, the Illuminati or whoever's running the NWO show, then it all fits in pretty nicely. Nicely for Kerry or Bush or whoever they've decided is going to get into power or which candidate is going to be martyr/hero when Washington gets hit after the election.

I to agree with allot of what has been said here.
It has alway been my thought that everytime we see OBL, or the others that make claims or comments, there is a message being sent to other sleeper cells... They are using our airwaves to get the message out, they don't need to converse over the Internet/Phone/or whatever and take the chance in getting caught.
I fail to remember the Pilots name that was a POW in Vietnam, when he was giving a written confession (forced) on how USA was wrong in being there... At the same time while reading this statement, he was sending a morse code with his blinking eyes back to thoses that would reconize this.
so we/USA could take action on what was being done to them.
There is no difference here in their messages to the sleeper cells to take action on whatever they have plan.

That was a profound statement considering shortly after his commit, came this Tape From OBL, which he never mention anything on Abu taking his place. There are reports in the media that Abu Al Zarqawi is trying to take over power of Al Queda.He has been quoted as saying he thinks Bin Laden has lost his determination and is a coward for hidding.
Personnelly l think the govt is releasing these videos when it needs to as part of a pysco operation to cause the leadership to break down internally.This could split Al Queda up into seperate groups which ultimatly could cause them to turn on each other.
